Marvel: The Death Surgeon

Chapter 27: Chapter 27:Nick Fury.

General P.O.V

-S.H.I.E.L.D base--

Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., had always kept a close eye on the emergence of aliens and superhumans. Now in the past decade he had heard and seen about individuals with unique powers called Mutants .With the recent discovery of mutants like Magneto, Professor X and Sebastian Shaw Fury's interest was piqued.

Nick Fury leaned back in his chair, the weight of the world security resting on his shoulders. He was reading the reports he has received from the CIA about the different mutants. The recent discovery of mutants had thrown a curveball into his carefully laid plans. Magneto and Charles Xavier, two powerful mutants with their own agendas, were shaking things up, and Fury couldn't afford to ignore them.

Fury thought "Magneto and Charles Xavier Two sides of the same coin, but with very different approaches. Magneto's a force to be reckoned with, controlling metal like it's an extension of himself. Charles Xavier, on the other hand, has the power to read minds, erase memories and even alter them. They're just the tip of the iceberg."

Fury knew that mutants were a game-changer. Their abilities presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities for organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D. to navigate.

Fury thought 'Mutants bring a whole new level of unpredictability to the table. With their powers manifesting in various forms, we need to be prepared for anything. They can be potential allies or threats, depending on their choices and motivations.'

As Fury dug deeper into the mutant phenomenon, he stumbled upon the person named death Surgeon who according to the CIA reports was a mercenary hired by Charles to fight with Shaw. He also found out that he single handedly beat Shaw and his lackeys according to the report made by CIA agent Moira MacTaggert who was with the mutants on their mission to stop Sebastian Shaw but her memories of Charles and other mutants were unclear and fuzzy but she had memories about this mutant and also about the powers and goals of other mutants including Charles and Erik. She didn't have the memories of where they were currently though or how they looked.

What he didn't know was Law had asked Charles that if he removed Moira's memories then he should not remove her memories of the death Surgeon.

Why you ask? Simple, other people would know about him and then contact him for his mercenary services. It was free publicity for him.

Fury said aloud "A Mercenary and a doctor who can heal any disease, injury huh? The report says he showed powers of teleportation, telekinesis, sensory abilities, swordsmanship and some unknown abilities. They could be a game-changer, not just for mutants but for the entire world. Someone with that much power, is worth keeping an eye on."

Fury recognized the potential implications of this individual's powers. But he has seen Carol Denver powers so he wasn't fazed much by it

As Fury contemplated the emergence of mutants and the mysterious mercenary, he knew that his role was to gather intelligence, understand the extent of these individuals' powers, and assess the potential impact on global security.

Fury thought "We're entering a new era, one where enhanced individuals are no longer limited to just two or three. It's time to adapt, to learn, and to stay ahead of the game. The world just got a whole lot more interesting. And S.H.I.E.L.D. will be at the forefront, ready to handle whatever comes its way.

"Maria, Coulson, sit down. We've got a situation on our hands," Fury called his long time partner Coulson and the recently joined agent Maria Hill, "These mutants are playing a dangerous game, and we can't afford to let them run wild."

Maria Hill crossed her arms, her expression serious. "Director Fury, what do we know about them? Are they a threat to global security?"

Fury drummed his fingers on the table, contemplating his next move. "Magneto, aka Erik Lehnsherr, has control over magnetism. He believes mutants are superior to humans. He's dangerous, Maria, and he won't hesitate to use his powers to further his cause."

Coulson chimed in, concern etched on his face. "And what about Charles Xavier sir? He seems to be advocating for peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans."

Fury raised an eyebrow, his skepticism evident. "Peaceful coexistence, huh? Sounds like a pipe dream to me, Coulson. Xavier may have good intentions, but his powers of telepathy and mind control make him just as formidable as Magneto. We can't ignore the potential dangers lurking beneath their shiny ideals."

Maria Hill thought 'So, we've got one mutant fighting against humanity and another one trying to unite them?'

The trio fell into a momentary silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Fury took a deep breath before continuing, his voice laden with determination. "We should prepare our own weapons against them. The Avengers initiative still has a long way to go. But we can start by recruiting these Mutants. Let's start with this Death Surgeon."

Agent Hill said "Director, we don't know much about this person. Is he even trustworthy?"

Fury smirked, his eyes glinting "Trustworthy? Hard to say, Maria. But what I do know is he possesses immense abilities. We don't know his identity yet. But we're going to find out. I want you to gather every resource available and dig deep into this mutant's background. We need to know who he is, where he comes from, and what his motivations are"

Phil Coulson asked "And if we do find out his identity, sir?"

Nick Fury said "Then we offer him a place with us. He's clearly someone who could tip the scales in our favor. With his powers and our resources, we could make a real difference."

Maria Hill then asked an important question "But what if he's aligned with Magneto or Xavier?"

Nick Fury answered "Then we'll have to proceed with caution. The world is changing, and mutants are a part of that change. We need to adapt and be prepared."

Coulson raised an eyebrow, a mix of curiosity and caution on his face. "Should we find and approach other mutants and recruit them sir?"

Fury nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Absolutely, Coulson. We need all the firepower we can get, especially with mutants with powers like Magneto and Charles Xavier that can cause widespread destruction easily. Bring them in, but tread lightly. We don't know where their loyalties lie."

As the meeting came to a close, Fury stood up, his voice firm and commanding. "Keep your eyes and ears open, you two. We're about to step into a whole new world, and we can't afford any missteps. The mutants have arrived, and it's our job to ensure they don't tear everything apart."
