Chapter 46: Aura
"How was it?" Amelia asked as they headed home, her tone light and curious.
"It was good," Michael replied, a faint smile on his face. "I found an interesting guy."
Amelia nodded in agreement. "Yes, who would have guessed we'd find such talent in a small village?"
"But I'm didn't know you were a commoner too," Michael said, recalling some of the gossip he'd overheard before at the festival.
"Yes, that's right," Amelia confirmed, her gaze softening as she reminisced. "Both your father and I were commoners. We earned our last name after reaching the rank of Grand Mage. At that time, when we got married, we decided to take on the single name Silva."
Michael nodded thoughtfully. "I see. No wonder we are different from other nobles'," he mused, finally understanding why his family wasn't as bound by the rigid traditions or rather their high pride and such bullshit thing.
"So, were you serious when you said you're going to meet that kid again?" Amelia asked, her tone curious.
Michael nodded confidently. "Yes, I think training with him might be useful."
Amelia sighed lightly but nodded as well. "I won't stop you, but you must only leave the house accompanied by guards," she said firmly, placing her hands on her hips and giving him a stern look. Michael nodded obediently.
"Good boy," she said, ruffling his hair affectionately. She added with a chuckle, "I'm going to sleep now. You should too." With that, she left the room, leaving Michael to his thoughts.
As Michael settled on his bed, he muttered, "System, now give me the reward."
The system responded promptly:
[Congratulations on completing the quest!]
[You have gained the Basic Aura skill book.]
[The Basic Aura skill book will allow the host to utilize Aura up to Tier II.]
"Great! With this, I'll be the first Aura user in this world!" Michael thought excitedly. However, he paused, mumbling to himself, "But won't Aura and magic conflict with each other?"
The system responded:
[That rule applies to common fantasy worlds where individuals can only use one type of power, either Aura or magic.]
[In this world, most people are born with a mana core, so they don't have to create a mana circuit. This leaves their heart free, allowing the host to form an Aura circle and use Aura alongside magic.]
Michael nodded in understanding. "I see... so this world's structure makes it possible. That works out perfectly!" He grinned, ready to dive into learning this new power.
Aura, unlike magic, burns through the physical body, making it more potent. In layman's terms, it's akin to comparing a warrior to a mage. While magic is more destructive by nature, Aura enhances speed, endurance, and strength. Combining the two creates the perfect warrior.
"Now, even without my symbiote, I'll be able to stand my ground even against Bullets," Michael muttered to himself, closing his eyes as the information about Aura filled his mind.
The Aura method he received was called Dawn Heart Art. Unlike magic, which can be of any element, an Aura user's power often leans toward a specific element. The Dawn Heart Art was unique—it combined Light and Darkness into the Dawn Element.
The system explained:
[Host's body, thanks to Twilight Breathing, is perfectly attuned to both Light and Darkness. These elements complement each other seamlessly in the host's body, making the combination of these two Aura arts ideal for the host.]
Michael nodded as he processed this. "So, my body is naturally suited to this method... I guess it's another blessing from Twilight Mana Breathing Art."
He felt a surge of excitement. "With the Dawn Element enhancing my physical prowess and magic covering ranged and destructive combat, I'll my shortcomings covered!"
Determined, Michael began practicing the breathing technique outlined in the Dawn Heart Art, ready to master both Aura and magic and carve his place as a force to be reckoned with.
He continued to breathe in and out, mixing magic within his body. Aura differs from magic in that it relies on the user's physical body, while magic depends on the soul or spirit. This distinction makes Aura more limited but often more immediate in its effects compared to magic.
By moving mana inside his body, Michael began to focus on gathering Aura. The amount of Aura he could generate would determine the formation of his first Aura Circle. Forming an Aura Circle was said to be relatively easy—so simple, in fact, that even an average person could achieve it within an hour. However, for someone as talented as Michael, the process was even faster.
After only a few minutes, he had gathered enough Aura. With steady breathing and concentration, he visualized the flow of energy, allowing it to take shape and circulate within him.
His body glowed faintly as the Aura took form. "It's done," he murmured, feeling the newfound strength coursing through him. This was just the beginning—he was ready to take his training to the next level.
He looked at the pinkish-orange haze emanating from his hand. "Now to store it and make it sustain itself," he said with a focused expression.
The process of forming an Aura Circle was vital because, once created, it would automatically start generating Aura by mixing mana with the user's blood. The Aura Circle not only produced Aura but also stored it for future use. Without one, a person would have to generate Aura manually, which was inefficient and impractical, especially in combat.
Michael steadied his breathing, guiding the Aura towards his heart. He visualized it swirling around his core, allowing the energy to stabilize and settle. Gradually, the pinkish-orange haze coalesced, forming a concentrated loop. As the Aura began to circulate on its own, ancient runes shimmered faintly in the air, surrounding the swirling energy.
With a faint hum, the single rune at the center glowed brighter before fading into his chest. The Aura Circle was now complete. "My first Aura Circle," Michael murmured, clenching his fist as he felt the energy surge within him.
The results were immediate. The Aura began to forcefully strengthen his internal organs, especially his heart—the central organ responsible for pumping blood throughout his body. As the Aura coursed through him, it fortified his entire system, enhancing both strength and resilience.
This process was a crucial step, as both the Aura Circle and the Magic Core were designed to integrate seamlessly with the user's body. Over time, they adapted and synchronized with the body, making it more efficient, powerful, and durable. As the Aura settled into his system, Michael could feel his body adjusting, gradually becoming more attuned to the newfound energy.
Each beat of his heart now carried the enhanced vitality of Aura, subtly transforming his physique to be stronger, faster, and more enduring.
