MHA Dungeon Master

Chapter 23: Toga Himiko

Eventually, Mouri-san accepted our commission after seeing the down payment we offered. His reaction clearly showed that the amount we presented was more than enough to capture his interest.

His smile spread so wide that, for a moment, I imagined the shadow of Kogoro Mouri appearing behind him. That smile seemed to indicate just how enthusiastic he was about the work he would do for us.

I hoped his professionalism was far different from the Kogoro Mouri I knew. After all, he also bore the name Shinichi, so I had high expectations for his work. The Shinichi I knew was a great detective who had solved many cases. Entrusting this case to him, someone with the same name, was a gamble I hoped would pay off. I looked forward to the surprises he might bring.

Five days passed quickly. At exactly eight o'clock in the evening, Mr. Mouri visited our residence. The house felt quiet at the time, as we had just finished dinner. He arrived with the results of his investigation from the past five days, handing it to me with full confidence.

His facial expression radiated confidence that he had completed his task well and flawlessly. There was a hint of pride in his eyes, as if awaiting praise for his hard work.

"Please review my investigation results, Himaru-kun!" he exclaimed with a voice full of confidence and pride in his work, while handing over the neatly bound investigation report. A touch of professionalism was clearly evident from him, from his attire to his body language.

Upon receiving the report, I immediately read it carefully, examining every detail of the information he had gathered. Page by page I turned, my eyes dancing over the lines of tightly packed sentences full of facts and analyses. Thankfully, the detective skills he demonstrated truly reflected the name Shinichi, not Mouri. The high quality of his work made me feel relieved and satisfied.

Gratitude and satisfaction enveloped me as I realized that I had entrusted this commission to the right person. Assigning this task to a professional who truly understood what they were doing was the right move. This decision was a valuable investment that yielded good results. I nodded inwardly, praising my instinct that turned out not to be wrong.

In the report, I saw many names unfamiliar to me, yet they had various quirks with vampire-like characteristics. The list included individuals with diverse abilities associated with vampiric traits, from the most common to the rarer and unique ones. Each name was accompanied by a small note about their unique abilities, as if Mr. Mouri wanted to ensure I could understand their information better.

The report provided detailed information about each individual, facilitating further searches. Each page included photos, addresses, and brief behavior notes, like a complete profile of these mysterious individuals. The tidiness and completeness of this report once again proved Mr. Mouri's professionalism.

However, what caught my attention the most was the information about two people who were famous villains in the original series. My heart raced when I read their names.

The information about them was not only relevant but also provided deeper context about recent events involving them. Mr. Mouri did not merely provide raw information, but also deep analysis and correlations, proving that he truly dug to the roots of the information. I smiled in admiration of his dedication.

Toga Himiko is currently an elementary school student like me, living in the city of Hanazono. (This place is fictional, so don't search for it on the internet) She is very friendly to her classmates and always shows a smile in all her actions.

This description felt very contrasting to the image of Toga Himiko I had known. Although her appearance seemed ordinary and cheerful, there seemed to be something deeper within her that needed to be noted. There was a mysterious aura hidden behind her smile, like a time bomb ready to explode at any moment.

Bubaigawara Jin is currently unemployed and lives in a dilapidated apartment in the city of Kumohara. (This place is fictional, so don't search for it on the internet) His appearance shows that he is under heavy mental pressure. The condition of his shabby and disorganized apartment reflects the chaos in his soul. This information made me feel compassionate and more motivated to help him.

His current environment reflects his difficult living conditions, indicating that he is at the lowest point in his life. Maybe this is the right time to approach him and offer assistance.

However, it seems Bubaigawara Jin has not fully become a high-profile villain. This is very good information because I feel I can help him get through this dark time and make him part of my team. There is a glimmer of hope to save his soul from darkness. I believe with my help, he can change into a better person.

The belief that I can provide help and guide him to a better path comes from my stable financial condition, thanks to the game I created with Emilia and the rising economy since my family's restaurant introduced a new menu that is very popular. The success of my family's business is a solid foundation to realize my plan.

"I am very satisfied with your investigation results, Mr. Mouri! I hope we can work together again in the future," I said to Mouri Shinichi with joy, extending my hand to shake his. The expression of joy and satisfaction on my face reflected my gratitude for his efforts. Our handshake was a symbol of agreement and the beginning of a mutually beneficial working relationship.

Then I transferred the remaining commission payment with my smartphone right in front of him so he could immediately check if the transaction had entered his account. This process was done quickly and efficiently, ensuring that all financial obligations were met without any doubt. I always strive to be transparent and professional in financial matters.

The next day, on a bright Sunday, Emilia, Ryuko-nee, and I went together to Hanazono city to meet our target, Toga Himiko. The fresh morning air and the vast blue sky seemed to support our mission for the day.

