------------
Later that day, Hermione walked towards the Gryffindor dormitory alone. Even now, she still couldn't believe everything she had seen today.
It was all too incredible, making her feel as if she were in a dream.
Initially, Hermione had thought she wouldn't get any results this time, and she had already prepared herself to approach Noah and his group again later.
But what she never expected was that Noah and his group had actually agreed right away!
Of course, just agreeing wasn't the shocking part. The real surprise was that Noah and his friends took her to the eighth floor.
"Why are we here? Do you all study here?" Hermione asked, following Noah and his group curiously.
She had heard that Noah and his friends rarely studied in the common room, seemingly having their own secret gathering place.
But no one knew where it was. After every lesson, apart from meals, they would completely vanish from sight.
"Just follow us, Miss Granger. Some things are not easy to explain here," Noah reminded her in a low voice before falling silent.
Looking at the quiet group, Hermione had no choice but to follow along, though she couldn't help but feel a little worried.
She wondered whether she was about to join an organization that violated school rules—or worse, something outright illegal.
Just as Hermione was lost in thought, Noah suddenly stopped in front of a stretch of blank wall covered by a tapestry, making Hermione even more confused.
What was going on? Why did he stop here? Was this like Platform 9¾?
Hermione didn't recall anything special about this particular spot on the eighth floor. It was the same floor where the Gryffindor common room was located, so she had been here plenty of times.
Watching Noah lead the way inside, while Evan and the others impatiently followed, Hermione hesitated for only a moment before stepping in as well.
Since she wanted to learn from them, she needed to understand them first. And if something seemed wrong, she could always seek help from Professor Dumbledore, right?
The moment she stepped inside, Hermione was shocked yet again.
The room was far larger than she had imagined, and the walls were lined with massive bookshelves—each one packed with an astonishing variety of books!
She didn't need to check to know that they had collected all the textbooks from the upper years!
This was truly an ocean of knowledge!
Hermione had no doubt that any student who loved studying would find immense benefits from coming here.
Apart from the bookshelves, there were also various workstations in the center of the room, fully stocked with potion-brewing equipment.
Of course, there were also items needed for spell practice—countless props for different types of magical training!
"What on earth is this place?" Hermione asked in disbelief.
"Alright, Miss Granger, let Noah explain this to you. Damn it, where are Professor Snape's notes? He kept asking all sorts of ridiculous questions today. Even though he was targeting Noah, Merlin knows if he'll start picking on me next time. I don't want to be on a snake's radar."
Kenn and the others had no intention of answering Hermione's question. To them, this was Noah's responsibility.
Besides, Noah was progressing much faster than them, so they needed to use their time wisely to catch up.
Watching the three of them rush off to different sections, rummaging through shelves and cabinets, Noah simply shrugged. Then, with a snap of his fingers, a table and two chairs appeared before them.
"Sit down, Miss Granger. We have quite a lot to talk about, and I imagine you have many questions."
"Call me Hermione. And yes, I have a lot of questions. Everything here is unbelievable."
Once they sat down, Noah rubbed his chin, thinking about where to begin.
But after some thought, he decided that since he was in control of the conversation, he would simply tell her what he wanted her to know.
"Alright, Hermione, tell me your questions." Noah smiled.
"What is this place? And does Professor Dumbledore or any of the other professors know about it?" Hermione swallowed hard before voicing her concerns.
"This place is called the Room of Requirement. I don't know who built it, and honestly, I'm not interested in finding out. Its function is to fulfill any request—within a certain 'reasonable range.' My request was to obtain more knowledge."
"So that's why…"
Hermione gestured towards the massive bookshelves behind her, the countless books stacked upon them.
"Exactly," Noah confirmed.
"As for your second question, that's a bit more complicated, but I'll keep it simple. Professor Dumbledore knows about us and this place. He also made us some promises and set a few conditions for me."
"What conditions?" Hermione asked. She felt relieved knowing Dumbledore was aware of this, but she still wanted to understand his terms.
Noah smiled.
"On the night after we fought the troll, Evan and I had a private meeting with Professor Dumbledore. We explained that this place was perfect for us—or, more specifically, for wizards who crave knowledge like we do."
"But we also knew that if our group remained small, we wouldn't be able to use this place as our base for long. So, we planned to slowly gather like-minded students and, once we had enough people, formally present our case to Professor Dumbledore."
"Unfortunately, I got unlucky. I found Professor Snape's old notes and learned some of his spells. Then, when I used that magic against the troll, I was caught, so I had to confess everything to Dumbledore ahead of schedule."
At this point, Noah noticed Hermione's face reddening slightly.
Clearly, she felt guilty—like she was the reason his plans had been disrupted.
With an amused smile, Noah chose not to correct her misunderstanding. A little guilt might actually work in his favor.
"So, I told Professor Dumbledore about our plan and named our organization the 'Mage Alliance.' This room would serve as our headquarters. While Dumbledore approved of our idea, he set one condition: our alliance must include members from all four houses."
"Members from all four houses?" Hermione's mind quickly connected the dots. Suddenly, she understood why they had seemed so happy when she asked to join.
"That's right, Hermione. Besides Ravenclaw, we need students from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. If we meet this condition, Dumbledore will officially recognize our alliance by the end of the year. Do you understand?"
"I understand."
Hermione nodded. Noah had explained everything clearly. If she didn't understand this, she wouldn't be worthy of joining them.
She had already made up her mind—she would join them!
Looking around at the vast collection of books, combined with her desire to improve, Hermione knew she had no resistance to this opportunity.
However, she still had one lingering question.
"Noah… if—hypothetically—someone decides not to join after you talk to them, what would you do?"
Noah's response was calm and direct.
"It's simple. I'll cast a Memory Charm on them so they forget everything about this place. Isn't that obvious?"
