Marvel : Web Of Evolution

Chapter 40: Not A Chapter.

Dear readers, I want to let you know a few things.

A. Why Spider-Man suffers: It is due to a combination of many factors, including:

1. The "with great power comes great responsibility" thing.

2. The lack of proper balance between his superhero life and personal life.

3. The villains he faces.

4. Dramatic storytelling.

5. The usual journey of a hero, where the hero comes out on top in the end.

6. Last but not least, Mephisto. While he is not the main reason, over the years, he has had a significant hand in it, as seen in storylines like "One More Day". I wanted to create a similar storyline with a supernatural arc, where Spider-Man teams up with characters like Dr. Doom, Ghost Rider, and Dr. Strange, who have all had dealings with Mephisto. This will lead to a deeper explanation of his sufferings, which will only increase in the coming chapters.

B. Why Spider-Man doesn't reveal his true powers:

1. It's just too early in the fic.

2. He needs to have some hidden cards up his sleeve.

3. Why would he use excessive force against weak opponents? Just because you can use a pitchfork, doesn't mean you need to use it to eat spaghetti. A normal fork will suffice.

4. One-shotting enemies is not fun and wouldn't provide much entertainment.

5. It's my way of storytelling. If you found this approach annoying, you wouldn't be spending your valuable time reading upto chapter 40.

C. I'll be taking a break from my Spider-Man fan-fic for a little while. I've been working on it for a long time, and I'm starting to feel a bit burned out. I know some of you might be worried that I'm abandoning the story, but don't worry - I'm not giving up on it! I just need to take a step back, recharge, and come back to it with fresh eyes. Some authors work on multiple projects simultaneously, and I've come to realize why. I'm not facing a writer's block or stuck without ideas; it's just that working on the same project has started to wear me out.

So, I'll be working on a new project for a bit, and then I'll return to my Spider-Man fan-fic. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the promises I've made to you. I've seen too many fan-fics get stopped midway, dropped without reason, or ask for money on Patreon only to cheat readers. I don't plan on being one of those authors. I appreciate your patience and understanding, and I'm grateful for your support. I'll be back with more updates soon, and I promise it'll be worth the wait.

Thanks again for reading, and I look forward to sharing more of my writing with you soon!
