Chapter 15: Chapter 14 Professor-X
"It doesn't make sense," Venom said as it poked its head from David's body.
"There is simply no species like you."
"Well, I guess I'm a unique species, then," David replied. Venom went silent for a few seconds as David continued flying toward Tony's beach mansion.
David flew slowly through the night sky, the cold breeze brushing against his face, his eyes scanned the streets filled with people below.
He thought about the anger he once held against the country. But the country was made up of innocent civilians.
Was his anger towards innocent civilians justified?
Absolutely not, David thought to himself.
the only people he would let get affected by his anger were the ones that trapped him, used and disposed him.
Should he become a hero?
David shook his head at the thought. He couldn't picture himself saving kittens from trees, stopping car chases, or handling minor-level villains.
There were going to be enough heroes in the world to handle those situations.
An idea struck him.
Maybe he could create his own version of The Avengers.
"Are you... a young god?" Venom suddenly asked.
"I'm flattered, but no, I'm not a young god in the traditional sense," David replied.
Post-crisis Superman was insanely powerful, but not a god.
He didn't have control over a certain domain of power, like death or infinity. He was just incredibly powerful.
"Oh, are there other people like you?"
"No," David said as he landed in front of Tony's mansion.
"Go back in," David communicated to Venom through his thoughts for the first time.
Venom understood what David wanted and retracted its head back into his clothes.
David pushed the door open and walked in, spotting Tony in an Iron Man suit different from the one he had worn the last time David was there. It looked awfully similar to the Mark 3 suit.
"Hey, Tony, can you get me a lot of chocolate?"
"Didn't peg you for the kind to have a sweet tooth," Tony remarked.
"Pepper, you're busy. You should be on your way," Tony said, glancing at Pepper, who stood frozen in place, staring at David.
"Is... that him?"
"Hey, Pepper, nice to meet you," David smiled and casually waved at her.
"Fight me, David," Tony said, his tone serious.
"What? Why would I do that?" David asked. He knew Tony felt confident in his new suit, but David was certain he'd win.
David could tell that since his appearence, Tony had sped up the building of the suit and managed to complete it in a single day.
"I'll get you the chocolate," Tony said.
"Hmm, no, I have a better idea, Tony. Why don't you join me?"
"What?"
"Yeah, let's say I know the future for a second, alright? I know this world is going to get much more chaotic, so I figured, why not create a team to handle these planetary threats while I take care of the universal ones?"
"Hold on, what do you mean by universal threats? And no, I'm not joining your band of superheroes. Also, you can see the future?"
"I don't want toys for kids made about me," Tony added.
David sensed Tony's reluctance, so he decided to appeal to his better nature.
"Want to make a bet? If I win, you join. If you win, I'll fulfill any request you have."
"You think Im stupid, Ill inevitably lose"
"Hiw about I use a quarter of my powers" David said knowing that even if he used less then a quarter, it would be enough to defeat Tony.
"Lower, 1/10 of your power, to keep it fair, i just built this suit and haven't had the time to fully test it"
"Sure 1/10 it is"
"Hmm, okay. I want to study you—how you work. You'll have to tell me everything, if I win" Tony said, pointing at David, who chuckled.
"Deal."
"Let's move away from here," Tony said, activating his thrusters. David floated off the ground alongside him.
"Be careful, Tony," Pepper said, her face straight, showing neither worry nor care, seeing how David was acting with Tony, she didn't feel as threatened by David anymore.
"Miss Potts, your lack of sympathy really wounds my heart," Tony said, pressing his palm to his chest.
"I don't think she likes you, Tony," David chuckled.
"Nah, she loves me," Tony laughed.
The mansion's large balconies automatically opened, thanks to Jarvis and Tony's thrusters ignited with force as he flew out of the mansion at high speed.
David watched Tony fly, almost reaching a quarter of Mach 1.
"Please don't hurt him too badly, I'd lose my job if the company shuts down." Pepper said with a hint of nervousness still in her voice.
"Don't worry, Ms. Potts, I'll only pepper him a little," David said with a chuckle, flying after Tony.
Twenty minutes later, Tony lay on a stretcher, being pushed into the emergency room.
David stood there, watching as Tony was wheeled away, his unconscious body lying limp.
David was about to leave, but he heard the sound of someone approaching, someone familiar so he waited.
Soon, a luxurious limo pulled up, and out stepped a man with a red visor.
"Hey, Superman, we'd like to talk. Would you mind coming with us?"
"Sure," David said with a smile to Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops.
Scott gestured for David to step into the car, where Charles Xavier was waiting and Logan was disguised as a chauffeur.
David asked venom to form a hoodie and cover his head.
This being another reason David had gotten a symbiote, they can stop mind readers like Charles.
Scott watched as a black hoodie appeared in Davids body, which also covered his head in confusion.
David walked into the car and saw Charles Xavier, who looked remarkably similar to his movie counterpart.
"Hello, Superman," Charles greeted with a warm smile.
Scott shut the door and stood outside as a guard.
David sat across from Charles with a smile.
"It's great to finally meet the renowned Mr. Xavier," David said.
"You've heard of me?" Charles asked, a bit surprised.
"Of course, anyone with an interest in the world knows about you—the man who founded a school for mutants and taught them to control their abilities."
"Well, it's an honor to have someone so powerful interested in us, which brings me to why I'm here," Charles said, piquing David's curiosity.
"How about a partnership? We look out for you, and you look out for us mutants," Charles proposed, causing David to fall silent.
He thought for a moment.
If he got involved with the mutants, he'd be stepping into some seriously dangerous waters.
The trade off was that he would have the support of the Mutants.
