Me, A Villain! Is It So Wrong To Live off The Heroines?

Chapter 23 - The Bai Family… Bai Suxin?

Chapter 023:The Bai Family… Bai Suxin?

When the woman called him by name, Su Mingxuan naturally felt a bit surprised.

Even though her face was obscured, her elegance and presence were unmistakable. If they had met before, he was sure he wouldn’t have forgotten her. Men were like that—especially when it came to beautiful women.

The woman seemed a little nervous under his gaze but still softly said, “I saw you in the capital five years ago.”

“I don’t remember,” Su Mingxuan replied flatly.

“Your status is high. Naturally, you wouldn’t notice people like me.” She gave a small, fleeting smile, then lowered her head again as if unwilling to say more.

Seeing that, Su Mingxuan didn’t press.

Suddenly, painful cries echoed from the direction where Brother Sheng’s group had been dragged off. Su Mingxuan didn’t bother to look. Instead, his attention landed on the woman’s hand and shin, where blood had soaked through. She has obviously been cut by glass shards during the earlier chaos.

“Is your hand okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?” he asked with a frown.

“No…” Her eyes flashed with fear. She looked at Su Mingxuan almost pleadingly. “Please don’t take me to the hospital. I’ll be fine on my own.”

That answer deepened Su Mingxuan’s frown.

This woman had problems—serious ones. Who in their right mind would be afraid of going to the hospital? Either she couldn’t be exposed to the public, or her identity couldn’t be known. And the fact she recognized him only made it more suspicious. Could she have been coerced by some Child of Fate?

But no, those guys were always righteous, loyal, glowing with protagonist aura. They wouldn’t stoop to such methods, would they?

The woman struggled to her feet despite her pale face. Su Xiaomeng quickly grabbed her arm to steady her. “Big sis, don’t push yourself. There’s glass still stuck in your leg! If you keep walking like this, it’ll only get worse!”

Even in pain, the woman managed to stand. “Thank you both,” she said with a sorrowful smile, then turned and limped forward. But after just a few steps, she stumbled and nearly fell. Su Xiaomeng rushed forward to catch her.

“See?” Xiaomeng huffed. “I told you! You’re losing blood. If you don’t go to the hospital, what if something serious happens?”

Su Mingxuan silently observed her with a strange look in his eyes.

“I can’t go to the hospital…” the woman murmured bitterly, her tone laced with sadness. “If I go… they’ll find me.”

“Who? The Qinglong Gang?” Su Xiaomeng immediately exploded. “Those bastards?! Break their other legs! Don’t worry, sis—this guy here will take care of them. No matter who’s behind it, he can handle it!” She jabbed her finger at Su Mingxuan confidently.

Su Mingxuan sighed inwardly. Since when did this girl think he was Superman?

The woman smiled and shook her head, glancing at her destroyed stall. Tears slid silently down her cheeks. It wasn’t just a stall—it was her livelihood, her hope of survival.

Su Mingxuan exhaled lightly. “What’s your name?”

The woman hesitated, then answered quietly, “Bai Suxin.”

Bai Suxin?

There was a Bai family in the capital, but he rarely paid attention to such things. He knew little about them. But that could be checked later.

“If you don’t want to go to the hospital, fine. Come with me,” Su Mingxuan said. “I’ll have my private doctor treat your injuries. After that, you can leave whenever you want. Just pretend we never met.”

Bai Suxin shook her head gently. She understood what he meant, but how could she accept such a large favor so easily?

“Thank you, Young Master Su. But I can’t go to your place. If you must help, please just take me back to my rental apartment.”

Su Mingxuan nodded and signaled to the bodyguards.

The group headed toward the car. Bai Suxin’s injuries made walking difficult, and even with Su Xiaomeng helping her, she was clearly struggling. Su Mingxuan pretended not to see it. Helping more would just make things awkward. After all, they were strangers.

Once they were in the car, Su Mingxuan sat in the front passenger seat, listening as the two women whispered and giggled behind him. About five minutes later, the car turned into a poor neighborhood.

He glanced around and frowned. “It’s this far? You push your cart out alone every day?”

“Yes…” Bai Suxin nodded with a faint smile, her tired eyes still shining with determination.

“We’re here,” she said, pointing to a small parking lot ahead. “You can stop here. Thank you.”

The driver pulled over.

As Bai Suxin opened the door and stepped down, her leg immediately buckled from the pain, and she let out a soft groan but forced herself to endure it.

“Slow down, sis. I’ll help you,” Su Xiaomeng said, quickly getting out and taking her arm. Bai Suxin gave her a grateful smile, then turned to Su Mingxuan.

“Young Master Su… would you like to come up and sit for a bit?”

“No, thanks,” he replied without hesitation.

She gave another faint smile. With Xiaomeng’s support, she slowly made her way inside, the bodyguards following close behind to protect their young lady.

Only after they disappeared around a corner did Su Mingxuan take out his phone and dial a number.

The call connected, but the other end said nothing.

“Look into the Bai family… Bai Suxin,” Su Mingxuan said quietly.

“Yes,” came the simple reply.
