Mash-up Anime World: Creating the SCP Foundation to Contain Anomalies

Chapter 388: Chapter 379: Gastrea?

When Haruto arrived, he originally planned to observe the abnormal properties of the Red Pool.

Then, he would directly use the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to kill the Red Pool completely.

Although this thing was troublesome, it couldn't possibly resist supreme divinity.

However—Since there was a spatial fluctuation beneath the Red Pool—Haruto decided to check the other side of that space first.

If there was still human civilization on the other side...

Then slashing it apart with the Mystic Eyes might very well result in the extinction of a world, the annihilation of a civilization.

Though Haruto was no saint—This sort of thing still required caution.

So, after waiting for a while...

The Red Pool (SCP-354) began to stir again, the blood-like liquid churning violently.

Seizing the moment, Haruto's eyes turned completely red, with black blades spinning rapidly within.

Using Kamui, he directly tore open the emerging spatial rift.

Then, Haruto dove right in.

The Red Pool immediately went still.

The monster entity that had been about to emerge—Was shredded into pieces by the spatial forces.

Spatial Travel.

In just a blink, Haruto arrived in another world. And he was suspended high in the sky, above the clouds.

Shaking his head slightly, he cleared away the discomfort from using Kamui.

Ultimately, while Kamui could manipulate space, it still wasn't powerful enough.

He needed to accelerate research on Transport Fluid 22, or try to acquire a spatial divinity—or even a supreme one.

Thinking about this, Haruto adjusted his posture.

Then, he stopped falling midair, stepping on nothing, floating effortlessly.

The first thing to do when entering a new world was to observe the surroundings, and look for any iconic landmarks.

But before he could start—

Haruto was overcome with nausea.

His irises shimmered with rainbow hues. As he looked upon this world once more—He saw the death lines permeating the entire atmosphere.

Something invisible filled the entire world, like air itself.

And to kill it—He'd have to erase it from the conceptual level, sever its death point directly.

Otherwise, even the death lines would be impossible to cut.

It was probably some unknown virus that transformed creatures into monsters—Or a kind of mental contamination carried by both the Red Pool and the virus.

Although it had no effect on Haruto—He still found the sensation revolting.

Without acting recklessly, Haruto dismissed the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Now, he began to observe this world in earnest.

Aside from the nauseating feeling hanging in the air—The world gave Haruto a first impression of bleakness.

The entire landscape seemed to be shrouded in gray.

The sky was murky and gray.

The ground had an eerie reddish tint.

Below him, beyond the clouds, was a dense, primeval forest.

But the trees were somewhat decayed.

Haruto surveyed his surroundings and frowned. These towering trees and thick shrubs—Didn't seem to have formed over a long period.

He could vaguely see traces of artificial structures.

Abandoned buildings, some still retaining their framework—After all, steel and concrete were hard to completely corrode.

In the distance, there was even a massive shadow.

A towering, black monolith—

Piercing the clouds above.

Clearly, human civilization had once existed in this world. But whether it still existed was another question.

With Haruto's vision—He could see several monster entities occasionally darting through the forest.

They were almost identical to the ones ejected from the Red Pool.

Only the size and form varied.

If these monsters broke out across the entire world—Without some special countermeasure or someone like Haruto, an overpowered anomaly—

Then global annihilation would be unavoidable.

After all, these monsters were more adaptive than humans and better suited to become apex predators.

Moreover, they were extremely aggressive toward humans.

They were simply unclean creations.

"Click… Speaking of unclean creations, could this be another work of the Scarlet King?"

Haruto frowned.

In this multiverse—

Nine and a half out of ten unclean creations were either directly or indirectly made by the Scarlet King.

Just as Haruto was starting to feel a headache—

Sounds of disturbance came from below.

Dust rose into the air.

In the forest, several monsters were converging on a particular spot. And at the center of it, there seemed to be the sounds of a battle.

Haruto didn't hesitate—he dove down.

To draw the attention of these monsters—

From prior experience, the highest probability was that it involved a human.

Sure enough, upon descending a bit—Haruto spotted a black-haired girl with long straight hair, darting desperately through the woods.

Behind her, a spider-shaped monster was giving relentless chase.

"A human, huh. Now that's a surprise."

Haruto had honestly thought this world's human population was already extinct.

Even the wind carried the stench of decay. Still, if someone was alive, that was a good sign.

So, just as the spider monster lunged at the black-haired girl from behind—

Haruto dropped from the sky.

And stomped the spider monster into pieces with one foot.

The black-haired girl, hearing the sudden gust from behind, immediately turned and drew the katana at her waist to strike.

But she froze mid-swing.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the scene in front of her.

She felt like she was going insane.

Haruto wasn't surprised by her reaction.

These monster entities—whether it was their biological toughness or regenerative capabilities—

They didn't look like something that could be killed with mere physical force.

Much less crushed with a single stomp.

But with Haruto's body—His fists and feet were hardly weaker than electromagnetic firearms.

Otherwise, what's the point of the high-evolution blacklight virus?

You think it's just for show?

After a brief moment of shock, the black-haired girl quickly said:

"There are more Gastrea approaching—run!"

After warning Haruto, she turned to keep running.

Haruto raised an eyebrow.

The fact that this black-haired girl could still spare the thought to warn him during a life-or-death crisis was already commendable.

If it were someone more cold-blooded—They'd probably treat Haruto, who fell from the sky, as a decoy and flee without looking back.

But—

Gastrea?

Haruto found the term very familiar.

He was sure he'd heard it somewhere before.

Just as he was trying to recall the origin of the word—Loud crashes echoed from the surrounding trees.

Monster entities—no, Gastrea—were charging in. And the sound was coming from every direction.

They were surrounded.

The black-haired girl's face turned pale at the sound.

She didn't continue running. Instead, she returned to Haruto's side and gripped her katana tightly.

"Are you a Civil Officer?" she asked.

Haruto shook his head.

That term, in this world, probably didn't mean what it normally does.

Haruto's gaze fell on the katana in the girl's hands.

This sword...

Was strange.

The metal it was forged from—Haruto had never seen it before. It probably didn't exist on his homeworld, Earth.

The Foundation hadn't cataloged it either.

Noticing that Haruto's eyes lingered on her sword—

The black-haired girl grew anxious.

"The Gastrea are coming!"

She knew she absolutely couldn't face multiple unknown-class Gastrea on her own.

In fact—Even the one that Haruto had crushed earlier—She wasn't confident she could've defeated it.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have been fleeing so desperately. She would've taken it down, then planned her escape more efficiently.

Now, all her hope rested on Haruto.

Yet Haruto… didn't seem the least bit concerned
