Chapter 74: Vampires II
Michael's voice echoed beside Camille, calm and steady. "It's okay, Camille," he said gently. "She was going to die regardless. Her body was already deteriorating from blood loss, and her weak mind, after being compelled, was on the verge of shutting down. This was... inevitable."
Camille let out a shaky breath, still unsure how to feel about the situation. Bonnie gave her a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. "Come on. We need to focus. The fight's just getting started," she said.
With a reluctant nod, Camille gathered herself and followed the others toward the house. She pushed the death of the old woman to the back of her mind, determined to focus on helping Michael first.
"You don't have to do this if you're not ready," Michael said, his voice soft.
Camille shook her head, her resolve firm. "No, I want to help you."
Michael sighed, sensing her determination. "I guess it was inevitable that we'd need help," he said as they moved closer to the house, spotting Damon staking a vampire with ease.
The vampires in the house were famished and not at their peak strength. For Damon, Stefan, and Alaric, taking them down wasn't a big challenge. The old woman who had granted them access was barely holding on to life, her blood count critically low from their feeding, but not enough to feed 12 vampires and still live.
"You sure enjoy killing my people," came a voice suddenly.
A vampire stepped out of the shadows, holding a stake. Several others emerged behind him, each armed and ready.
"You're outnumbered," said the leader, his gaze sharp as he assessed the group.
Damon smirked, clearly unimpressed. "Fred, you're half-starved. Do you really think you can take us on with those numbers?" he taunted.
Fred's grin widened maliciously. "Maybe not alone, but with a little leverage..." He signaled, and a vampire lunged at Bonnie, grabbing her and holding a knife to her neck.
"Now, how about we all go our separate ways?" Fred proposed, his tone smug as he eyed Damon.
Damon's expression darkened, his gaze darting between Fred and Bonnie. "Okay," he said, sighing.
And just they thought, they are leaving, suddenly Henry who is holding Bonnie as hostage got his neck twisted out of nowhere, causing him to fall unconscious and release Bonnie.
" what the heck was that?" Damon asked looking at the unconscious vamp.
"Don't worry, that was my boyfriend," Camille said, her voice calm as she stepped forward.
"Where is he?" Stefan asked, confused by her cryptic remark.
"Right here," she replied as she gestured toward the window.
Michael, using his Spiritokinesis, focused his energy. With a single motion, he caused all the vampires' necks to snap simultaneously, leaving them unconscious and collapsing to the ground.
"From here, we can handle things. You guys can leave," Camille said, addressing Damon.
Damon raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "Relax, love. That old woman was gone anyway. I just helped ease her pain," he said, pointing toward her body.
Camille glared at him. "Just leave."
Damon shrugged and started walking away. "Fine, we're going," he said as Stefan followed him without a word.
Alaric hesitated, looking at Camille and Bonnie. "Are you sure you're okay? We should stay to make sure everything's fine."
Bonnie stepped in, her tone firm. "This is a witch matter. You guys can go now."
Alaric frowned but nodded reluctantly. "We'll be close by if you need us," he said before leaving with Damon and Stefan.
Camille turned to Bonnie with a small but determined smile. "Let's do it," she said.
Bonnie nodded, her expression equally resolute. She began placing candles around the room, carefully positioning them near the unconscious vampires. Once everything was set, she knelt in the center of the room, her voice steady as she began chanting the spell.
Camille watched intently as the candles flared to life, their flames flickering unnaturally. The orange glow of the flames turned into a brighter, bluish hue, as the unconscious vampires began to disintegrate, their bodies reduced to ash. At the same time, a ghostly energy coalesced in the air, gradually forming into a faint outline of Michael's body.
Michael's spiritual form flickered before solidifying. His eyes fluttered open as he took a deep, sharp breath. "I can... I can smell the air now," he said, his voice trembling with emotion as he looked around.
Bonnie stood up slowly, her gaze locking with Michael's. "So its you" she asked softly.
Michael turned toward her, his eyes wide with gratitude and wonder. "Yes... and thankyou," he said, his voice filled with disbelief. He took a tentative step forward and looked down at himself, flexing his hands. "It worked. I guess... I'm really back in my body," he said, his voice a mixture of relief and satisfaction.

As Camille stepped closer, Michael's gaze shifted to her. Without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. He froze for a moment before returning the embrace, resting his chin on her shoulder.
Camille pulled back slightly, her hands still on his arms. "You're really here," she said, her voice breaking with emotion.
Michael offered a small smile. "Yeah. Thanks to you two."
Camille nodded, then leaned in and kissed Michael. He returned the kiss without hesitation, the moment filled with raw emotion and relief. They kissed without any care for the world around them, completely lost in each other.
Bonnie, standing nearby, quietly excused herself, giving them their moment with a small, knowing smile.
After the kiss, Camille pulled back slightly, her cheeks flushed, and she smiled softly. "It feels... different," she said, gazing at him lovingly.
Michael chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I guess that's what happens when I'm not just a spirit anymore," he said with a playful grin.
Camille laughed, the sound light and genuine. "Maybe," she replied. "But I don't mind it. It feels real now."
Michael smiled, his hand gently resting on hers. "It is real, Camille. Thanks to you."
