Chapter 27: USJ Arc (2)

~Ren Y. POV~

[U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Japan]

Making our way to class Aizawa comes into the classroom with his usual dead look in his eyes as he asks us in a tired tone, "So have you decided on who and how you will choose your class rep?"

I looked at him with a serious face and said in a serious tone eyeing him, "I suppose democracy is the way to go."

Most people, in the end, agreed. Then, the voting started when the results came in. With the results showing on the school board…

Ren Yuki: 16

Yaoyorozu Momo: 3

Katsuki Bakugo: 1

I did better than I thought. It was way better than I expected after my little display. I mean, I did know the secret to becoming a good leader. You just gotta act like you know what you are doing and create the illusion of competence.

Truly, my time watching and reading Overlord has come in handy. Thank you, Ainz-sama your wisdom is as vast as it is fucking lucky to see your misunderstanding spiral out of control.

I voted for Momo, so I assumed that she voted for me. But I know I voted for her I wonder who voted for her? Maybe Denki, since we lost the main pervert? I know for a fact Shoto voted for her.

But for Bakugo I can assume only he voted himself. Such a sad boy… Of course, he didn't take this lying down as he shouted, "Okay you idiots, who voted for him?"

Shinso replied withholding his annoyance not being picked but me after my display, "Did you honestly think that anyone would want your ass as class representative?"

Ida looked visibly frustrated but gave me a small smile as Aizawa-Sensei announced to the class in a tired tone, "Alright, the class rep is Ren Yuki, and the deputy is Momo Yaoyoruzo."

I got up from my desk and turned towards the rest of the class, as did Momo, facing the front of the class. I congratulated the girl, "Congratulations, Momo-san."

She turned to look at me as she responded a little bit disappointed in herself in a defeated tone, "Oh, thanks. I guess for you too?"

I continued to whisper to her delivering this information before winking at her in a calm tone, "Yeah, but I voted for you."

Momo looked at me, a bit surprised, before blushing a little bashfully and responding cutely, "You did? Th-Thanks… uh… Yuki-san."

Smirking at this, I turned towards the classroom and bowed in a shameless tone, continuing as I jokingly said, stunning them, "Thank you all for your confidence and trust in me. I will only abuse the power that was given to me for small and petty things. And naps. Especially the naps. But don't worry, I will be here for you if you need a hand. Because have no fear everything is going to be alright."

When I finished saying that the class simply nodded or clapped their hands together. But I did get a few laughs with my napping comment. I guess using All Might's phrase certainly helps.

However, my time training with my classmates and everyone did increase my levels much faster than I thought. But not enough to add a new Quirk into my arsenal… yet.

Still managing to level up in the rescue or combat practices helped me raise my level. I'm not wasting all my stat points since they are precious resources unless I need them in the future.

Status.

I smiled lightly seeing my stats. But this isn't enough for the future challenges ahead.

Although gazing at my classmate's levels, they began to level up themselves. Now, at least, the majority is either level 10 or higher after a few days of training in UA. The time will come if my planning succeeds or not…

[Next Day, U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Japan]

As the Class President Representative of Class 1-A, I was expected to show up much earlier than the other students with Toga arriving a bit later having not to deal with this coming early. Fortunately, I wasn't the only one as Momo, Tokoyami, and Shinso were also present, the latter two on morning duty.

Spotting me the moment I entered the classroom, Momo rose to her feet, smiling as she greeted me kindly, sharing her worries, "Good morning, Yuki-kun. Were you able to sleep well last night? I experienced some difficulty. I kept replaying the incident that transpired during lunch yesterday, plagued by the notion I could have handled things better…"

By the time she was finished speaking her smile had faded quite a bit, replaced by a pensive and slightly downcast expression as she sat back down. She then puts her head on the desk in a tired way.

Well, she probably had it worse than me since she has the nice person syndrome. When I arrived at her desk, I just crouched down as I responded in an upbeat tone, "You're too hard on yourself, Momo. We could've done better, which is why we have 3 years to learn this is the Hero Course, after all. We have time to improve, so don't worry too much."

Though she was momentarily taken aback by my response, a smile found its way to her face as she replied in a thankful tone, "You're right. I guess I just got a little ahead of myself. Thanks for opening my eyes with your advice, Yuki-san. I greatly appreciate it."

