Marvel : The God Of Punishment System

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Ancient One, I'll Avenge You!

Nick Fury surfaced one final time through the toxic green waste, gasping for breath as his skin began dissolving. He jabbed an accusatory finger at Jason.

"We'll meet again, you bastard! We'll meet again!"

Jason scoffed dismissively. "Sure we will - if you hire another Skrull to impersonate you posthumously!"

Fury vanished beneath the roiling chemicals with a sickening gurgle.

Minutes later, Jason's system chimed:

Diamond Tier Target Progress: 2/3

Apparently even the legendary Nick Fury wouldn't gain superpowers from this particular industrial accident.

...

Days after returning to Avengers headquarters, President Freeman clandestinely delivered the promised nuclear warheads. Jason inspected his new arsenal - four vintage nukes with yields ranging from fifty kilotons to a hundred megatons.

The ICBM he'd acquired earlier carried multiple independent warheads, but missiles proved impractical for interdimensional warfare. He'd need to extract the warheads and rig them as timed explosives.

Excitement coursed through him at the prospect of immediate deployment. Even accounting for dimensional power reduction, each nuke should vaporize tens of thousands of demons. Seventy to eighty thousand casualties would satisfy him perfectly.

The kill streak rewards alone would grant unimaginable attribute bonuses. With those enhancements, godhood on Earth seemed achievable.

One punch delivering one hundred tons of force - could anyone withstand that?

But Hell remained an unknown destination. The demon horn's teleportation coordinates remained a mystery. Materializing in some remote hellscape region could prove fatal.

More pressing concerns existed: Did Hell feature urban centers or population hubs?

After careful consideration, he identified the solution - Master Ancient One!

Thanks to his previous reconnaissance, he knew Kamar-Taj's exact location. Two outstanding issues required resolution alongside this nuclear delivery.

First: the Asgardian princes, Thor and Loki.

Thor's earthly experience had tempered him considerably. As a powerless mortal, he'd gained genuine empathy for regular citizens and soldiers. No warrior desired endless conflict.

Meanwhile, Loki's stint doing Frank's dirty work proved ineffective. Jason assigned him a new identity - Avengers-affiliated street hero.

For a neglected child craving validation from Odin and Frigga, Loki needed recognition, not coronation. Deep inside, heroism called to him. Thor's brilliant legacy merely overshadowed his desire for glory.

Initially, the Third Prince of Asgard disdained New York street-tier heroics. His magical capabilities felt limited.

Jason's solution proved elegantly cruel: imprison Loki in powered armor, remotely control his actions, force heroic deeds! Additionally, stage emergencies where Thor rescued his "heroic" brother. Even require Loki to patrol neighborhoods, accepting civilian gratitude.

The transformation proved gradual:

Stage one: disgust, hatred, cursing, terror

Stage two: when resistance failed, acceptance emerged

While public adoration didn't transform him completely, noticeable changes emerged. When Thor discovered his brother's superhero activities, he enthusiastically formed a fan club.

When Jason next approached them with "threats" of Asgardian return, both princes exchanged uncertain glances. Their homeland now felt... distant, almost foreign.

...

At Nepal's Kamar-Taj, Jason's previous assistance granted immediate audience with the Sorcerer Supreme. Watching apprentice mages practice in the courtyard, curiosity overtook him.

"Master, do I possess magical aptitude? I'm genuinely committed to self-improvement! Perhaps I'm destined to become the next Sorcerer Supreme?"

"You do not." Ancient One's reply carried arctic finality.

"Harsh!"

Loki interjected cheerfully, "I'd gladly mentor you. The Nine Realms' greatest magician stands before you!"

Jason studied him skeptically. "Beat Ancient One in combat first. Win, and I'll submit to your tutelage."

Loki gazed skyward dramatically. "Ha! I never strike women."

"Says the 'master magician' who loses close-combat to mortal man," Jason mocked.

"I merely fell for your dirty tactics! Face me honorably!"

Jason brandished Mjolnir meaningfully. "Fair fight? One swing would obliterate you!"

Loki turned to his brother. "Thor, surely you're reclaiming the hammer?"

Thor's expression darkened with melancholy. "I remain... uncertain. Father's spirit must curse my unworthiness!"

"Oh shit..." Loki paled visibly. Forgot to clarify Odin's survival. Thor's violence might resume.

