MHA: A Villain's Leading Wish

In Japan having powerful quirks and being a hero is supposed to give you huge amounts of status.

This is not the case for Shinji, having been born in a family that hates quirks, now that he's been found to have one, it didn't end up well for him. 

Shinji is currently in the basement of his house, locked. 'Why am I here? I just want to go outside.' He was currently curled up on a mattress in the corner of the basement. 

His parents had told him to stay there until they figure out what they were going to do with him. It had already been a week, all he got to eat and drink was bread and water. 

It had gotten to a point where he wanted to throw up from the repetitive eating of the same food. A week ago his parents still loved him, he wasn't so sure anymore.

Now that he was getting bored, he started remembering his life before his quirk manifested. 

Shinji went to school like a normal child, went out with his only friend Daigo, and most importantly, he spent time with his family.

Now that they've seen his quirk, the look in their eyes when they see him is different. 

There's no love, no warmth, only disgust and terror.

Just as Shinji, started thinking more about his situation, the door to the basement was opened. 

This was the first time in a week that he had seen his father. He always opened the door just enough to put out food and water, but this time he had entered. 

His father was tall and bulky, he always believed that relying on a quirk to achieve strength was for the incompetent. 

Shinji was approached by his dad, and he stood just a few feet away from him. "You, show me your quirk once more."

It hurt to be addressed by "you" but he didn't dwell on it and activated his quirk. What happened next could be described as nightmarish. 

A long, slim, dark hand tore open Shinji's chest before sticking its claws to the ground and pulling itself towards it. 

What came out of Shinji's chest could be described as a creature that came right out of a horror book.

The creature was bald, the limbs of his body were incredibly elongated and he walked on all fours with claws up to seven inches in length.

Despite what happened to Shinji, he didn't show any sign of pain or discomfort, it came naturally to him. 

Having been locked in this basement for almost a week, he had been experimenting with his quirk even though he was scared at first. 

Going back to the situation in the basement, Shinji's father was looking at the creature with caution.

Even if he wasn't trying to show it, he was scared of the creature, and this fear manifested on his hands that were now slightly trembling.

While frowning, Shinji's father looked at him said, "I will let you outside with the condition that you never use your quirk again. Am I making myself clear?"

His intimidating gaze towards Shinji felt like if he was tearing a hole through him.

The creature felt this and started to become agitated, making horrifying sounds and getting on a position to attack. 

The creature then lunged at his father at terrifying speeds and swiped at his throat.

Feeling that this was going to happen, Shinji decided to deactivate his quirk just in time so the creature was pulled back into his body.

The creature had missed the throat by a hair's breadth.

Seeing that his father was frozen with wide eyes, he quickly said, "I'm sorry! I promise to never use my quirk again."

Shinji decided to kneel and put his head on the ground seeking forgiveness. 

Shinji's father wasn't having any of it however, "You almost killed me you fucking kid!"

These were the last words Shinji heard before his head was kicked at full power. 

Everything was a blur, Shinji woke up a few minutes later. The first thing he noticed was the terrible migraine and blood on his hands. 

The pain became unbearable for him and he started crying, after all, he was only four years old. 

His father was nowhere to be seen and he was left alone again. Maybe he would never get out of this basement.

"Daddy, help!" But no help ever came for him.

It had been a month since Shinji was locked up in the basement.

He had decided to not use his quirk anymore since it took everything that he loved away from him.

The majority of his time was spent drawing with some spare crayons and imagining himself being rescued from his basement by All Might.

Though he was thinking about being rescued, his biggest wish was that everything returned back to normal.

He wanted his dad, his mom, and his sister to be there for him. He wanted his family back, it was all wishful thinking, and deep down he knew it. 

A few seconds passed before the door of the basement was opened once again. This time it wasn't his dad that came for him, it was his sister.

She walked inside and looked at Shinji for the first time in a month. 

He was looking unhealthily skinny, his clothes were full of grime and sweat, and his living environment was filled with his drawings scattered all around the place. 

There were no objects inside the basement apart from a nearly empty box of papers and crayons.

He hadn't washed his clothes all the time he was there and the smell filling the basement was insufferable. 

Shinji's "restroom" were two big plastic containers that contained tons of piss and poop. 

"What've they done to you Shinji?" his sister asked before pulling her shirt to her nose and walking towards her brother. 

"Miki! Why are you here?!" Shinji instantly became excited and got close to his sister. 

"Hi Shinji, sorry I didn't come visit before, I was away on a school trip to America, how're you doing?" As soon as those words left her mouth, she felt stupid. It was obvious that the living conditions of his brother were less than ideal. 

Shinji immediately grabbed a hold of Miki's arm and pleaded, "I wanna leave this place, please let me out. I wanna see mom and dad."

There was a slight frown on Miki's face but it quickly disappeared. "Come on up, our parents are away at the moment, let's go shower." 

"Really?! Let's go." Shinji dashed up the stairs without waiting for her sister and finally looked outside the basement where a change of scenery awaited him.
