Adam stepped out of his car, a striking red vehicle that immediately drew countless eyes. Despite the absence of any recognizable logo or branding, the car's design and craftsmanship radiated sophistication, making it clear this was no ordinary vehicle. Ignoring the attention, Adam gave a subtle thought, and the car smoothly drove itself away in search of a parking spot. Most of the vehicles in the Gate of Babylon operated with his mental commands.

"Nice car you've got there," a young man said, approaching with a friendly smile. "I haven't heard of self-driving cars like that hitting the market."

Adam paused for a brief moment, his blank gaze settling on the young man before he turned away without saying a word, continuing on his way toward class.

"Oh, I'm Tom. Nice to meet you," the young man added cheerfully, undeterred. His enthusiasm, however, was met with nothing but silence. Adam continued walking, giving no indication he had even heard him.

Tom stood there for a second, caught off guard by the cold response. As a new student, he hadn't heard much about Adam, but he hadn't expected to be completely ignored.

"You're not much of a talker, are you?" Tom tried again, hurrying to catch up. Just as he drew closer, his path was suddenly blocked. Blessing appeared in front of him, her posture firm and her piercing gaze stopping Tom in his tracks.

"He's not interested. Strange for a new student to be so curious about him," Blessing said, raising an eyebrow. Her tone was sharp, and her words instantly made Tom's heart skip a beat.

"I'm just trying to make friends, I meant no harm," Tom said quickly, taking a step back. But deep down, he was cursing Blessing's interference. He needed to get close to Adam for his skill to activate. Once it did, he'd have a complete breakdown of Adam—his level, skills, strengths, capabilities, weaknesses, personality, and every detail that mattered. It was a powerful ability, but it required three specific steps to fully work. He just needed to get through the first.

Blessing nodded slightly, her expression calm, but inwardly, she was already suspicious. Tom's behavior set off all kinds of red flags, and she made a mental note to keep an eye on him. Her sharp instincts rarely missed anything.

Her gaze shifted toward Adam, her eyes filled with unspoken questions about his car. 'Where did he even get something like that?' she wondered, but she sighed instead of asking. Adam walked ahead, as indifferent as ever, not even acknowledging her presence or her efforts.

A small pout formed on her lips. The least he could do is show a little gratitude, she thought. 'I'm doing my part as his unofficial bodyguard, after all. Couldn't he at least treat me like a queen for all this trouble?' But she couldn't say such things, she had to thank Adam, thanks to him, her father managed to clear the E-grade dungeons after 30 hours.

Time passed, and honestly, the following few months were uneventful for Adam. The most notable development revolved around Blessing, who seemed determined to push herself further into his life. Much to Adam's frustration, her persistence—often justified by her pregnancy—left him with little room to outright reject her. Reluctantly, he found himself tolerating her growing presence, albeit begrudgingly.

Meanwhile, the anticipated chaos surrounding the emergence of E-grade dungeons didn't escalate as many had feared. As more parties ventured into these dungeons, they returned stronger, equipped with greater skills and confidence, which made subsequent clears more manageable. However, this progress came at a cost. Many participants went days without sleep, relying on skills to stave off exhaustion just to keep up with the increasing rate at which these dungeons were appearing.

Dungeon breaks did occur, but most happened far from human settlements, minimizing the immediate threat to cities. These breaches were addressed when the situation allowed, ensuring stability remained the priority. Unlike the earlier F-grade dungeons, E-grade dungeons carried no entry fees, attracting a steady influx of capable parties eager to claim their share of the rewards.

Of course, this ease of access came with a grim price. Thousands perished in the process, their inexperience or overconfidence proving fatal. Yet, for every casualty, many others rose stronger, and the rapid growth in power among adventurers led to the creation of new guilds. These guilds, in turn, helped ease the burden, making it slightly easier for humanity to keep up with the overwhelming tide of dungeons.

Adam? Adam focused solely on F-grade dungeons. With most adventurers occupied clearing the increasingly frequent E-grade dungeons, Adam had the freedom to sweep through hundreds of F-grade dungeons daily. Using his clones to spread out across nearby cities, he methodically cleared dungeon after dungeon. This inadvertently earned him a level of gratitude from many adventurers and guilds, as his efforts allowed them to focus on the more pressing threat of E-grade dungeons. Of course, Adam wasn't motivated by altruism—he simply wanted to make money.

Despite the declining value of F-grade monster cores and mana stones, Adam's efforts still yielded impressive profits. On average, he made around $500 million a day, an amount that couldn't be ignored, even as market saturation brought down prices.

