Chapter 343: Chapter 344: Just Throw It Away
Nebula lay on the bed and quickly lost consciousness. She wasn't worried about Red Queen's abilities — after all, anyone who could stay by Emperor's side wouldn't be ordinary.
Red Queen immediately connected to the network and began scanning for the hidden tracker inside Nebula's body. With her supercomputing power, it took less than a minute for Red Queen to locate the tracker, which was even smaller than a microchip.
Removing the tracker from Nebula's body was an easy task, but Red Queen didn't forget the other thing Alan asked her to do — enhance Nebula's abilities and check for damaged components inside her body.
Alan remembered Hela's warning: Nebula had shown up in Asgard covered in scars. This was the perfect opportunity to remove any defective parts.
With a full stock of materials onboard the ship, Red Queen could work with ease. Of course, she could only enhance Nebula using the materials available on the ship.
If Gamora happened to walk in right now and saw Nebula being disassembled so casually by Red Queen, she'd probably develop an even deeper hatred for Thanos — after all, it was Thanos who turned Nebula into this mess in the first place.
At this moment, Quill was piloting the ship. Though he wanted to activate the jump drive to speed up their journey to Earth, he knew better. Red Queen was performing a critical "surgery" inside, and the ship needed to stay steady.
Using the jump drive would inevitably cause turbulence, and Quill didn't want to be the idiot who screwed everything up. That would be way too embarrassing.
Finally, the door to Red Queen's room opened. Nebula walked out looking full of energy, nothing like someone who just had a tracker surgically removed from her body.
"She feel... stronger somehow." Drax stepped forward, eyeing Nebula with curiosity. He had a keen sense for these kinds of things.
Red Queen held out a tiny object, about the size of a grain of rice, faintly glowing with a gray light. She displayed it to everyone.
"Master, this is the tracker." Red Queen originally planned to destroy it the moment she removed it, but Alan had specifically told her not to — he wanted it intact.
"This tiny thing..." Gamora thought to herself. Even if someone suspected they had a tracker inside them, something this small would be almost impossible to find.
Yet the little girl by Alan's side located it in less than fifteen minutes — and Nebula herself looked completely different than before.
…
"Alan, what do you plan to do with it?" Gwen didn't reach out to take the tracker. If it accidentally fell to the floor, finding it again would be a nightmare — the ship's floor color was almost the same as the tracker itself.
"Simple. Give it to me."
The moment Alan took the tracker, he opened a window and casually tossed it into the vastness of the galaxy.
…
Everyone instantly understood why Alan didn't destroy the tracker.
This way, Nebula's coordinates would keep blinking, continuously luring Thanos' forces to this empty spot. There were no nearby planets or landmarks — finding Nebula here would be like searching for her in a dream.
"That's freaking awesome, bro! Messing with them like this is the best!" Drax roared with laughter, already imagining Thanos' minions rushing over, only to find absolutely nothing.
No Nebula. No Infinity Stones. Just empty space.
Gwen and Wanda both stared at Alan, admiration glowing in their eyes. They couldn't hide it even if they tried.
Gwen, in a moment of daze, finally understood why Hela was so relentless in chasing after Alan.
