Chapter 229: Chapter 230: Naomi's Fall to the Love Potion

Regulus Black brought Kate to a guest room on the third floor, originally set up as an office and bedroom for the company's executives.

However, nothing inappropriate happened between them. Regulus simply calmed Kate down and helped her fall asleep. After covering her with a blanket, he quietly left the room.

Of course, he had no intention of taking advantage of the defenseless Kate, nor would he allow anyone else to do so. A spell had been cast within the room—if anyone entered or Kate woke up, Regulus would know immediately.

The film crew had already disbanded, though several lead actors remained behind.

Naturally, Regulus Black lived at the company, and so did the golden-eyed girl, Sarah Maidani.

Naomi Watts was also staying here now. After a month of filming together, there was no reason Regulus couldn't win her over.

Naomi was unlike Kate or Mila. Kate was here simply to support a minor role, and Mila's visit to the set was supposedly to see Kate. As a result, their interactions with Regulus had been more limited than Naomi's.

"Darling! What are you making?"

Regulus wrapped his arms around Naomi from behind as she was preparing dinner in the kitchen, his hands naturally slipping into her apron.

As a woman who had struggled for eight years before making a name for herself in America, she would normally scorn and resist this kind of behavior. But Regulus had easily shattered her resolve.

This all started not long after filming began. Originally, Regulus hadn't planned to act on her so soon—but by coincidence, Naomi had seen Sarah using magic. That left him no choice but to move forward with his plans for Naomi earlier than expected.

The crimson gemstone jewelry he had given Sarah—all twelve brooches—had each been enchanted.

Twelve brooches, twelve spells—designed to compensate for the fact that Sarah Maidani was a Squib.

These brooches could automatically switch based on Sarah's will, meaning the spells could change at any moment. In terms of casting speed, they weren't much slower than a wizard using a wand.

Still, it depended on the user. Sarah had used these spells to take down wrongdoers before.

First came Petrificus Totalus, followed by Reducio, then a stomp to crush the target, and finally Scourgify.

This sequence was tailored by Regulus specifically for the golden-eyed girl—highly effective and efficient, and more importantly, clean. There would be no messy splatters of blood.

The compounding effects of spell upon spell could be terrifying. In the world of Harry Potter magic, several major systems existed, one of which was Transfiguration—a complex and distinct category far beyond a simple Transfiguration Charm.

When someone petrified with Petrificus Totalus was then shrunk with Reducio, all it took was dehydration for them to become a lifeless stone.

When Sarah stomped down, it felt no different than squashing a lump of clay. And since the object was no longer alive, it could be disposed of entirely using Scourgify.

Muggers blocking roads and groping photographers—several had already met their end beneath Sarah's foot.

But they were all scum. The golden-eyed girl felt no guilt about crushing them.

The problem arose when Naomi Watts caught Sarah using Accio to summon an object.

At that critical moment, Sarah didn't cast Obliviate. She just stood there, staring at Naomi in a daze.

"Oh my God! What did I just see?"

Naomi had just witnessed Sarah summon objects around the room with a flick of her finger.

She hadn't expected the actress playing the lead—just like her character in the script—to actually have magical powers in real life.

"Don't go!"

Panicking, Sarah tried to stop Naomi. Her ability to use magic had to remain secret.

The Ministry of Magic had rules for underage magic, and her powers had come from Regulus. She couldn't risk causing trouble for him.

"Relax! I won't tell anyone."

Naomi said reassuringly as she slowly backed toward the door.

"You can't leave. Impedimenta!"

In her flustered state, Sarah cast Impedimenta to block Naomi's exit, sealing the door.

As a result, Regulus Black—who was standing outside—saw Naomi frantically slapping at an invisible barrier where the door should have been.

"Help me! Regulus, help me!"

Naomi Watts was shouting inside the room, but Regulus, who stood outside the door, couldn't hear a single sound.

The moment Sarah Mehdani heard Naomi calling out to Regulus through the door, fear took hold of her.

The effects of the Muffliato spell came and went at will. The door that had been invisible to Naomi suddenly vanished, and she immediately threw herself into Regulus's arms.

"Hey! Naomi, what are you doing?"

Regulus Black grabbed Naomi by the arms, his magic slowly flowing into her body.

"Her! Sarah—she... I don't know how to describe it. She can make things fly around!"

As Regulus Black's magic entered her, Naomi Watts's tension rapidly eased.

"Fly around? Naomi, do you happen to know the name of that spell?"

Regulus Black looked at the beauty in his arms with a teasing smile.

"You said... fly around... The spell has a name! Oh my God! You're—"

Naomi Watts clapped her hand over her mouth in shock. She hadn't expected Regulus Black to know about Sarah's abilities—he might be the same kind of person. And now that she had learned his secret, Naomi didn't even dare to imagine what might come next.

If she were still in the same panicked state as moments ago, she probably wouldn't have registered what Regulus had just said.

But because Regulus Black's magic had calmed her so quickly, she immediately caught the meaning behind his words.

"I said, Accio is the name of the spell. And spells can only be used by wizards. Congratulations, Naomi—you've just discovered the doorway to a new world."

Regulus Black pushed Naomi back into the room and closed the door behind them.

Naomi Watts was on the verge of tears. Without Regulus Black's arrival, she might still have had a chance to escape. But now, the man she found most alluring had become her greatest obstacle—perhaps even the one who would end her. Naomi was plunged into despair.

As Regulus Black's magic coursed through her, Naomi began to move like a marionette. Just moments ago, she had full control over her body, but in the blink of an eye, it no longer obeyed her will. She knew this was all because of Regulus.

He had only grabbed her by the arms—there was no rough pulling like a hostage situation. Yet somehow, her body simply stopped being hers to command.

It was precisely because it all felt so natural that it became truly terrifying. There was not even the slightest room to resist.

"Look at you, Naomi. The movie's only just started filming, and you're already in this state—and you're the lead. This puts me in a difficult position."

Regulus Black had Naomi sit down, then sat across from her. With a flick of the spell Accio, he summoned an empty glass, and with a snap of his fingers, it filled with warm water.

"Naomi, drink some warm water—it'll help calm you down."

With a wave of his hand, the glass floated over to her.

There was no doubt—this wasn't stage magic or an illusion. Naomi had no choice but to reach out and take the glass. The warmth in her hands made it clear: she had no way to fight back against this man in front of her.

Regulus Black had many ways to control a woman, but he rarely used anything excessive.

If talking could get the job done, he wouldn't raise a hand. But if action was necessary, he would never waste words.

So, he had simply added a love potion to the glass of warm water.