The weather was perfect, igniting our enthusiasm to execute our plan. We chose to take the tram together as it was cheaper and faster, allowing me to visit various target locations today. The vibration and rumble of the tram on the tracks seemed to accompany our steps toward a new adventure. Traveling by tram made our journey more efficient and time-saving.

Aside from Toga Himiko, I planned to visit many other locations today while enjoying a little vacation with Emilia and Ryuko-nee. I wanted to take this opportunity to relax and bond with them.

This plan was not just about completing the mission but also about enjoying time together and exploring new places. It was a golden opportunity to combine duty and pleasure. This trip was a form of self-appreciation for all the hard work I've put in so far.

As for Bubaigawara Jin, I wouldn't be meeting him directly since I had entrusted this task to my father to employ Bubaigawara Jin at our restaurant, considering his Quirk 'Double' would be very useful there. My father believed that Bubaigawara Jin's unique ability would be highly beneficial for the restaurant's operations. My father always had a sharp business instinct and was good at spotting hidden potential.

Once my father successfully recruited him to work at the restaurant, I could meet him whenever I had some free time. This arrangement made everything more flexible and facilitated our meetings in the future. I could build a good relationship with him gradually while monitoring his progress.

After we got out of the subway station and strolled around the city, Ryuko-nee asked me curiously. Hanazono city welcomed us with its characteristic hustle and bustle, the streets filled with people enjoying their weekend.

"Himaru, what's your plan to meet Toga Himiko?" Ryuko-nee asked, her voice full of curiosity. Her beautiful eyes looked at me expectantly, waiting for my answer.

Emilia, equally curious, shifted her attention to me from observing the city surroundings. She listened intently, eager to know how I would execute my plan. Her expression was as stoic as usual, but I knew beneath it lay a great deal of curiosity.

"I don't have a specific plan. According to the information gathered by Mr. Mouri, Toga Himiko plays with her friends every Sunday at the park near her house," I replied confidently. I took a deep breath, adjusting my tone to sound calm and reassuring.

"So I'll try my luck by visiting the park first. If she's there, then it will be easy. I'll just casually introduce myself to her and her friends so that I can shake hands and make physical contact," I continued calmly. A slight smile curved on my lips as I imagined my simple plan working out.

"A very simple plan," Emilia commented sarcastically, making me smile wryly. Her sarcastic tone had become a daily thing for me.

I simply ignored her, having grown accustomed to her sarcasm after living together for several months. Such sarcasm had become part of our daily life, and I didn't take it too seriously. I knew behind her sarcasm, Emilia actually cared and supported me.

After walking for about half an hour, we finally arrived at the park mentioned in Mr. Mouri's investigation report. The park welcomed us with its vast green lawns and shady trees lining the paths.

The park was full of greenery and blooming flowers, creating a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. The fragrant aroma of flowers and the cheerful chirping of birds added a natural and calming impression. We took a moment to enjoy the park's beauty before continuing our search. The fresh air and beautiful scenery of the park seemed to recharge our energy before starting the mission.

Fortunately, I saw my target for the day playing with her friends not far from the park entrance. They seemed so cheerful, laughing and having fun without a care. This sight made my heart a little touched.

Toga Himiko, a girl my age with light dirty blonde hair and golden-yellow eyes, caught my attention with her fangs that looked like a vampire's when she laughed with her friends. She appeared so agile and active, as if she had no burden on her shoulders.

Toga Himiko is quite a complex character in the original series. In the series, she is depicted as someone full of contradictions and mysteries. Her dark past and unique quirk made her a difficult character to understand.

From what I gathered from the original series, although she had killed many people, it was due to excessive stress from various factors, including her parents' misunderstandings and the side effects of her quirk that made her obsessed with blood. Childhood trauma and social pressure had shaped her unique and extreme personality. This made her a complex character with many layers.

However, now she was just a little girl, always showing a friendly smile to her friends. The world of villains and violence seemed far from her reach.

Yet, I wasn't sure if she had started acting to hide what she really wanted. Although she seemed happy, there was a high possibility that she was hiding something behind her smile. My detective intuition told me that there was darkness hidden behind her cheerfulness.

I approached her and her friends and took the initiative to introduce myself. My steps were steady, and my smile was wide, trying to make a good first impression. I regulated my breathing, ensuring my voice sounded friendly and non-threatening.

"Hello everyone, good morning. My name is Yūsha Himaru, and I just arrived in this city for a walk. May I get to know all of you?" I asked with a warm smile, extending my hand towards Toga Himiko. I looked into her eyes with a friendly gaze, hoping she would accept my handshake.
