Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 314: C202

Doflamingo displayed the spirit of a king from a very young age, which is why the Diamanti placed heavy bets on him and presented him with the String-String Fruit.

This kind of overwhelming presence is disastrous for ordinary people—they would pass out just by getting too close. Even seasoned warriors, trained for years, would be affected by the sheer coercion of his Conqueror's Haki.

Doflamingo's Haki was so powerful that it could even influence an entire small island.

Yet, in the face of this Conqueror's Haki—strong enough to suppress nearly all pirates in the first half of the Grand Line—Kain simply smiled and said, "Is Conqueror's Haki really that strong? I can feel the pressure from the electromagnetic barrier, Doflamingo. If your Haki were any stronger, I might actually faint."

That was a blatant lie!

Hearing Kain's words from a distance, the Donquixote Family's cadres all had the same thought.

Even the four top officers could be knocked unconscious if they weren't careful when facing Doflamingo's Haki. And yet, Kain, who was taking it head-on, remained completely unfazed, as if it had no effect on him at all.

"It's about time to begin... otherwise, some troublesome people might interfere with my electromagnetic control. My turn!"

With those words, Kain snapped his fingers.

In the next second, Doflamingo felt as if the very ground beneath him had been shaken by an earthquake lasting a century.

Countless rocks surged upward, rapidly encasing his entire body layer by layer. Smaller stone particles filled the gaps between the larger rocks, sealing him in completely.

"Dover!"

"Young Master!"

Seeing this, the Donquixote Family cadres aboard the Clown Pirate Ship cried out in alarm.

But while they shouted, Kain had already generated a 30-million-volt lightning strike, which instantly descended upon the rock-bound Doflamingo.

RUMBLE!

Like a god commanding thunder, Kain casually summoned divine punishment to smite Doflamingo. The sky filled with roaring lightning, its dazzling brilliance forcing many to avert their eyes.

"This is bad! Dover is under attack! We need to help him—he's a Devil Fruit user! Use Armament Haki!"

Gritting his teeth, Diamanti shouted in fury before leading the charge. The Donquixote Family officers launched their counterattack.

"Sticky Fire Cannon!"

"Half-Moon Burial!"

"Explosive Hair!"

"Blizzard!"

In an instant, the battlefield erupted with a combination of Devil Fruit abilities, sword slashes, snowstorms, and toxic hair attacks—all aimed at Kain.

Even a Warlord of the Sea (Shichibukai) couldn't afford to ignore such a powerful coordinated assault. Surely, this would force him back, giving them a chance to save Doflamingo.

That thought flashed through their minds. But before they could act—

Kain waved his hand.

Suddenly, the very space around them seemed to shift.

The surrounding magnetic field warped, and to their horror, their attacks veered off course mid-air, redirected by Kain's unseen force.

"What's happening?! Why did my sword energy turn around?!"

"Dover! Get out of there!"

"Young Master, watch out for my hair—it's poisonous!"

"Ah! My blizzard—Young Master, I didn't mean to!"

Diamanti, Monet, and the others watched in shock as their own attacks suddenly changed trajectory—heading straight for Doflamingo instead. Their eyes nearly popped out of their skulls as they shouted frantic warnings.

"Don't underestimate me! I am Dofla—damn it, STOP ATTACKING!"

Just as Doflamingo broke free from the magnetic entrapment, he was met with a barrage of his subordinates' redirected attacks.

He barely managed to coat his arms with Armament Haki to block the onslaught. But even with his mastery over Haki and the String-String Fruit, the sheer force of his own crew's combined attack sent him flying.

Doflamingo emerged from the impact slightly disheveled but otherwise unharmed.

However, after being blasted away by his own subordinates, his heart burned with fury.

"I said, you bastard, that's enough! Super Whip Strike!"

Doflamingo lashed out, but the wrist-thick thread had no effect at all. As it neared Kain, an invisible force suddenly dispersed it, reducing it back to thin strands that scattered through the air.

"I see. There's an invisible barrier around you, isn't there? Just like when my Conqueror's Haki hit you earlier. Fine, then—try this next move! Barren White Thread!"

With a shout, Doflamingo activated his String-String Fruit's awakened abilities. Under his control, tens of thousands of transparent white silk threads erupted from the ground.

This was the true power of the String-String Fruit after awakening.

Now, each thread was sharper, stronger, and deadlier. Together, they surged like an unstoppable tidal wave, capable of leveling an entire small town in an instant.

But Kain remained unimpressed.

"It doesn't matter what move you use, Doffy—you should still be called a clown. At the end of the day, Devil Fruit abilities are just genetic modifications through bloodline factors, granting superhuman powers. But almost every ability still relies on the magnetic field in some way. And as luck would have it, the magnetic field happens to be my domain."

Kain smiled at Doflamingo. This was the suppression of abilities at a fundamental level—a difference in the rules of power. Only pure physical monsters could challenge him, and even they had limits.

After all, even the strongest beings in the One Piece world—no matter how much they trained—could they truly manipulate the entire planet's or even the universe's magnetic field?

"Like this."

Kain casually reversed the surrounding magnetic field.

In an instant, the connection between Doflamingo and his Barren White Threads was severed. The tens of thousands of razor-sharp silk threads immediately lost control, collapsing into a harmless heap on the ground.

"Now, let's try something else—experience the power of the Thunder-Thunder Fruit, Brother Clown."

RUMBLE.