As months passed, Adam eventually turned his attention to E-grade dungeons. By that time, clearing such dungeons had become far more normalized, with guilds successfully stabilizing the process. Guilds began dominating cities, effectively claiming exclusive rights to any dungeon that appeared within their respective territories. This made it more challenging for Adam to claim dungeons himself, but by then, his wealth had already ballooned into the hundreds of billions. He no longer cared for the dungeons and did what he could do.

Tom? He tried multiple times to get close to Adam, but Adam ignored him each time. If Adam didn't brush him off outright, Blessing always seemed to conveniently show up to intervene. This combination effectively ensured Tom's skill couldn't work on Adam. Eventually, Tom gave up and disappeared without further attempts.

Blessing? She stopped attending school once it became impossible to hide her pregnancy. Where did she go? Much to Adam's annoyance, she began showing up at his palace to relax, claiming the luxurious environment was ideal for her and the baby's well-being. And since everything in the palace was top-tier, from food to accommodations, Blessing firmly refused to leave. Adam couldn't argue against her reasoning—after all, it was true.

Michael? The last time Adam saw him, Michael was moments away from challenging him to a fight. However, Michael stopped himself when Blessing intervened to prevent the confrontation. Since then, Michael had kept his distance, likely out of respect for Blessing's father, who held some sway over him.

Mark? Mark had never returned to college after Adam put him in that genjutsu. He seemed to have vanished completely, and Adam didn't care enough to investigate his status or whereabouts.

Jacob? Jacob severed all ties with their parents and went on to establish the Fire Dragon Guild. His rise was marked by a ruthless trail of revenge, leaving many of his enemies shattered in his wake. This earned him notoriety and a long list of enemies. The government attempted to act against him, but Jacob's rapid growth in power over the past few months forced them to hold back, opting to bide their time until they could deal with him properly.

Jacob had tried reaching out to Adam a few times, but Adam successfully dodged every attempt. Eventually, Jacob gave up on direct contact, though he began sending weekly letters instead. These letters ranged from simple check-ins to updates on his day-to-day life.

It was worth noting that the Fire Dragon Guild and the Zenith Guild had become quite close. It didn't take a genius to figure out why.

[Almost 12 months since the earthquake, 1 week away from hitting the 1-year mark.]

"So, how was your 19th birthday?" Blessing asked, clinging tightly to Adam's arm, refusing to let go despite his obvious attempts to shake her off.

"It would've been better without you around," Adam said coldly, his tone as sharp as ever. Blessing, unbothered, simply stuck out her tongue in response.

"You're so cold. Always pushing people away. What if I just dropped dead? Wouldn't it be sad if those were the last words you ever said to me?" she teased mockingly, but Adam didn't even bother to acknowledge her, his silence speaks volumes.

It was Adam's 19th birthday, though he had no interest in celebrating it. Blessing, however, had taken it upon herself to plan something extravagant. She had scoured the ends of the earth—well, not literally, but close enough—to find him anime movies, as well as a rare copy of the Fast and Furious movie that never officially made it to theaters.

The 13th installment, a wild spectacle, had them driving back in time using "the power of science," racing alongside dinosaurs, and even bringing a T-Rex back to the modern day to become part of their family. Sadly, it was never released to the public because of the earthquake, making it a rare gem that Blessing had gone out of her way to secure.

Despite her efforts, Adam remained as indifferent as ever, silently wishing for peace and solitude.

"Here, I know you have a deep love for this kind of stuff... though I'll never understand why you like something so dumb," Blessing said, handing Adam a flash drive with a playful grin.

"That holds a collection of movies that never got released to the public because of the earthquake. It also has some rare ones lost for... special reasons. Happy birthday," she added before leaning in and planting a quick kiss on his cheek.

Adam stood there, holding the flash drive, his expression unreadable. He glanced at it, feeling an unfamiliar and unsettling mix of gratitude and nostalgia. It wasn't often someone gave him something he actually cared about.

"Falling for me?" Blessing teased with a sly grin, noticing the rare flicker of emotion on his face.

And just like that, any complicated feelings Adam might have been experiencing vanished. He took the flash drive without a word, turned, and ignored her completely, making her burst into laughter.

"I should've recorded it, the infamous edge lord catching feelings! What a day!" she said, laughing as Adam walked away. "Oh, don't worry, I'll make sure to tell this story to our kid someday. I couldn't forget it if I tried, your birthday and everything!"

Adam sighed deeply, regretting once again ever sleeping with her.