Although powerless now, I could finally dominate him physically!

The prospect excited him tremendously.

Inside the temple hall, Ancient One cut straight to business. "Will you exchange the Asgardians now?"

"Sure. The All-Father yearns for his sons' return, correct?"

She sipped tea unhurriedly. "Odin recently awakened - eating heartily, sleeping soundly. Time isn't critical."

Thor exploded. "WHAT? Father lives?"

Jason indicated the fleeing Loki. "Your brother fabricated Odin's death to usurp your throne."

"YOU!" Thor's face reddened with rage, veins bulging.

Unable to escape, Loki tackled Thor preemptively. "Control yourself, brother! Momentary madness drove those actions..."

Ignoring the wrestling princes, Jason addressed Ancient One.

"Additionally... I wish to avenge Mephisto's Earth invasion on your behalf!"

Ancient One regarded him thoughtfully. "You? Avenging me?"

"Absolutely! Everyone knows Earth enjoys your protection, Master. These dimensional demons brazenly invading display profound disrespect. Though I courageously stopped Mephisto previously, blood feuds demanded satisfaction.

"Understanding your countless responsibilities, I'd gladly shoulder this vengeance burden... partially, of course!"

"Your intentions?" Ancient One asked without raising her eyes.

"Nuclear detonation! Complete obliteration!"

Her face twitched imperceptibly at the unexpected strategy.

"Execute your plan yourself. Why involve me?"

Jason's smile widened. "Accessing Hell poses significant challenges. Can't exactly locate demonic cities randomly! I need direct teleportation to urban centers!

"Nuclear bombardment ensuring Mephisto's tearful demise! Every demon understanding the consequences of challenging Master Ancient One!"

Ancient One's prolonged stare unsettled Jason. Impressed by my heroic sacrifice?

Finally, she shook her head. "Hell maintains dimensional defenses. Direct city teleportation proves impossible. I can transport you to nearby wastelands exclusively."

Jason considered this acceptable. His Absolute Zero Dimension functionality remained crucial. Though city infiltration using demonic disguise seemed questionable.

"Master, any spells for authentic demon transformation?"

"You already possess one."

"Which?"

"Hellfire."

Ancient One clarified, "Maintain brief deception only."

All preparations complete except timing.

Suddenly standing, Ancient One declared, "Asgard first. Upon return, I'll facilitate your hellish journey!"

Jason protested nervously. "Shouldn't Hell come first? If Odin reclaims Mjolnir, I'm defenseless!"

Ancient One manifested a portal. "Odin demands immediate audience. His consultation might alter your hellish ambitions."

Jason brightened. "Has he acknowledged my prophesied destiny? Maybe an investment from the All-Father!"

"Let just go!"

Through the portal, Asgard's resplendent throne room gleamed magnificently. Before stepping through, Jason sought reassurance.

"You'll protect me, correct? Master Ancient One, whom I've aided twice and will assist thrice?"

"Stop being so extra!" Ancient One gestured, portal advancing to engulf him. She followed leisurely.

The wrestling brothers Thor and Loki froze mid-combat. "Wait... aren't we coming?"

Flames suddenly erupted beneath them, portal materializing to swallow both princes.

Inside Asgard's golden hall - nearly blinding in its opulence - Jason steadied himself just as heavy impacts sounded nearby.

Thor's ecstatic shout rang out: "Father! You live! Magnificent news!"

Usually stoic God-King Odin couldn't suppress an eye-roll at his son's idiocy.

Loki scrambled upright, shouting frantically: "Guards! Security! Apprehend these Midgardian palace intruders immediately!"

SLAM!

Odin struck Gungnir against marble floors. "Silence, sons! Haven't recent lessons taught humility enough?

"Withdraw! Both of you!"

Under the All-Father's withering glare, both princes retreated reluctantly. Jason caught Loki whispering conspiratorially:

"Where's your legendary defiance, brother? Spent all rebellious courage, apparently!"

"Silence, treacherous sibling! I've recognized past errors finally!"

Odin fixed Jason with an imperious stare.

"YOU steal my Mjolnir, imprisoned both princes, intending blackmail against me?"

"Absolutely not! Don't misconstrue events!" Jason protested vehemently. "YOU declared 'whoever lifts Mjolnir inherits Thor power - how's that theft?

"Furthermore, I've ASSISTED your sons' development, God-King!"
