Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Thanos' Confusion

"Gungnir," the Spear of Eternity!

It's a very famous weapon, even across many universes. It belongs only to Odin, the king of Asgard, and was made from the branches of the World Tree. This spear never misses its target.

In every battle Odin fought, Gungnir was always there.

Many powerful beings had lost to this spear—more than most people would ever meet in their lifetime.

Because of this, it's extremely famous.

Almost every powerful being has heard of it.

Dormammu had known Odin for a long time and fought him many times in the past.

At first, Odin often lost because he was still young and wasn't strong enough, similar to the Ancient One without her powerful magic.

When Odin reached middle age, battles between them became equal because Odin had grown much stronger.

By the time Odin was old, he could easily defeat Dormammu, forcing him to run away in fear.

Dormammu stayed quiet for a long time because he feared old Odin.

Only recently, when Odin had grown weaker with age, did Dormammu become active again.

Dormammu knew clearly that Odin's end was near.

This was fate, and no one could change it.

Dormammu thought Odin would stay quiet and avoid fighting so he wouldn't lose strength faster.

But he didn't expect Odin to suddenly attack him when he was fighting the Ancient One. Wasn't this bullying?

How shameless!

Just as Dormammu angrily screamed, a rainbow pillar of light appeared in the sky.

When the light faded, Odin stood in space!

Gungnir immediately turned around and returned to Odin's hand.

After appearing, Odin first nodded towards the Ancient One in the distance and then turned to Dormammu:

"Dormammu, do you want another beating?"

Dormammu, who had just been ambushed and then mocked by Odin, angrily replied, "Odin, everyone knows you've already got one foot in the grave! Yet you dare to interfere..."

"Even with one foot in the grave, I can still beat you. Believe it or not?" Odin smiled gently, like a kind old grandfather.

Dormammu wasn't sure how to respond.

He was genuinely afraid of old Odin.

Even though Dormammu knew Odin might just be pretending, he still didn't dare to attack easily because past experiences were too painful.

The worst time was when Odin beat Dormammu into a deep sleep. During that time, Mephisto and some other hell lords who disliked Dormammu almost took the chance to attack him.

Even though Dormammu eventually woke up safely and later got revenge, he still felt fear whenever he remembered this.

Dormammu knew there was at least an 80% chance that Odin was bluffing right now. Still, he didn't dare take the risk, especially since the Ancient One was nearby, making the situation even more dangerous.

Earlier, when Dormammu had threatened to kill the Ancient One even if it meant falling into a deep sleep again, he was just talking tough.

If there were really a risk of falling asleep again, he would immediately turn around and run away without caring about his pride.

"Damn it, Odin! Aren't you afraid that after you die, I'll destroy Asgard and wipe out all your people?" Dormammu threatened again, unwilling to leave so easily.

Dormammu knew Odin didn't have much longer to live, and Odin's son was still far from strong enough to protect Asgard.

There would be a period when Asgard was at its weakest.

Unlike Odin, Dormammu wouldn't grow old, so he had the chance to wait until Odin died and then take revenge.

"The gates of Asgard are always open for you," Odin replied calmly, still smiling without any worry.

Dormammu fell silent.

He couldn't figure out if Odin was truly fearless or just bluffing to scare him.

But clearly, threatening Odin like this didn't work.

Yet, he didn't dare attack, so the situation became awkward.

After a long silence, Dormammu finally sneered coldly, "I'll let you win this time. But don't celebrate yet. Your real enemy will soon come looking for you…"

After saying this, Dormammu's giant, dark face vanished back into the darkness.

Unlike before, this time Odin didn't mock or reply sarcastically.

He realized Dormammu wasn't making empty threats; he seemed to be telling the truth.

"My real enemy?" Odin frowned slightly.

Unfortunately, he couldn't figure out who Dormammu was talking about.

Odin had faced too many enemies in his life, but most were dead now. Among those still alive, none seemed strong enough to cause him trouble again.

No matter how hard he thought, he couldn't figure out who Dormammu meant.

"I need to stay alert after going back…" Odin shook his head, staring into the darkness of space.

Under his watch, the endless darkness covering the area gradually faded away, disappearing completely as if it had never been there.

At this time, the Ancient One, far away in the distance, nodded again to thank him silently.

After Odin nodded back, the Ancient One turned around, opened a portal, and disappeared without saying a word.

Soon, a rainbow pillar appeared again, taking Odin away.

The space became quiet and peaceful again.

In another part of the main universe, deep in space—

Thanos was sitting on his throne, calmly watching his men "manage the population" of a planet. Suddenly, his ear twitched slightly.

Without thinking much, he pressed a button on the armrest of his throne.

Immediately, a virtual screen appeared in front of him.

On the screen, a green-skinned woman appeared, looking somewhat messy.

"What happened, Gamora?" Thanos asked, slightly surprised.

"Our main base on the Triple Star was attacked by a series of suicide attacks. Things are under control now, but we suffered heavy losses," Gamora reported quickly.

"Suicide attacks? Who did it? Have you found out?" Thanos's expression turned cold.

"They call themselves followers of the Dark Lord."

"The Dark Lord? Which Dark Lord… Don't tell me it's Dormammu?" Thanos's face changed slightly.

"Yes, that's exactly the name," Gamora nodded.

Hearing this, Thanos sat up straight, showing surprise, but he felt more confused. "Dormammu's followers? Why would they suddenly attack my people?"
