Chapter 285: Chapter 285 : Dragon [1]
Sanji had left with Capone Bege without a fight. Yuta didn't stop him. Sanji had made the decision on his own. Even the Straw Hats tried much to stop him, but he didn't budge.
This was strange to be honest. Even Ace, who shouldn't care much about Sanji's decision—if anything, respected his decision—didn't like Sanji going and wished to stop him. Divided by blood but united by breed, there was no doubt both brothers were pieces of the same cloth. They do whatever they wished.
Yuta can't help but wonder what if Ace hadn't died in canon and was constantly getting stronger like Luffy and not relaxing under Whitebeard's banner. How strong both brothers would have been.
Ace wished to put some of his brothers in the Whitebeard Pirates to find out what's going on with this Vinsmoke family and Big Mom, only to find that he left his Den Den Mushi back at the boat. He had to go down again to get it.
If he knew what kind of mistake he made by leaving that Mushi behind...
On the other hand, Yuta knew it wasn't his place to drag him back. Whatever Capone whispered into Sanji's ear, it had changed everything. The crew had no choice now but to wait for Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats to arrive at Zou.
But the world wasn't going to wait in peace.
That evening, just as the sky began to turn orange with the setting sun and finally the Straw Hats were starting to stop sobbing or cursing, something happened.
Roar...
A deep and terrifying roar echoed across the island. It shook the air, the trees, and even the walls of the Mokomo Dukedom. Everyone inside froze. A chill ran down their spines. It wasn't just loud—it was filled with fury and danger.
"What the hell." Yuta jolted up from where he was sitting. He sneakily sneaked out to get a alone place to go through the One Piece Manga. He just read the Zou Arc again and now knew that the giant Elephant, Zunesha, was under attack by Jack in the canon.
But that's not happening now, so who's responsible for making chaos?
"Yuta..." came a shout. This was a cute rabbit girl whom Yuta met after coming here. Strangely enough, he only remembered her name because he just read it in the Manga. To be more exact, he cared to remember only after knowing that she's an important character.
"What's going on, Carrot? What was that? Was it the Elephant?" Yuta asked as he saw the girl rushing away from the forest where he was, toward a more open area and followed her as well.
"No... Zunesha doesn't sound like that. He hardly even makes any sound." Carrot shook her head and sped up. Hell, even Yuta knew that this wasn't the massively overgrown Elephant but something else. Elephants, no matter how big, weren't supposed to roar like that.
So he ran like a bitch, not in fear of course but in part worry and part annoyance towards whoever was causing this ruckus. And just as he was running, he felt it.
The ground beneath them tilted suddenly, throwing some people off balance. The very earth was shaking.
"What's going on?!" Chopper shouted, holding onto Brook to keep from falling.
Inuarashi's eyes widened. "Something's happening to Zunesha!"
"The Elephant? What could happen to him? Do... do you think that he's dying? Isn't he hundreds of years old? Could it be that he's having a heart attack?"
"Chopper, treat him. See what's wrong with him."
"How am I supposed to do that?!" the poor reindeer shouted back with white eyes and shark-like teeth manifesting.
Yuta on the side just ignored the shenanigans of these idiots. He learned the last time—if he wished to stay sane, then just ignore them.
"Ahhhh...." Suddenly a painful growl rang out. Yuta and others snapped their heads toward the sound only to see Momonosuke collapse to the ground, clutching his head. He screamed in pain.
"Momonosuke!" Raizo knelt beside him, panic in his voice.
"Who's that? Stop shouting!" Momonosuke cried.
"Who's shouting?" This made others confused even further.
"Chopper, forget about the Elephant, help Momonosuke first."
"Ahh... O-Okay." Chopper rushed at the little kid who was clutching at his head and blocking his ears.
Only Yuta knew that Chopper was useless here. He was just reading the Manga to know better that this was Zunesha talking with Momonosuke.
"But why?"
Then, another roar filled the sky—but this one was different. Deeper. Angrier. Like the first one he heard. This wasn't from the Elephant Zunesha, he was sure about it. Yuta's instincts, spider sense, screamed at him that this roar belonged to another creature entirely. Something dangerous.
And then they saw it.
High above in the clouds, something massive moved. Not as massive as Zunesha, perhaps the only things bigger than Zunesha were the Red Line. However, this thing in the clouds was massive nonetheless. A huge shadow passed over the dukedom, blocking the fading sunlight. Covered in blue scales. The body twisted in the air like a serpent.
"DRAGON....." Someone decided to take the role of Thorin Oakenshield to announce to the rest of the dwarves about the upcoming beast.
"DRAGON...." Now it looked like it was Chopper who was at the end of having a heart attack.
"We are all dead." Nami muttered, rivers rolling down her eyes already.
Even Maki was looking horrified at the giant flying snake up in the sky. She was strong, stronger than ever with Haki on her side. But even she couldn't help but doubt that she could take that thing on.
"Kaido." Only a few people in there knew the real identity of this dragon up in the sky. This was none other than one of the Four Emperors of the New World, king of the beasts and the strongest creature, Kaido the Beast.
"What in the world is he doing here…" He all but cursed to the heavens for throwing this curve ball at him.
Zunesha let out another painful cry, its great form shifting in discomfort. It was clear that the fucking dragon attacked the giant Elephant. But why?
"Jack..." And that's when it clicked inside Yuta's head.
"Damn that trouble maker, even after death he's causing trouble for everyone." Yuta once again cursed, knowing that this wasn't just Kaido spotting a big enough target to hit with his fire breath. Kaido was here for him.
The Minks rushed out of their homes, shouting and panicking. The entire kingdom was in chaos.
"Whitebeard's brat. Get out here. Let me see the face of the person who killed Jack before you die," shouted Kaido.
Yuta looked up, his fists clenched. "Everyone get out of here. Go! Go..."
Staying here in the open ground would just make them a target. They seriously need to get out of here. The only problem was where to?
