Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony
As Leonardo lounged in his luxurious room, the gleaming eyes of his Stand, Scarlet Conqueror, reflected off the jewels embedded in his cane. He had barely begun to understand the vast world he had been thrust into when a knock echoed against his door.
"Enter," he called, straightening his posture.
The door creaked open, revealing an older gentleman in a well-fitted dark suit, a neatly trimmed mustache, and an air of authority. His presence was commanding, yet there was a warm curiosity in his eyes.
"Leonardo Giovanna, I presume?" The man stepped forward. "My name is Giovanni 'John' Zatara. I am a professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and I am here to personally escort you to a most important event."
Leonardo raised a brow. "And what event would that be?"
Professor Zatara smiled knowingly. "The Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony."
As Don Salvatore entered the room, his expression unreadable, Zatara turned to him and began explaining. "At Hogwarts, there are five houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Kamar-Taj. Each house has its own philosophy and magical strengths. However, before students are sorted into their respective houses, they must first partake in the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony."
"A Grimoire?" Salvatore repeated, intrigued.
Zatara nodded. "Indeed. Grimoires, or spellbooks, are pivotal tools for mages. Each mage possesses a Grimoire, which serves as a repository for spells and enhances their ability to control mana, the essence of magic. These spellbooks evolve alongside their users, reflecting their growth and potential."
Leonardo smirked, adjusting his cane. "Sounds like my kind of thing. Let's go."
The journey to the ceremony was swift, and before Leonardo knew it, he was standing in a grand hall alongside many other first-year students. The towering walls of the chamber were adorned with ancient symbols and moving magical tapestries. There, he met three boys who immediately piqued his interest.
"Hey, the name's Yuno Grinberryall," said a boy with sharp golden eyes and a noble air about him.
"I'm Asta!" an energetic boy with spiky hair shouted, flexing his arms. "I may not have magic yet, but I'll become the greatest wizard ever!"
"Harry Potter," another boy introduced himself, his bright green eyes glancing up at Leonardo, a faint scar on his forehead. "Pleasure to meet you."
Leonardo smirked at their introductions. "Leonardo Giovanna."
As the four continued chatting, a sudden commotion caught their attention. Two boys were locked in a heated duel—one with pink hair and a fiery aura, the other with dark hair and an icy presence.
"Oi! Natsu, quit picking fights!" a girl yelled from the sidelines.
"Shut up, Lucy! This guy started it!" the pink-haired boy, Natsu Dragneel, shot back.
The dark-haired boy scoffed. "I'll beat you again, flame brain."
Leonardo watched with amusement as the two continued bickering before stepping between them. "You two are amusing. Let's settle this inside, shall we?"
With a reluctant grumble, the two boys nodded, introducing themselves as Natsu Dragneel and Gray Fullbuster. Their group quickly grew in size, bound by newfound friendships and shared anticipation.
The ceremony began as ancient texts floated around the students, each glowing faintly as they sought their chosen wielder. One by one, the Grimoires selected their mages, binding themselves to them for life.
When it was Leonardo's turn, a dark crimson Grimoire floated towards him, its cover adorned with a striking four-leaf clover. As he opened it, knowledge rushed into his mind—he had been gifted Weapon Magic, a rare form of magic that allowed him to transform anything into a weapon imbued with mystical properties.
A slow grin spread across his face. Now this... this could be interesting.
After the ceremony, Leonardo bid farewell to his newfound friends, knowing they would meet again soon at Hogwarts. He was escorted to Diagon Alley, the bustling magical marketplace, where he acquired his school supplies.
The final stop was Ollivanders, the legendary wand shop. As he entered, the air was thick with enchantment. The elderly wandmaker, Mr. Ollivander, greeted him with an assessing gaze.
"Ah, another Giovanna," Ollivander mused. "Let's find you the perfect wand."
After several failed attempts, Leonardo's fingers wrapped around a dark, sinister-looking wand. A pulse of energy shot through him, a perfect match.
"Thestral tail hair core," Ollivander noted, his tone contemplative. "And the wood... fascinating. It is said to be crafted from a fragment of Maleficent's staff, once wielded by the most powerful dark enchantress of the past. A dangerous, yet potent choice."
Leonardo smirked as he twirled the wand between his fingers. "Sounds about right."
With his supplies in hand and power growing at an alarming rate, Leonardo Giovanna was ready for whatever awaited him at Hogwarts.