She had a faint smile on her face with a light blush as the boys around our class froze at the sight of me flirting with her being close. The ones pity me for striking out with Ochaco and Tsuyu, but I was the first to get their numbers and have a good relationship with the others.

The boys have shocked looks on their faces as if they are stuck in time, and the color has drained from their faces. The ones that go first are the ones to strive in this world, boys. I simply made the first moves.

With the people staring, I soon responded to Momo's advice on how to handle the news reporters in a casual tone, "Besides that, Momo, I think you try to act nice with the news reporters. With the way you answer their questions every time, try to act nice to them to not tire yourself out keeping a good relationship with them."

She giggled lightly as she spoke, giving me her impression of what she thought of me, remarking, surprising everyone in the classroom, "Hahaha… You certainly give off a dependable aura, Yuki-san. I would need to introduce you to my parents in the future, but I don't think they would oppose me dating you."

I blinked, staring at Momo as if she were some kind of strange creature, I asked in a confused tone with my eyebrow raised, "Are your parents super strict or something? Introducing me to them is usually something you'd do before marriage."

But to my utter surprise, she tilted her head to the side as she replied in an innocent tone, "But of course. Is there any meaning to dating a boy if you don't intend to marry them? It might seem a little early, but it never hurts to start preparing for the future in advance."

… what the fuck… wait right. This is Momo I'm talking about here.

The girl with a lack of common sense into her. But I simply smiled as I replied in a reasonable tone, "Oh? I didn't know but I think we should get to know each other before we meet your parents in the future. For now, we'll need to focus on our new task of being the Class Rep of 1-A becoming heroes."

Momo nodded her head agreeing as I successfully moved the subject aside. But soon we discussed ways to improve her Quirk or about the paperwork ahead of us being responsible for Class 1-A.

Eventually, time passed by quickly reaching 12:30 PM, starting hero class. Aizawa appeared as he revealed a card named 'RESCUE' on it, explaining in a stoic tone, "Now for today's basic hero training this time, All Might and two others will supervise. Preparing you for disaster relief from fires to floods is rescue training!!"

Everyone was bumped up with the news, with everyone talking to each other in silent whispers in excited tones – wait, two?

"Rescue, huh… sounds like another rough day."

"Right!"

"Come on, this is what being a hero's all about!! I'm pumped!!"

"I'll be right at home in a flood, ribbit."

However, Aizawa sent a glare at Ashido, Kirishima, Tsuyu, and Denki as he curtly responded in a stoic tone startling them, "Hey. I'm not done. It's up to each of you whether or not you wear your costumes. As some of them are ill-suited to this sort of activity. The training site is a bit remote so we'll be going by bus. That's all get ready."

Rescue training…. More like trouble. And make it double…

[U.A. High School, USJ, Japan]

After leaving the building we gathered close to the parking entrance all in our Hero Costumes…. Except Shinso still waiting for his to be complete with asked modifications he addressed so he wore his UA gym clothes.

It was then Momo approached me and began suggesting how I should act in a curious tone, leaning closer to me and whispering, "Hey, Yuki-san. Apologies for my rudeness, but wouldn't it be better if you oriented the class?"

I only smiled as I shrugged my shoulders, responding to Momo's question in a nonchalant tone, explaining myself, "It won't be necessary, Momo-san. You see, I've already investigated it and discovered that the bus possesses an open layout. But it's nice having you as a vice class rep to assist me in these matters. I don't have a lot of experience with this, so I hope that you can help me sometimes."

I said that while scratching the back of my head in embarrassment. It was true; I didn't have any experience being the class president in a Japanese school, but Momo just smiled lightly, reassuring me in a determined tone, "Congratulations on being the class rep I think you deserve this position, in my opinion."

I just blushed a bit embarrassed having such praise as I responded in a surprised tone about the number of people voting, "Actually, not only was I surprised that people voted for me. But I was also surprised that I got so many votes. I mean, that's crazy."

That was when Asui decided to take this time to intervene and said in a blunt tone with a light blush on her cheeks, "We all saw what you did in the cafeteria. It takes great courage and calm thinking to do this. You also showed that you are good at leadership. Plus… when you were saying all that stuff… you kind of looked like All Might."

I can't tell if she was genuine or if she said that with me being close to Momo, thanks to her prior words asserting herself to me. Adorable.

Kirishima decided that he also wanted to intervene and said in a confident tone, "YEAH! That was so cool back then how you kept a level head despite the students running around."

