MHA: A King's Legacy (BNHA x AOT)

Chapter 95: 95: Training with Yoroi Musha sensei

The workshop at SFIT buzzed with creative energy. It was a spacious, industrial-style room filled with workbenches, cutting-edge tools, and towering shelves stocked with every material imaginable. The air hummed with the sounds of drills, welders, and brainstorming voices.

The group had gathered after their classes to work on their respective projects, their enthusiasm palpable.

Baymax stood in the corner in his deactivated suitcase form, waiting to be summoned. Nimbus sat perched on a high shelf, his tiny nose twitching as he observed the bustling activity below. Occasionally, someone would offer him a treat, which he accepted with a regal air.

Tadashi was stationed at a bench near the back, focused on a prototype for a revolutionary mobility device. It was designed to assist people with physical disabilities in navigating uneven terrain.

The prototype resembled a lightweight exoskeleton, sleek and minimalistic, with sensors built into the joints for adaptive movement.

"Hey, Aiden," Tadashi called out, lifting his goggles. "Mind taking a look at this sensor array? It's supposed to detect uneven ground, but it keeps glitching."

Aiden, tinkering at his own station, wandered over and peered at the array. "Ah, your calibrations are off. The sensitivity's too high. Let me show you." He adjusted the settings, and the sensors sprang to life, smoothly adapting to simulated terrain.

"Thanks," Tadashi said with a grin. "You've got a knack for this."

Aiden shrugged modestly. "Well, it's no glitter bomb, but it's impressive."

Honey Lemon's corner was a vibrant explosion of colors and compounds. Her latest project involved creating textiles that could change color and texture based on environmental conditions.

She held up a swatch of fabric, which shifted from soft lavender to deep crimson as she waved her hand over it.

"Isn't it amazing?" she exclaimed, showing it to Aiden. "It could be used for fashion, safety gear, or even camouflage!"

"Impressive," Aiden replied, examining the fabric. "But what happens if someone sweats on it? Does it go tie-dye?"

Honey laughed. "Good point! I'll work on a waterproofing layer next."

Wasabi was meticulously assembling his plasma blades at a nearby station. His workspace was immaculate, with every tool and component neatly arranged. He adjusted the power core of one blade, its edge glowing faintly with blue plasma.

"These things are temperamental," Wasabi muttered, frowning at his calculations. "One wrong move, and it's a fire hazard."

Aiden wandered over, curious. "Need help?"

"Yeah, actually," Wasabi admitted. "The plasma isn't stable at lower power settings. Any ideas?"

Aiden studied the setup. "You're losing energy efficiency through the emitter coils. Try adding a superconducting layer to reduce resistance."

Wasabi nodded, impressed. "You really know your stuff, Aiden."

"I dabble," Aiden said with a smirk. "Plus, I'd rather not see this place go up in flames."

Fred, true to form, was in his own little world. His project was still vague, involving a spinning board covered in razor-sharp metal spikes.

"What is that supposed to do?" Honey Lemon asked, cautiously eyeing the contraption.

Fred grinned. "I call it the Fredinator! It's like a giant fidget spinner but... more dangerous!"

As if on cue, the contraption began spinning, sending sparks flying. Fred whooped, dodging the spinning blades with theatrical flair.

"Fred," Wasabi said, exasperated, "if you lose a limb, don't expect me to sew it back on."

"Relax," Fred replied. "It's all under control."

At that moment, one of the blades flew off, embedding itself harmlessly in a nearby wall. Nimbus squeaked indignantly from his perch, scurrying further away.

"Mostly under control," Fred added sheepishly.

Aiden's own workstation was a mix of chaos and ingenuity. He had decided to build a compact, multi-functional drone he called the "Floating Fortress." The device would be capable of reconnaissance, repair work, and even limited combat if needed.

Baymax, now activated, hovered nearby. "Aiden, may I assist you in assembling the drone's propulsion system?"

"Sure, Baymax," Aiden said, handing over a component. "Just make sure it doesn't explode."

Baymax tilted his head. "Explosions are suboptimal."

As they worked, Aiden explained his vision for the project to Honey Lemon, who had wandered over to watch. "It's like a Swiss Army knife but in drone form. It can scout, fix things, and maybe even shoot lasers."

"Lasers?" Honey said, raising an eyebrow. "You're really going all out."

Aiden grinned. "Go big or go home."

Midway through their work, Professor Fitzroy, the head of the engineering department, stopped by to check on their progress. Fitzroy was a tall, wiry man with a shock of gray hair and a perpetually bemused expression.

"What's this?" Fitzroy asked, peering at Aiden's drone.

"Just a little something I'm working on," Aiden replied casually.

Fitzroy chuckled. "A little something? This looks like a miniature battle station. I approve!"

He moved on to inspect everyone else's projects, offering advice and the occasional sarcastic comment. When he reached Fred, he raised an eyebrow.

"And what, pray tell, is this abomination?" Fitzroy asked, pointing at the spinning contraption.

"It's the Fredinator!" Fred said proudly.

Fitzroy sighed. "Of course it is."

As the evening wore on, the group began to wind down. The workshop was filled with laughter, the occasional explosion, and a sense of camaraderie. Aiden looked around, feeling a rare sense of belonging.

