Chapter 113: : Cerebane Ignites – The Purge of Klyrex Begins
📘 Chapter 113
🏙️ Scene 1: Old Klyrex – City of Forgotten Wires
The sun hadn't risen in Old Klyrex for over a decade. Fog hung heavy. Towering skyscrapers twisted with overgrown cables loomed like tombstones. This was a city consumed by the Mindspread—a viral Krono infection that turned abandoned mechs into berserk monsters.
Vance, suited in his exo-layer, sat inside Cerebane. Zake stood beside the launch panel, hand trembling.
"Vance… are you sure this is safe?"
"No," he replied, sealing the cockpit. "That's why it's worth it."
With a whine and snap of magnetic locks, Cerebane stepped out into the haunted streets. The moment its foot touched the ground, the mechs nearby stirred.
From the ruins, infected mechs—twisted beyond function—rose. Spider-like, snake-bodied, multi-eyed. No longer machines. No longer sane.
"Begin purge."
Cerebane's arm shifted into a twin-beam disruptor. With a flick, it fired—
—and deleted a Mindspread entity in one blow.
But more were coming.
And Cerebane's firewall began to scream.
"Infiltration Attempt Detected."
⚔️ Scene 2: Kael's Escape – The Corpse He Cannot Kill
High above the collapsing tower, Kael dragged Vaixen's lifeless body across a fractured corridor.
The face kept changing.
Every few seconds.
An old man… then a child… then a woman… then alien tentacles bursting out.
Kael growled.
"You're not even dead… are you?"
Suddenly, the corpse spoke.
"You think this ends with me, Kael? I'm a receiver. A relay. You stabbed the puppet, not the puppeteer."
Kael hurled the body off the edge of the tower. It didn't fall—it floated away, consumed in black static.
"Damn it. Vance was right."
As explosions rippled through the tower's core, Kael leapt onto his stealth mech Silverthrone and vanished into the stormclouds.
🧊 Scene 3: Naira Awakens – Subject 001 Enters the Stage
In the frost-clad underground chamber, the cryotube hissed open. The girl inside—Naira—stepped out barefoot, eyes glowing a muted lavender, wings partially unfurled like cracked glass.
Aeris stared, stunned.
"She's… not human. Not anymore."
Naira looked around, disoriented.
"Where… is the Prime Flame?"
Zake stepped forward, cautiously.
"Who are you?"
She blinked, then pointed directly at Zake.
"You… are the brother of the Last Wielder."
"You know Zeron?"
"He carries the fracture. I carry the origin. The balance is breaking."
Suddenly, the lights flickered.
An alarm blared.
"External breach detected."
"They've found her," Aeris whispered.
🌿 Scene 4: Zui and Verdion – The Vision of the Grove
Back in the Heartroot Grove, Zui meditated. Verdion stood behind her, glowing with faint golden threads. Elder Thiron reappeared, this time with a seed in his palm.
"You must plant this where no green has ever grown."
"Where?"
"In the heart of the Steel Waste. The place where Krono died once… and may die again."
Zui took the seed.
Suddenly, the vision broke. She found herself standing at a battlefield—future or past, she didn't know.
Zeron stood alone in the middle. Around him, dozens of mechs lay shattered. His body glowed purple. He screamed into the storm.
She gasped.
The seed in her hand pulsed.
"Verdion…" she whispered. "This world is going to burn."
🧬 Scene 5: Zeron's Mutation – The Spark of True Krono
Zeron sat in the city watchtower, watching over his siblings sleeping.
His chest still ached.
He removed his shirt—and gasped.
Veins of light… purple light… had started forming across his ribcage and neck.
He tried to suppress it.
But it wouldn't stop.
He clenched his fists.
"Not yet… I'm not ready."
But the Krono whispered back:
You don't get to choose readiness. You were chosen.