The sky darkened as thick storm clouds rolled in overhead.

Flashes of lightning illuminated the heavens, crackling ominously. Within seconds, the thunder above began to boom rhythmically—like a god playing an ominous melody.

'Not good!'

Doflamingo had just formed the thought when—

CRACK-BOOM!

A lightning bolt, two to three meters thick, crashed down from the sky. It struck Doflamingo in an instant, engulfing him in a blinding, electric blaze.

Kain observed from above, studying the effect.

He noticed that Doflamingo had managed to react in time, covering his entire body with Armament Haki at the last moment, reducing the damage from the lightning strike.

"Not bad. Your reaction time is decent. Let's see how long your Armament Haki can hold out."

The moment Kain spoke, the storm above raged even fiercer.

The dark clouds crackled with energy, and the booming thunder became relentless—an unending, divine wrath from the heavens.

BOOM!

BOOM!!

BOOM!!!

Lightning bolts rained down in rapid succession, each carrying tens of millions of volts. Their speed was unmatched, accelerated further by Kain's manipulation of the magnetic field. Even with Observation Haki, Doflamingo couldn't dodge them.

And once struck by the first bolt, the paralysis effect of the electricity made dodging the next ones impossible.

He had no choice but to endure.

He fought back with sheer physical strength, relying on his Haki to withstand the bombardment. But aside from those with the Rubber-Rubber Fruit, no one could outright ignore this level of electricity. And when it came to endurance, Doflamingo was at a clear disadvantage—he could never outlast Kain, whose seemingly bottomless reserves of energy made him an insurmountable force.

"Dover!"

"Young Master!"

"We're coming to help!"

Seeing Doflamingo continuously struck by lightning, the Donquixote Family officers lost their composure. Enraged, they abandoned his earlier orders and launched an all-out attack on Kain, desperate to rescue their leader.

Kain sighed, annoyed.

"How noisy. If you won't sit still and watch, then go take a swim."

He stretched out his finger.

In an instant, seven or eight massive lightning bolts—each three to four meters thick—descended from the storm clouds.

BOOM!

Every single Clown Pirate ship was obliterated, sinking beneath the waves.

The Donquixote officers who had been charging toward Kain were blasted into the sea. Some were struck directly, reduced to charred husks in an instant. More than half of the crew, electrocuted midair, crashed into the ocean—completely numb, unable to move.

The battle was as good as over.

After dealing with the remaining members of the Clown Pirate crew, Kain took out a titanium-alloy metal ball and smirked.

"This is my final attack, Brother Clown."

Ultra Railgun!

BOOM!

A dazzling beam of light shot toward Doflamingo in an instant. Though he instinctively raised his arm to block, the sheer force of the titanium-alloy ball—accelerated through electromagnetic propulsion—shattered his Armament Haki-covered defense.

"I've been wanting to test this move for a while."

Seeing Doflamingo so injured that he could barely stand, Kain put away the remaining titanium-alloy metal balls.

His railgun had just reached speeds five times the speed of sound, and with the ball's high-density material, its lethal range extended up to 3,000 meters. Doflamingo, already gravely wounded, stood no chance against Kain's full-power electromagnetic shot.

Floating Spell!

Using his abilities, Kain effortlessly lifted Doflamingo's battered body from the rubble. He was just about to attempt controlling the bioelectricity in Doflamingo's body when—

Swish!

A sharp wave of sword energy sliced through the air between them.

Kain turned his head, mildly surprised. He had yet to fully master the abilities of the Thunder-Thunder Fruit. In combat, maintaining an electromagnetic barrier was already his limit, and it would take time before he could simultaneously manage both the barrier and electromagnetic wave monitoring.

From the distant sea, a figure rapidly approached, stepping through the air with precise footwork.

A tall woman—at least 2.5 meters—held a long blade in her hand as she closed the distance at high speed.

"Mr. Pent, please stop. Do not continue this battle."

Using Moonwalk, Gion landed near the battlefield and addressed Kain. But as her gaze shifted to Doflamingo—still floating, completely restrained—she couldn't help but wonder:

What kind of ability is this? Even my sword aura couldn't break through…

Kain descended to the ground with Doflamingo in tow, then turned toward Gion.

"And you are?"

"Vice Admiral Gion, Marine Headquarters. We received intelligence about your battle with Doflamingo and were sent to prevent it from escalating further. Unfortunately, it seems we arrived too late."

Kain chuckled.

"Not too late at all. I haven't finished him off yet."

Gion's expression tightened at his words. Just as she was about to respond, she noticed movement from the other side.

Kain also turned toward the approaching figures. From the direction of Alabasta, two running ducks raced toward them.

Riding on top were none other than Nico Robin and Baby-5.

Baby-5's eyes widened in horror as she recognized the charred figure in Kain's grasp.

"H-Husband... ah, I mean, Young Master! What happened to you?!"

Tears welled in her eyes as she looked up at Kain, visibly distressed.

Nico Robin, arriving a moment later, tensed at the sight of Gion's Marine justice cloak but quickly composed herself. Turning to Kain, she sighed.

"Boss, I did my best, but she refused to listen to reason and insisted on coming to help you."

Kain waved it off.

"Forget it. It's already settled."

His gaze shifted back to Doflamingo.

'Neither Marine Headquarters nor Baby-5 seem to want me to kill him outright… and I've already had my fun today.'

Keeping Doflamingo alive might bring even greater rewards.

For now, that would be enough.
