"No, I don't agree!"

When Makarov said he would go alone to negotiate with Zeref, everyone stood up in opposition.

Even the First Master said Zeref had changed. If Zeref turned hostile, Makarov going alone would be a death sentence.

"All right, stop arguing. The Master's concerns are valid, and so are yours. But I'm the guild master now, so listen to me."

George raised his hand and cast a silence spell to mute everyone present, then slowly spoke:

"Here's the plan. Makarov, you stay here and manage the guild to keep it running smoothly.

I will personally lead a team of elite members to the Western Continent to officially visit Zeref in the Alvarez Empire."

Seeing Makarov frown, George continued:

"Don't worry about our safety. Even if things go wrong, I can't promise we'll defeat Zeref, but I'm confident we can bring everyone back safely."

Zeref's current strength is unknown, but since he can't kill the Black Dragon, with his abilities and tactics, it shouldn't be a major problem.

He's skilled in time and space magic; if we can't win, at least we can escape.

This will also serve as good training to improve our strength and make up for the year we wasted, plus having more allies is always better.

Zeref's subordinates like Gerard and Hildr are all Spriggan-class experts.

"How does everyone feel about this?"

George lifted the silence spell with a smile and asked.

Everyone nodded unsurprisingly. Makarov reluctantly nodded as well.

Since George was originally the guild master and was always steady in his actions, this plan seemed reliable.

"I'll go with you. If trouble breaks out, I can help."

At that moment, the First Master spoke.

Though she was a ghost, she still had some power. Using the guild's magic seal to connect with the members' magic, she could cast spells—like with the Fairy Sphere before.

If things became truly dangerous, she could use the Fairy Sphere again, and George could dispel it.

"All right, then. Everyone rest for three days. I'll go find Miss Anna.

After three days, we set out for the Western Continent!"

With the First Master willing to go, George was naturally eager. Maybe with her help, they could take Gerard peacefully.

After finalizing some details, everyone dispersed.

Having been gone for a year, everyone had personal matters to handle, so George gave them three days.

He himself started a tracking spell the next day, following a golden directional arrow toward Anna's location.

"That's really far!"

Flying at full speed, it took three whole hours before George found Anna on a small magic-powered ship floating on a vast ocean.

He also discovered something very interesting.

"There's such dense time magic here."

Above the ship was an enormous temporal rift invisible to the naked eye, radiating wild and violent temporal energy.

This kind of power only appears when time magic is used.

He'd seen something similar when casting the Fairy Sphere and when Gray paused time with his Time Cards—but nothing as fierce or strong as this temporal rift.

"So that's why Anna has been absent all these years," George guessed.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Anna, meditating inside the ship's cabin and sensing the temporal rift above, was suddenly awakened by a knock.

She got up in surprise and opened the door, only to find a golden cat standing upright, staring at her wide-eyed.

"Are you Miss Anna Heartfilia?"

"You know me?"

Anna blinked, puzzled that this small cat knew her name—fewer than a handful of people in the world knew she existed.

"I'm George, the current guild master of Fairy Tail. I have something to discuss with you. May I come in?"

"Fairy Tail Guild…"

Anna's eyes lit up. She nodded and stepped aside.

She knew the guild. After emerging from the Eclipse Gate, an accident scattered Natsu and the others across the continent.

For the two years following, she had been searching for the five children. It was during this time she discovered the temporal rift.

The rift had been created by her use of the Eclipse Gate to travel to the future, causing temporal disturbances that the world automatically tried to repair.

If she could learn to control opening and closing the rift, maybe she could use its power to completely seal the Black Dragon inside.

After locating the five children and seeing they were doing well, she stopped bothering them and instead stayed beneath the rift.

When she found Natsu, he had already joined Fairy Tail, and the guild members treated him well—so she was familiar with the guild.

"Enough small talk. Here's the situation."

George entered the cabin and explained everything—from beginning to end.

After hearing him out, Anna shared her story.

"All right, I'll go with you. I've been searching for Zeref all these years too. I didn't expect he'd become emperor of the Western Continent. No wonder I couldn't find him."

Sending the five children to a future with stronger magic so they could grow up and seal the Black Dragon was originally Zeref's plan.

Naturally, upon arriving in the future, she looked for him.

But all she heard were negative rumors—Zeref was the most evil black wizard, creator of countless demons who slaughtered many.

Besides, everyone believed Zeref was long dead.

She searched the continent for him but found no trace and assumed he'd died by accident.

That's why she pinned her hopes on the temporal rift.

Her plan was to master the rift and, once the five children grew strong, work together to seal the Black Dragon inside.

Now that Zeref is alive and has built a vast empire, she was more than willing to seek his help to fulfill that plan.

"That improves our odds."

Natsu, the First Master, the Fire Dragon King, and Anna were all Zeref's friends. Going together gave a good chance for a peaceful resolution.

When the enemy's strength is unknown, peace is always preferable.

If it comes to fighting, it's never too late.

If they can win, they fight; if not, they retreat and grow stronger before returning. That's been his battle philosophy all along.

Given how fast he's progressing, the ground will be regained sooner or later.
