Marvel’s Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse

Chapter 127: Chapter 126: The Temporal Task Force’s First Battle

Sometimes, fate works in mysterious ways.

Just when you think all hope is lost, Lady Luck might be waiting around the corner, playfully beckoning you forward.

With his exceptional skills in physical persuasion, Peter easily took control of the bridge. With the assistance of his soul abilities, he quickly pieced together the identities of everyone present.

He also discovered a new derivative power granted by Doctor Strange's mystical soul magic—lie detection.

After all, the soul is the hardest thing to deceive. No matter how well someone might lie, any subtle fluctuations in their soul would immediately expose their dishonesty.

And, well, the identities of these people in the bridge? Far from ordinary.

Two of them were core members of the most powerful families in the UK—figures of immense influence.

Just how powerful?

According to the original plan, out of the three captured Allosaurus mutants, two were supposed to be privately taken by these families for their own use, while only one would be handed over to the government for research.

The rest of the people on board? They were renowned experts and professors in paleontology, genetics, and other related fields—figures so significant that even losing just one of them could shake the entire scientific community.

And there were ten of them here!

Originally, these people had rushed to get close to the prehistoric beasts for research. Instead, they all ended up as Peter's hostages in one swift move.

After confirming their identities, Peter wasted no time. He picked two of them, wrapped them in webs, and hung them outside the bridge's walls.

This act sent the rest of the bridge crew into a panic.

Some even accused him of being a terrorist, demanding that he treat them with humanitarian decency.

Peter? He wasn't having any of that.

They want to erase you from existence, and you're talking about humanitarian decency? You'd have to be an idiot to fall for that.

Without even exchanging a word with the warships outside or the approaching transport vessels, Peter's actions alone were enough to make them hesitate, buying him precious time.

Two warships, two transport ships, and several smaller assault boats released from the fleet had now completely surrounded the transport ship Peter had hijacked, forming a tight perimeter.

On the bridge behind the ship, soldiers had taken their positions, aiming their weapons downward, ready to fire.

Above, several fighter jets circled ominously in the sky.

Completely surrounded.

There was no better way to describe Peter's current predicament.

But he wasn't the least bit worried.

It might look like there was no escape, but there was one path these people could never imagine—

The Quantum Passage!

The Gateway to Parallel Universes!

BOOM... BOOM...

Suddenly, tremors rippled through the massive bridge, rhythmic vibrations shaking the thick concrete surface.

The two Allosaurus mutants had returned.

At the same time, high above in the sky, the enormous form of Norman the Pteranodon loomed into view.

Their sudden arrival shattered the tense stalemate.

"If that freak came here to rescue these dinosaurs, then we should capture them first—we need leverage!" one of the commanders swiftly made a call.

Immediately, the fighter jets hidden within the clouds began descending, locking onto the massive Pteranodon soaring through the sky.

Meanwhile, on the ground, the land troops—who had previously hesitated—now readied their weapons and opened fire on Allosaurus Noro and Allosaurus Sart.

Roar!

The two Allosaurus mutants let out furious howls.

"Boss! Big Boss! Can we fight back? This hurts—a lot!" Allosaurus Noro shouted.

Earlier, when Peter had sent them to the outskirts to find the Pteranodon Norman, he had specifically instructed them not to take human lives unless necessary.

Whatever they had done before submitting to him was none of his business. But now that they had pledged loyalty to him, he wasn't about to let them go on a killing spree.

Of course, self-defense was another matter entirely.

He wasn't some overly righteous fool. Taking blows without fighting back? Only an idiot would do that!

Peter answered Noro's question with action.

He grabbed two rifles from the ground, his immense strength and superhuman reflexes allowing him to dual-wield with ease.

His marksmanship—honed during his battle against Kingpin and his men in the Ultimate Universe—was once again on full display.

Despite using an assault rifle, he handled it with the precision of a sniper, hitting his targets exactly where he aimed.

Wherever his barrel pointed, another soldier fell.

But Peter was holding back. He only targeted non-lethal areas like the arms and legs, ensuring they were incapacitated rather than killed.

This was his final line.

After all, with his vibranium suit, these soldiers had no chance of hurting him. So, instead of unnecessary bloodshed, he showed them a small mercy—one that only the Temporal Spider-Man could afford to give.

In mere moments, the bridge section closest to him was nearly cleared of enemies.

Some lay wounded on the ground, unable to continue fighting. Others, terrified by the fate of their comrades, had taken cover and refused to re-emerge.

On a battlefield, a single elite marksman could inflict both physical and psychological devastation on enemy troops.

And Peter? He was doing the job of two.

How could these soldiers not feel fear?

Meanwhile, at the junction where the sea bridge met the streets, the two Allosaurus mutants had begun breaking through the blockade.

But their advance wasn't going smoothly.

The soldiers had used armored personnel carriers to form a makeshift barricade.

Even with their immense strength, the Allosaurus mutants couldn't simply shove aside multiple heavy vehicles blocking their way.

And when they attempted to leap over the barricade, they were met with rocket launchers—blasted back mid-air by the soldiers waiting on the other side.

Infuriated, the two Allosaurus let out ear-piercing roars.

Fortunately, their thick hides made them nearly impervious to regular bullets.

It stung, but it wasn't enough to cause serious harm.

Above, Pteranodon Norman had locked eyes with the approaching fighter jets.

As a king of the skies, Norman's temperament was anything but gentle.

The only reason he had submitted to Peter was pure self-preservation.

Now, as he watched the fighter jets speeding toward him, a glint of cold hostility flashed through his slit-like reptilian pupils.

Screech!

With a piercing cry, Norman flapped his massive wings with full force.

Despite his seemingly bulky frame, he accelerated in an instant, moving with a burst of speed that matched the incoming fighter jets!

The pilots inside the jets were caught completely off guard.

Who would have thought that a creature of flesh and blood could move this fast?

By the time one of them registered the danger, Norman was already above his cockpit.

Scrrreeech!

His razor-sharp talons slashed at the fighter jet's cockpit, leaving deep gashes across its reinforced glass canopy.

Inside, the pilot's face went pale as he frantically jerked the controls, attempting to shake off the enraged Pteranodon.
