Marvel: Starting as a Time Criminal, Stealing Powers

Chapter 31: 031 One Shot, One Loki!

Russell had no intention of leaving empty-handed now that he was here.

Standing in the shadows, he suddenly said:

"Sorry to interrupt—"

"Anyone here know illusion magic?"

The sudden voice startled all four Lokis in the cave.

"Who said that?!"

"Someone's here!"

"Damn it, you idiot! You actually led someone to us!"

"Shut up! I was luring the enemy in on purpose!"

"Get lost, you brain-dead fool! I'm definitely not trading with you tomorrow!"

"You're gonna die before that, moron!"

"F**k it, I'll kill you first!"

Even though Russell knew most Loki variants behaved this way, he was still caught off guard.

They hadn't even seen him yet and were already fighting amongst themselves—physically, no less!

Classic.

At that moment, one Loki in a baseball cap got kicked across the room by another variant.

He was about to get up and retaliate, but when he looked up from the ground, he froze—then pointed to the shadows with a look of surprise.

"Look!"

"I found the intruder! Hahaha! It's just one guy!"

Russell glanced at his position and felt speechless.

Was I even hiding...?

Sure, he was in the shadows, but it wasn't exactly pitch black.

The other three Lokis stopped fighting. After confirming it really was just one person, they all burst into laughter.

"Where did this dumb Loki come from, walking in alone?"

"It's been a while since someone delivered themselves to our doorstep!"

"Hah! I told you I was luring the enemy in, but none of you believed me! See? I'm clearly the smartest here!"

"Alright, alright—"

"This time, you get credit for the catch!"

"Just remember, if your internal organs get messed up, Loki still needs them."

Russell was stunned again.

Wow. Did I just become a scapegoat?

This guy's lying with a straight face and steady heartbeat. Respect.

Then, one of the Lokis, the one who first spotted him, squinted suspiciously.

"He doesn't really look like a Viking. Are you sure it's him?"

Another Loki leaned in and studied Russell carefully before nodding confidently:

"It's him!"

"Look at the tattoo on his wrist—evil spider totem. Vikings love tattoos. No mistake!"

"And the eyes—brown. Classic Viking eyes."

The other Lokis nodded seriously, as if the explanation made perfect sense.

Even Russell had to agree.

If they kept going, they'd probably convince me I was a Viking Loki.

He sighed, stepped out of the shadows, and said calmly:

"I don't usually lose patience so easily."

"But you—unfortunately, you'll have to die first."

He raised his right hand and mimicked a gun, pointing directly at the boasting Loki.

"Haha!"

The cocky Loki burst into laughter.

"Didn't think he was a mental patient. Maybe Thor smashed his head before they pruned him."

The other Lokis roared with laughter.

The cave was filled with joy, completely ignoring the fact that they were seconds from killing each other just moments ago.

"Go ahead!"

The smug Loki tapped his temple with a smirk.

"Right here—one shot. Make it painless."

"This place is meaningless anyway. I should be thanking you!"

Russell nodded calmly.

"I was going to aim for your chest—let you feel the pain first."

"But since you're so eager, I'll grant your wish."

The Loki grinned even wider and stuck his head out.

"Don't be shy. Aim for the forehead."

The other Lokis waited eagerly for the show.

Russell gave them a sincere smile and said softly:

"Bang."

"Hah—"

The laughter stopped.

Completely.

The Lokis froze in place as if time had stopped.

Their eyes widened in horror as warm red splattered across their faces.

And just like that, one Loki's head vanished.

His body crumpled to the ground—

Still smiling, just… somewhere else now.

Russell gave them a harmless smile, then slowly pointed his finger at the next one.

"What's wrong? Not laughing anymore?"

The Loki being targeted nearly cried.

"I swear I wasn't laughing! I didn't even smile! Do you believe me?!"

Not all Loki variants were Frost Giants, and this one was definitely regretting every life decision.

As for dodging?

He hadn't even seen the move.

Just bang—and Loki brain matter everywhere.

He could still taste that guy in the air.

Russell tilted his head slightly.

"I don't believe you."

His finger twitched twice.

Two more Lokis dropped, dead before they hit the ground.

The last Loki didn't even try to resist—he dropped to his knees instantly.

"Big bro—no, no, Great Master!"

"I know illusion magic! Way more useful than those three pieces of trash!"

He remembered clearly—Russell's first question had been about illusion magic.

I know it! I swear I know it!

And with the survival instincts of someone who once worked under Thanos, he played his best card.

Sure enough, Russell smiled.

He thought he was safe.

"Bang."

Loki's face froze mid-smile.

He looked down at the fist-sized, smoking hole in his chest. Confusion filled his eyes before he collapsed to the floor.

Russell casually blew on his fingers.

"Not bad. Worth the visit after all."
