"Forget the charming witch for now; is this sneaky guy who stole my clothes really a serious issue?" Doom crossed his arms and sneered.
"Making people unhappy is a serious issue," Adrian said absently, looking closely at the scene. He noticed that both the Enchanting Witch and Ash had turned into piles of ash.
But a semi-comic hero like Ash doesn't usually die so tragically. When one Ash dies in this universe, another might pop up somewhere else in the Evil Dead universe. This is exactly why there were two Ash Williamses in New York at the same time.
As Adrian watched Ash disintegrate, someone suddenly jumped up from behind, shouting in shock, "What did you do?! You killed him!"
The visitor had blond hair flowing over his shoulders, wore tight white attire, and had a blue mask that made him look like a prince of pleasure.
Doctor Doom turned, looking at the offended Kaun Yin in front of him, and said indifferently, "The clown you brought is not only trying to release Doom's prisoners, but he's also blatantly imitating Doom. This is a huge disrespect... an insult."
"The punishment he deserves is death. Do you have any objections?"
Kaun Yin, who had turned pale, was about to say something when Susan quickly stepped forward, gently placing her hands on Kaun Yin's shoulders to comfort her.
Kaun Yin is a mutant with the power to transform her beautiful singing voice into bright light.
If Doom, even as a minor character, wanted to kill her, it would be as easy as crushing an insect, especially with the Invisible Woman assisting him.
Although Doom is often polite to women, he has no qualms about taking action when he needs to. He might not kill Kaun Yin outright, but he could easily imprison or exile her from Doom Castle—perhaps a harsher fate than death.
"Hmph, let's focus on the mission. Fury and the others have reached Latveria. Let's go."
Seeing Kaun Yin bow her head in silence, Doom snorted, turned around, and led everyone out.
Meanwhile, Fury stood by the Quinjet's window, calmly watching Fort Doom as it approached.
"The tower at Latveria has granted us permission to land. Shall we send in a few fighter jets to survey the area first?" Hill walked over to Fury and asked quietly.
"No need. Doctor Doom doesn't play games with such things. If he wanted to harm us, he wouldn't wait until we landed."
"Also, are the items prepared?"
"Right here."
Hill nodded, took a case from an agent nearby, and handed it to the S.H.I.E.L.D. director.
The case was simple but sturdy, crafted from high-quality black leather with a smooth finish, featuring only a small metal S.H.I.E.L.D. logo in the center.
As Fury took the case, he glanced down at the Quinjet on the tarmac, recognizing it as the one Adrian and his team had taken earlier.
As his Quinjet descended, Fury felt the pressure change. The hatch slowly opened, letting in bright light and roaring winds that made his coat ripple.
People moved about on the tarmac, and someone approached to greet them.
"Welcome to Latveria."
Feeling the powerful wind from the fighter jets, Adrian smiled, opening his arms to welcome Fury and his team as they disembarked.
A dozen Quinjet fighter jets landed around them. Many people hugged each other, crying with relief. They had faced the zombie hordes and nearly lost everything.
Those stepping off the plane could be called the luckiest people alive. They had survived the initial virus outbreak as well as the crash of an aircraft carrier.
Fury smirked, stepped up to embrace Adrian, and then teased, "Haven't seen you in a few hours, and now you're part of Latveria?"
"Never said that. Must be your imagination," Adrian shrugged.
Before they could continue, Doctor Doom appeared before them, his green cloak fluttering in the wind, expression unreadable.
Doom first looked at Johnny, Susan, and the Thing, who were hugging each other in the distance, grateful to still have each other.
Then, the Lord of Latveria taunted Fury: "Where's Captain America and the other Avengers? I heard they're taking 'revenge' on civilians."
Fury's face darkened as he replied, "Mr. Adrian, your new friend isn't very friendly."
Before Adrian could respond, Fury added, "Doom, they were infected and turned into zombies. It's not their fault, nor is it right to insult the heroes who fought for this world."
"Heroes?"
Doctor Doom sneered. "Isn't Reed the leader of the Fantastic Four? Isn't he attempting to turn himself into a zombie to achieve some absurd evolution?"
"To me, your Avengers mean nothing. I, Doom, will be humanity's savior and the greatest hero in history!"
"Save it."
Fury clenched his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead. As a Level 10 agent who fought in World War II and survived the Cold War, he rarely showed his anger.
"Alright, alright, let's all calm down and talk less," Adrian said, trying to ease the tension. "Doctor Doom, it would be appreciated if the Lord of Latveria could show his tolerance and kindness. These people have just been through a war and need rest. They will repay the favor and help defend Doom Castle."
"And Fury, let bygones be bygones. Right now, what matters is caring for the living."
After glaring at Doom's iron-clad face for a few seconds, Fury finally took a deep breath. Adrian was right.
Arguing was pointless. The zombies—including Captain America—wouldn't show mercy just because they were once allies. Those who survived needed to continue finding ways to stay alive, however challenging.
Seeing that Fury had calmed down and Doom hadn't continued to provoke him, Adrian realized that unity was crucial.
It was time to let go of past rivalries. Everyone here was still human, and they needed to be on the same side.
Adrian turned to head back to the castle to rest.
Suddenly, Fury called out, "Mr. Adrian, please stay. S.H.I.E.L.D. has a gift for you."
Adrian, who hadn't moved far, looked back at Fury, raising an eyebrow. "A gift?"