Nimbus hopped onto his lap, chittering contentedly. "Yeah, buddy," Aiden said, scratching the chinchilla behind the ears. "This is definitely my kind of place."

Fred, now covered in soot, grinned. "Welcome to the club, dude!"

[Elsewhere]

The bright sun rose over Musutafu, its rays glinting off the traditional tiled rooftops of the Yoroi Musha Agency building. It was an impressive structure designed to resemble a feudal-era castle, complete with high stone walls and a koi pond at the entrance.

Toru Hagakure, now fully visible to the world, stood at the gate, clad in her full-body hero costume: a sleek, skintight outfit in shades of emerald and silver, accented with faint glowing lines that hinted at its technological enhancements from Aiden.

For the first time in her hero journey, she felt fully seen—literally and figuratively. Her visibility had sparked curiosity and admiration from the agency's staff and other sidekicks, many of whom were fascinated by the blend of modern tech and her innate quirk.

Inside the dojo-like training hall, Yoroi Musha, the elderly samurai-themed pro hero, stood in his full armour, his imposing figure exuding wisdom and authority.

His stern gaze swept over Toru and the other interns, all standing in a respectful bowing posture before him.

"Toru Hagakure," Yoroi Musha said, his deep voice reverberating through the hall. "Today, we focus on discipline and strategy. Your ability to turn invisible is a powerful weapon, but it is useless without precision and purpose."

"Yes, sir!" Toru said, standing straighter than she ever had before.

Yoroi Musha gestured to a training dummy adorned in samurai armor. "Your task: neutralize this opponent using stealth and quick thinking. Remember, the shadows are your allies."

Toru grinned, her confidence bolstered by her new suit. With a flick of her wrist, she activated Aiden's gadget, rendering herself and her costume invisible.

The room fell silent as the other interns tried to track her movements.

She moved swiftly, her light footsteps silent on the tatami mats. As she approached the dummy, Yoroi Musha suddenly barked, "Predict her movements! Use your instincts!"

Several sidekicks lunged in Toru's direction, but her unpredictability worked to her advantage. She ducked, weaved, and leapt with agility, her invisibility making her untouchable. When she finally reached the dummy, she materialized just long enough to deliver a precise "strike" to its chest with her gadget-enhanced gloves, which emitted a harmless yet visible pulse of energy.

"Impressive," Yoroi Musha said, stroking his chin. "But remember, overconfidence is the enemy of stealth. Use your invisibility sparingly—appear where they least expect you."

Toru nodded, absorbing his advice.

After the morning's rigorous training, Yoroi Musha took Toru and two other interns on a patrol around the bustling downtown district. As they walked through the crowded streets, Toru was amazed by how differently people reacted to her now that they could see her.

As they continued, Yoroi Musha stopped abruptly. "A disturbance," he said, pointing toward an alley where a pair of low-level villains were attempting to break into a jewelry store.

"Interns," he said calmly, "this is your test. Handle it."

Toru exchanged a glance with her teammates and nodded. She activated her invisibility and moved silently into the alley. While her teammates provided a distraction, Toru snuck behind the villains, using her small size to her advantage. S

he reappeared just long enough to trip one of them with an energy lasso from her gloves, then vanished again.

"Where'd she go?!" the other villain yelled, spinning in confusion.

"She's everywhere!" Toru's teammate called out, taking advantage of the distraction to pin the second villain down.

The entire encounter lasted less than two minutes, but the thrill of success left Toru's heart racing.

"Well done," Yoroi Musha said as the police arrived. "Teamwork and stealth—both used effectively. You're learning."

The day wasn't over yet. Back at the agency, Yoroi Musha introduced a new exercise: sparring with other heroes. Toru was paired with one of the agency's senior sidekicks, a tall woman with a quirk that allowed her to extend her limbs like a whip.

"Don't go easy on her just because she's an intern," Yoroi Musha instructed.

The sparring match began, and Toru quickly realized that invisibility alone wouldn't win the fight. The sidekick's whip-like limbs lashed out unpredictably, forcing Toru to stay on her toes.

Remembering Yoroi Musha's earlier advice, Toru devised a strategy. She toggled her invisibility on and off rapidly, creating confusion about her location. Each time she reappeared, she moved closer, until finally, she delivered a decisive strike to the sidekick's torso.

Panting but victorious, Toru stood before Yoroi Musha, awaiting his critique.

"You're resourceful," he said with a nod. "But remember, a true warrior remains calm even when their strategy falters. Adapt faster."

"Yes, sir," Toru replied, her determination renewed.

As the sun set, casting a warm orange glow over the agency, Toru sat by the koi pond, reflecting on the day. She had pushed herself harder than ever before and felt a new level of confidence in her abilities.

Yoroi Musha approached, his armored footsteps heavy on the stone pathway. "Hagakure," he said, his voice softer now. "You have potential, but your journey is just beginning. Never stop seeking to improve."

Toru bowed deeply. "Thank you, Yoroi sensei. I won't let you down."

She looked at her reflection in the pond, visible and proud. For the first time, she truly felt like a hero.
