MHA: A Villain's Leading Wish

Chapter 6: Wish

Hopelessness, this is what Shinji felt as he was currently running through the streets of Musutafu.

He was certain that he couldn't go back to his house. His whole life was ruined, all because he couldn't control himself, it was his fault.

'I should've never left my room.' Shinji started crying while running away.

As he was running, he didn't notice the man in front of him. Shinji bumped into the man before falling to the ground.

Shinji quickly stood up and kept on running.

The man looked at him closely. "Was he the boy from this morning?"

It was detective Tsukauchi who was looking at Shinji, wasting no time, he started running after him.

Tsukauchi was catching up to the boy but as he turned into an alleyway, he was suddenly nowhere to be seen.

Shinji had climbed up the nearest building and was looking down at Tsukauchi. He had heard the detective following him seconds after he had started running.

Anger started rising from within him.

He didn't know why he was angry, but he was sure that he wouldn't let his feelings control him any longer.

Looking one last time at the confused detective, he left.

———

Shinji had woken up and sat up from the hard floor. He had slept somewhere deep into a deserted alleyway.

Now that he had woken up, he didn't know what to do.

It was currently day time and there wasn't much he could do apart from wandering around the place.

He was doubting himself and wondering if he should still do his vigilante work.

Last night didn't turn out so great. Yes, he had saved the man, but he also harmed him and killed everyone in the process.

This wasn't the type of hero he aspired to be. Thinking more deeply about it, he thought about his life.

He had always wanted to be able to protect himself and others. Now that he had killed his dad, he would probably be hunted by the police.

Back in the day, he cared and wished for his family to accept him for who he was. He was now very apathic to the idea.

His mom knew about his quirk and surely already told the police about what had happened.

The second he was recognized on the streets it would end badly for him.

He was currently wearing last night's clothes, a dark hoodie, black sweatpants, and black shoes with grey socks.

Shinji knew that his choice of clothing was not very original, but it was very effective.

He wished to have something to hide his face with, like a mask or something like a cloth to wrap around his face.

His situation was kind of similar to all of those stories that he's read when he was locked up in his room.

Shinji didn't have a phone, his sister instead gave him books.

This was so he could spend some time doing something other than being locked in his room and escape from his reality when he needed it.

There was no time for her to visit Shinji as she had to manage her company. These past few years it was always work over him.

He had learned a lot from books, but he hadn't learned anything capable of making him an expert when it came to handling situations like his.

He had promised himself to protect the oppressed, but what could he do to stop this madness?

His friend had been killed just because he looked different from everyone else.

He had been living in misery for more than half of his life just because he had a quirk, not to mention the discrimination against those that didn't have one.

If he kept his promise to protect the oppressed, would anything really change?

Shinji realized that his dream was foolish, crime would still be at an all time high, and there would still be discrimination down the path he was heading into.

To really make an impact and save as many lives as possible there had to be a collective change in how society worked.

He would have to change how everyone viewed quirks as a whole.

To limit any type of criminality for years to come, he would have to become a threat to every criminal in the city.

They would need to think ten times about the pros and cons before committing any type of crime.

The problem that Shinji saw with this, is that it was almost impossible to achieve all of this alone.

There was no way that he could be everywhere at once. He needed some help to achieve his goals.

Crimes needed to be solved faster than they appeared for this to work.

Doing this alone would be like a single fireman trying to extinguish the raging fire of a skyscraper with a hose, simply impossible.

The problem now was where to start.

Shinji was an intelligent individual for his age, but he was still only twelve years old. He still had many things to learn.

He had no idea what to do to even get close to achieving his goals. The process in which he would achieve this was unknown.

The only thing that Shinji thought about doing now was wait for night to come and do some vigilante work to gain some skills.

Shinji then felt his quirk reacting to his desires.

At least he knew that the monster inside of him would always be there for him when he needed him most. He would be there for the good times and the bad ones.

All he hoped is that at the end of this path there would be a brighter future for everyone, including himself.

Shinji closed his eyes and thought about the process on how to achieve his goal.

Nothing came to mind for now, but Shinji knew that when night time arrived, he would definitely have an answer to his questions.

————

Hours later, Shinji's first thought after finishing meditating was how hungry he was.

He hadn't eaten anything for the whole day and was already thinking about stealing some food.

'A human was definitely not designed to be without food for long periods of time.' Shinji thought before standing up worriedly.

He knew that he would have to eat something to survive.

'I'll just eat something after I'm done for the night.' It was already night time. Shinji knew what had to be done.

He stood up from the ground and stretched his tight muscles.

Shinji had decided that he would change this city. And the starting point was right now.