Yui, the ice queen of our class, gave a thumbs up with a light smile, saying, "Mm!"

When she says that, I can tell with my [Language Comprehension] that she's happy. Or if she eats her favorite tomatoes. Really, either one.

That was when suddenly out of nowhere I heard Aizawa's voice in a stoic tone yelling at all of us, "If you're done gawking at each other, it's time to get in and get moving."

I just looked to the side and saw him. Whoa, I didn't even see or hear him. Clearing my throat I answered, "Right Aizawa-sensei."

I looked back at Momo, and she just nodded. I then turn towards some of the other students as the bus arrives speaking loudly, "The bus is here so get in!"

Then as everyone gets seated, we move to an off-campus site. After a few minutes inside the bus, the students began to make small talk as Tsuyu seated beside me asked, "Hey, can I talk to you Ren, ribbit?"

I nodded my head as Tsuyu bluntly pointed out a fact, tilting her head and connecting the dots from the battle training with Ida and Bakugo, "That power of yours, I mean, did you copy All Might's Quirk?"

Hearing this, I explained myself as I managed to gain attention in a calm tone as I shrugged my shoulders, explaining, "Yes. As you guys know, my Quirk can copy and permanently keep said copy of the Quirk for me to use. And seeing All Might… welp you know the rest need I say more."

Todoroki began staring at me, not sure if that was a good or bad sign. Even Momo began listening to what I was saying along with Ochaco. Bakugo was probably ignoring me or at least attempting to, judging by his body language perking up.

Kirishima soon gulped as he voiced out everyone's thoughts about the power I wield in a nervous tone, gazing at me, "So… does it mean…. That you have the same power that All Might's Quirk…?"

Hearing this, I responded with a light lie in a calm tone, reliving my friend's worries about obtaining such power, "Ha! I wish it was that easy, though. But yes, I do possess a copy of All Might's Quirk, although it's not one I can use freely as I would've liked. After all, practice makes perfect. I doubt I'll master it in a year or more."

Aizawa couldn't help but stare and grunt at me because I copied his Quirk. Kirishima then raised his arm onward and activated his quirk in a disappointed tone, "Man, I bet it must be cool to have a powerful quirk like that. My hardening is super strong and can destroy bad guys in a fight, but it doesn't look that impressive."

Smiling I try to cheer up the guy as I relented that I had to train the Quirks I gained from scratch in a calm tone, "Maybe but at least you know how your Quirk works. Unlike me, though any I copy I must train by scratch meaning you have the experience advantage that I lack if I tried to copy you, Kirishima. And besides give yourself some credit your Quirk is going to be fit for a Pro."

He smiled seeing I tried to give him some words of encouragement as he pointed out another thing before becoming a hero he sighed, "Fit for a pro huh? You must think about popularity too, you know. You wanna talk about strong and cool? That'd be our classmates has Pro's Quirks are you, Todoroki, and Bakugo."

I noticed that Momo and Ida got annoyed that their names weren't listed as well. I would be annoyed, too, since Momo got through in recommendation, and Ida has a Hero Family backing him, having a higher chance of becoming a hero.

But at the mention of his last name, Bakugo finally paid attention Tsuyu said to me in a blunt tone, "Sure but Bakugo is always angry, unhinged. He'd never be popular."

Bakugo only proved Tsuyu's point of being brave by saying that in front of his face yelling out loud, "Graah!! What'd you say frog face?!"

She replied easily pointing at him, "See."

Yui nods her head, agreeing, fueling the fire to the wild Pomeranian, "Hush, problem, child."

Denki soon chimed in as I smirked, seeing the wild Pomeranian bark out loud at his remark in a sly tone, "We've only barely started socializing, and already you've made it abundantly clear to us the unpleasantness of your steamed turd of personality."

Standing up from his seat annoying Jiro Bakugo barked out loud, "Yeah, okay mister vocabulary how about I pound you?!"

I laughed at his phrasing only pissing off the wild Pomeranian as Momo uttered, "What a vulgar conversation!"

Ochaco meanwhile laughed at the scene occurring in front of her, "Hahahah! I think it's fun."

But then we soon arrived at our destination as Aizawa-Sensei spoke out loud, "We're here. Look sharp now…"

"Okay!!"

Welp… time to grind as they say. Or is it time to game on?
