Marvel: The Tokyo Avengers

Chapter 68: EPISODE 68 — “The Mirror of Erasure”

"To face what was forgotten, they must enter the place no one remembers."

Previously:

Nullpriest, the Tenth Forgotten, has begun erasing Tokyo from existence — removing people, places, and meaning itself.

Through fractured sigils, memory echoes, and a sealed shrine, the Avengers located the Void Mirror — a lost underground chamber where the child inside Nullpriest may still exist.

The team must descend into the Mirror… but only those who carry broken memories may pass through.

🎬 [ACT I — The Descent Begins]

Scene: Tokyo Metro – Abandoned Sector 0

Long hidden from the public, a sealed metro tunnel sits behind an overgrown gate. The tracks no longer exist — replaced by pure black floor that reflects no light.

Scarlet Onna raises a finger wrapped in spellthread.

SCARLET ONNA (focused):

"This place was cut from memory, not time. That's why no one remembers building it."

NEKOBURST (arms crossed):

"If we go in… will we remember each other?"

STARWAVE (solemn):

"We'll remember.

I've got your frequencies memorized."

Heartlight steps beside her, touching her hand briefly before glowing with soft radiant energy.

HEARTLIGHT:

"Stay close. Emotion grounds memory."

Kuro's claws glow silver, reflecting on the black glass-like ground.

KURO:

"Then let's go meet the ghost that forgot how to die."

🎬 [ACT II — Welcome to the Mirror]

Scene: Inside the Void Mirror

They enter a realm of shimmering inverted cities, floating kanji, and long stretches of dead language hanging in the air like fog.

Reflections move out of sync. When Nekoburst blinks, she sees her younger self standing across from her — and then gone.

ONMYO FLARE (chanting):

"This place is stitched from what people forgot. A mirror not of light… but of loss."

Suddenly, the group is split.

Kuro and Xylo fall into a spiraling staircase.

Starwave, Heartlight, and Nekoburst drift into a shattered school auditorium.

Scarlet Onna and Onmyo Flare are trapped within a looping shrine corridor.

🐺 Kuro & Xylo – The Stair of Names

They descend endlessly — until they come across a name wall carved in claws and knives:

"XYLO // REJECTED // ERASED // SLICED //"

XYLO (eyes narrowing):

"This place... knows what I've done."

KURO (softly):

"We all carry sins. But you fight for something now."

Suddenly, Nullpriest appears in the form of Xylo's father — his voice split in multiple tones.

NULLPRIEST:

"What's one more erased killer in the world?"

XYLO (clenching fists):

"I don't need a name to cut you."

They fight in brutal close quarters — slashes, claw clashes, walls fracturing with every blow. Xylo finally stabs both hands through the illusion, shattering it.

They find a broken mirror behind the wall… and a boy's voice whispers:

CHILD:

"Please… I didn't want to be a spell…"

💘 Starwave, Heartlight, Nekoburst – Lost Auditorium

They land in an auditorium filled with cardboard audience cutouts — all facing an empty spotlight stage.

Suddenly, a version of Starwave's idol self appears — perfect, robotic, and smiling.

FAKE STARWAVE:

"You were never real. Just noise wrapped in glitter."

STARWAVE (quietly):

"I made my fans scream. I made villains bleed.

I'm real enough."

She blasts the illusion with a triple heel drop, cracking the floor.

Heartlight supports her, spreading radiant wings over the audience. Nekoburst leaps from shadow to shadow, slicing at fake cheering mouths.

In the center of the stage is a microphone pulsing with Nullpriest's energy.

HEARTLIGHT:

"That's one of the seals. He's split into anchors."

They take it — and the auditorium collapses like paper.

🧵 Scarlet Onna & Onmyo Flare – Shrine of Loops

They walk in circles — endlessly — until the shrine resets.

Scarlet Onna begins cutting her own thread tattoos, bleeding real sigils into the loop.

SCARLET ONNA:

"This is the magic I paid for. If you want blood to bind, I'll give it."

ONMYO FLARE (placing a charm):

"Together."

They tear the loop open — revealing a small, glowing child's drawing at the center:

A picture of a little boy holding hands with a hero.

On the back is a line:

"My name is… [ERASED]."

🎬 [ACT III — The Child Within Null]

The team regroups inside a massive chamber of floating broken glass. In the center floats a transparent cocoon, with a small boy inside — eyes closed, crying ink.

Nullpriest rises from behind him. This time… larger. Faces scream. Glyphs rearrange.

NULLPRIEST (in distorted tones):

"You broke the Mirror. Now I break you."

They all charge.

Kuro leaps in with beast-form claws and slashes across Null's chest.

Xylo follows with a clean hand slice, carving through the floating sigils.

Nekoburst hits high-speed teleport combos.

Starwave smashes a new tempo-shock through the cocoon.

Onmyo Flare calls a binding flame dragon, burning backward-written glyphs.

Heartlight channels love into a spear of pure light and pierces Null's shadow form.

Scarlet Onna stitches the boy's real name back into the air.

SCARLET ONNA (shouting):

"Your name… is KAI!"

🎬 [ENDING SCENE — Kai Awakens]

The cocoon cracks.

The boy inside opens his eyes.

Suddenly — all of Nullpriest shrieks, then collapses inward like a black hole.

Tokyo begins to repair itself.

But the boy is still floating.

KAI (quietly):

"What… am I now?"

KURO (approaching gently):

"You're Kai. You were used. But you're free."
