Chapter 86: Chapter 086: A Low-Cost Version of Dormammu?
"This is… magic?!"
Not far away, Red Devil, who was just planning to watch the show, was also shocked by what he saw.
He didn't know what Raymond's powers were, and Juggernaut hadn't mentioned them when they talked, so he was also curious to find out.
Of course, if Raymond lost to the Shadow King or got hurt, he wouldn't just stand by and do nothing.
But he really didn't expect something this shocking.
Even in the supernatural world, not everyone knows about magic.
Especially among mutants, most probably don't even know magic exists, and have never seen it.
Red Devil was different.
In his long life, he had seen many strange things.
He had traveled to almost every part of the world and met nearly every kind of supernatural group—including the hidden sorcerers of Kamar-Taj.
So when he saw the magic circle on the ground, he immediately thought of Kamar-Taj.
"Could it be that he's not a mutant, but a real sorcerer?" Red Devil looked at Raymond's back, full of thoughts.
He didn't know if Juggernaut was aware of this or if he just didn't mention it.
Still, even if Raymond wasn't a mutant, it wouldn't surprise him.
As one of the oldest members of the Hellfire Club, he had joined even before Juggernaut—the so-called Black King—and he was one of the few who knew Juggernaut wasn't a mutant either.
If even the leader of the Hellfire Club isn't a mutant, then letting another non-mutant join as a core member isn't a big deal.
What really concerned him was whether Raymond joining the Hellfire Club had anything to do with Kamar-Taj.
"Cain is playing with fire..." Red Devil frowned.
Even so, he didn't take his eyes off the fight between Raymond and the Shadow Kings.
Once the huge magic circle appeared, the Shadow Kings looked like they were in terrible pain, as if countless needles were stabbing them at once.
"Bashimo ya, agudo, smoshi deloo…"
Raymond didn't stop. He kept his arms raised in front of his chest, chanting fast and strange words that no one could understand, speaking faster and faster!
"ROAR!!!"
Suddenly, the Shadow Kings let out a loud howl toward the sky!
From their mouths came thick, black mist—something between real and unreal—quickly gathering in the air to form a massive shadow over ten meters wide!
Once the mist left their bodies, they all collapsed, just like David had earlier.
At the same time, the giant shadow in the sky kept twisting and changing!
A fierce, terrifying face appeared from the mist, looking down at Raymond!
From that face, it was clear the Shadow King was still in pain, but not as badly as before.
"Oh my god, this isn't just any ghost king… good thing I didn't try to act tough..." The exorcist personality clicked his tongue after seeing the huge shadow in the sky through Raymond's eyes.
"Is this… a cheap version of Dormammu?"
Raymond felt that this scene looked very familiar.
Dormammu usually appeared in a similar form—a face that seemed half-real and half-imaginary—but far more massive and majestic than the Shadow King's current state.
Of course, their power levels weren't even close.
"This kid really knows how to handle troublesome enemies…"
Seeing the Shadow King forced to give up all his clones after just a few moves from the John Constantine personality, even the Akainu personality gave some rare praise. But he still asked, "Still, this trick doesn't seem strong enough to hurt that big one formed in the air. Should I step in?"
That last question was clearly directed at Raymond.
"No need. Let's wait and see," Raymond refused Akainu's offer.
He believed that John still had more tricks up his sleeve—otherwise, he would've died ages ago.
Sure enough, just as Raymond turned him down, the battle changed again—
"You! Want! To! Die!"
The Shadow King, now a massive face in the sky, saw "Raymond" still calmly chanting and letting the magic circle attack him. That instantly made him furious!
In a flash, he rushed toward Raymond like a storm cloud!
He wanted to shift the battle—to target Raymond directly!
As a spiritual entity, direct combat wasn't his strength—his specialty was mental attacks!
As long as he could latch onto Raymond, he believed victory would be his. After all, not everyone was like Professor X and could defeat him on the spiritual plane.
"Watch Out!"
Red Devil, watching from the side, saw the Shadow King's move and instinctively got ready to help Raymond.
He turned his body, trying to enter the red mist dimension to pull Raymond out—to ruin the Shadow King's plan.
But at that moment, he suddenly realized… he couldn't access the red mist dimension!
"Damn it, what's going on?!"
His face changed instantly!
That space was his biggest survival card. He had escaped death countless times using that power. Even if his enemy was stronger, he could always run away.
But now—this was the first time he'd been cut off from it.
"Shadow King? No… it's the magic circle!"
Red Devil quickly figured it out. It wasn't the Shadow King—it was the huge magic circle on the ground.
The spell might not have targeted him on purpose, but anyone within the circle was probably affected.
Clearly, it was meant to prevent the Shadow King from escaping.
It just happened to stop him from teleporting too.
"Well… I guess I can't be blamed for not saving you." Red Devil gave up the idea.
Without teleportation, even if he wanted to help, it was too late.
As the Shadow King's massive face rushed closer and closer—so close that even the terrifying details were clear—Raymond didn't move.
Then, when the distance shrank to less than three meters, Raymond suddenly stomped the ground!
The giant magic circle on the ground suddenly flew into the air—like a giant net wrapping around the shadowy face—and quickly shrank, turning into a glowing ball the size of a fist!
But this ball was very unstable. It kept shaking, like it was about to explode any second.
Raymond jumped up and caught the ball!
Then, he dashed toward Dr. Beth, who was still stunned by what she was seeing—and before she could react, he shoved the glowing ball into her mouth—
"Gulp!"
Dr. Beth swallowed it without thinking.
