Inside the cockpit, surrounded by technology and magic-infused data streams, Aslan nodded to himself.
He wasn't a scientist in his past life, so completing this masterpiece purely with technology was impossible. Magic was the foundation.
To give the machine intelligence rivaling advanced AI, he had one last step: placing the White Dragon Soul—kept since Great Britain—into a special cockpit instrument.
With the White Dragon Soul as the wisdom core, the Supreme Masterpiece would one day operate autonomously in emergencies, even without orders.
The core of the Supreme Masterpiece was the only relatively intact Mecha-God core Aslan had found—the core of Hephaestus, god of fire and forging. Through special means and fairy writing, it had been converted into an energy source powering the Mecha-God's movements and combat.
Thanks to Hephaestus's divine nature, this core was easier to convert than those of other gods.
If self-destruction became necessary, its power would be no match for a small Gundam—but leftover materials allowed Aslan to equip it with a blast comparable to Big Ivan's explosion.
"Integrate White Dragon Soul. Check compatibility."
[Dragon Soul fusion in progress... fusion complete. Compatibility confirmed.]
[Hello, driver. Supreme Masterpiece—Justice at your service.]
Aslan smiled at the Supreme Masterpiece's newly installed intelligent butler voice. This was the final step toward full intelligent consciousness.
"Prepare to input driver information."
[Understood. Preparing driver input.]
From his pocket, Aslan withdrew a small dagger, cut his hand, and let blood drip onto the operating table. The table glowed brightly, absorbing his blood and scanning his DNA. Simultaneously, Aslan infused magic power into the system.
Combining blood and magical energy bound Aslan uniquely to his masterpiece. Unless someone cloned him perfectly—replicating his magic signature—no one else could operate it.
Days had passed since Lucius returned east to resist Arthur's advance. With both Huns and Romans dispersed, Aslan slowed his pace to perfect his creation.
He hadn't noticed time nearing King Arthur's legendary end. Had Lucius not retreated in haste, Aslan would have struggled to place the timeline.
Opening his small notebook, he wrote:
"My supreme masterpiece is complete. Next, I will make final arrangements to witness the Roman emperor's fate. Then I will return home to witness the king's final choice—and see if I can alter his ending.
This travelogue ends here. Written by Paladin: Aslan."
He placed the travelogue in a flying test device nearby, uncertain if it would become a relic or fade into obscurity.
Aslan opened the cockpit door, waved to Melusine beside him, excitement shining in his eyes.
"It's done, Melusine. Let me take you flying this time!"
Melusine leapt into the cockpit with ease, inspecting the cozy interior meant for two. She licked her lips thoughtfully—as if recalling some special pleasures shared with Aslan.
Aslan didn't notice. He gestured to the rear seat, reserved not only for Melusine but also, potentially, his future heroic spirit summoner—who might accompany him on the battlefield.
Whether to protect or empower that summoner was a decision for another time.
Which boy doesn't love big robots? Even if indifferent, curiosity and longing run deep. Aslan, now immersed in a world of magic and wonder, had built a giant robot from a former god's body, blending ancient tech and enchantment into a true masterpiece.
Even if considered a new god, his Supreme Masterpiece could fully shoulder the responsibility.
"Melusine, get ready! Justice, close the cockpit and start at full power!"
[Understood. Machine starting up.]
"Aslan Pendragon, Supreme Masterpiece Justice, attack!"
Inside the mountain, the massive mecha—red and silver-white, sharp-edged like a Gundam—raised its head. Its green eyes flashed as power wings spread wide. The Hephaestus core roared to life, spraying magic ether from launch ports and lifting the machine into the sky.
Not quite faster than light, but easily breaking the sound barrier, the red streak pierced the clouds, sonic booms echoing and streaks diffusing in the blue.
Moments later, the red mecha stood atop the clouds—majestic and godlike.
