Chapter 149: Chapter 149
This version of Deadpool, rather than inheriting Wolverine's iconic healing factor, gained his abilities after a series of gruesome scientific experiments. This setup, adapted from the film version of Deadpool, makes him, in a sense, not a Mutant. Therefore, the weapons Colonel Stryker possessed to disable Mutants were nearly useless against him, at most, they only made his head spin for a moment, and that was thanks to the explosion caused by Havok!
Deadpool was born a true entertainer. Seeing everyone else unconscious but himself, and then a large group of burly men approaching him with unfriendly gazes, his ugly face instantly flushed. He immediately dropped to the ground, face down, with his buttocks raised high, as if inviting them to do whatever they wished. However, Colonel Stryker's soldiers simply brought out ropes and handcuffs, tying Deadpool up like a zongzi, then ignored him completely. They began moving Colonel Stryker's designated targets in pairs, not caring even as Deadpool wiggled around on the grass!
Kurohane truly couldn't bear to look at Deadpool's silly pose, so he had to avert his gaze to the trio remaining in the ruins. When the armed helicopter appeared, Nightcrawler instinctively sensed danger. He grabbed Phoenix and Cyclops, then teleported into the ruins. Cyclops initially wanted to see how his brother was, but after Phoenix placed her hand over his mouth, as if sealing it, he didn't dare to move!
Kurohane sighed, an amused expression on his face. Oh, another damned young romance idol campus drama!
However, Kurohane had no intention of disturbing them, because the decisions made by these hot-blooded youngsters today would become the strength they would rely on in the future. Kurohane couldn't make decisions for them! As expected, after Colonel Stryker loaded the people he wanted to capture into the helicopter, Nightcrawler, along with Phoenix and Cyclops, also teleported onto the armed helicopter. Initially intending to evacuate the captured people, they were shocked to find that on this helicopter, none of their Mutant abilities could be used! Even Phoenix's proud Telepathy couldn't be used, and she could only be captured along with Mystique and the others.
At this moment, Kurohane suddenly missed that fool Deadpool. Now, even if he wanted to find someone to complain to, he couldn't, almost suffocating himself! So he opened another portal, appeared beside Deadpool, and pulled the katana from Deadpool's back, cutting the ropes and handcuffs on him, freeing Deadpool.
"Well done, at least you saved Havok's life! However, I think if you show off properly, Stryker will still notice you, perhaps he'll arrange an adamantium skeleton reinforcement for you in the future!" Kurohane quipped, a faint smirk gracing his lips.
"It's fine if that damned loser doesn't know a good thing when he sees it, but why did those strong soldier brothers ignore my ass? Is it because my butt isn't as likable as Steve Rogers's?" Deadpool asked, his head tilted, his tone half-pouting.
"Of course! He's the cheerful American ass, you're at most the cheerful Canadian ass, you're a whole level lower than him, Canada is almost a province of the United States!" Kurohane gave Deadpool no quarter, glancing at him with a dismissive look.
Deadpool didn't care about Kurohane's mockery, after all, he wasn't that Canadian! "Be careful, I'll sue you for defamation! I never played that damned Green Lantern!"
"Alright, stop talking nonsense." Kurohane rolled his eyes. "Colonel Stryker's base has a completely transformed Wolverine. Do you want to go have a sweet reunion with him? The current Wolverine is super strong!"
"Of course, I definitely have to see my Logan! I love him to death! But what about these youngsters here? We can't just leave them lying here, can we? What if some perverted guy with bad intentions passes by, wouldn't they work themselves to death here?!" Deadpool looked at the group of teenage Mutants lying on the ground and spread his hands helplessly.
Kurohane couldn't hold back anymore and directly shot Deadpool in his little head. Deadpool immediately covered his crotch and knelt on the ground, wiggling like a maggot.
"It's fine now, that perverted guy with bad intentions won't work himself to death." Kurohane stated in a flat tone, satisfied.
Alkali Lake in the Canadian state of the United States. Amidst the ice and snow, lay a colorful mineral-rich, vast lake. A man-made dam stretched along the lake's edge, serving as Colonel Stryker's secret base. It was here that he transformed Wolverine using adamantium, his experiment a success. Wolverine's entire skeleton was reinforced with molten adamantium, and he narrowly survived. But to Colonel Stryker's disappointment, Logan forgot all his memories after the transformation, becoming a Beast who only knew how to kill, and was locked underground in this dam by Colonel Stryker, naming him Weapon X. Anyway, Logan wouldn't starve to death, so they didn't even give him food!
Colonel Stryker's helicopter had returned to his secret base, and Kurohane and Deadpool also appeared silently.
"Kurohane, what should we do next? Break down this dam?" Deadpool asked, his voice as cheerful as ever.
"I think next time I should just shove you into the Gate of Hell." Kurohane snorted, his eyes narrowing. "The devil would have to stand from his seat and let you sit down. With such a massive water storage capacity, how many people would die downstream if that dam exploded? You're truly a demon!"
"Then what do we do? There's no door here?" Deadpool squatted on the snow and looked around. Aside from the location where the helicopter entered and exited, he really didn't find any so-called entrance or exit.
Kurohane had sharp vision. Even with so many trees obstructing the view, he still found a side door near the dam. Judging by its appearance, it should have been the door Logan used to escape. Kurohane brought Deadpool with him, leaving two sets of footprints on the white snow. They appeared silently in the bushes outside the iron gate. Kurohane pointed to the two cameras on either side of the iron gate.
"Those two cameras, one for each of us. Let's see whose marksmanship is better. The worse one goes in and saves the people!"
"Okay!" Deadpool didn't think Kurohane's marksmanship would be better than his own. After all, among all superheroes and villains, not many could openly use firearms as weapons. Deadpool, coming from a mercenary background, wasn't afraid of this!
Kurohane casually picked up a rock from the ground, tossed it into the sky, and then slowly drew his weapon. Two shots rang out, shaking the snow from the surrounding trees. The two cameras near the iron gate were completely shattered. Kurohane gently blew on his muzzle.
"What are you standing there for? Why aren't you shooting?" Kurohane asked, his eyebrow raised.
"Weren't we waiting for the rock to land so we could shoot at the same time?" Deadpool's CPU felt like it was burning. A rock fell from the sky, hitting his head with a thud!
"You should watch fewer American Westerns in the future. You're Canadian! Hurry up and save the people, let Logan know who loves him the most, Cowboy Deadpool!"
"Yeehaw!!!" Deadpool yelled, immediately running towards the gate.
