MHA : Hero Time

Chapter 6: Chapter 6 : Entrance Exam 3

As the UA entrance exam kicked off, Yuta wasted no time, immediately activating his 'Hero Time' and pushing One For All to 5%. In a flash, he dashed towards the robot-infested testing ground, his heart pounding with determination.

Within the first minute, Yuta strategically dismantled five robots with a combination of swift kicks, powerful punches, and well-timed manoeuvres.

Only by the time he was gone when Tenya came with his top speed, only to find destroyed parts of robots littered the ground.

They knew that someone had run out before them. Tenya thought that this person would surely be punished but instead, Present Mic didn't play by the rules.

"Run, there will be no one to say start to heroes," he says.

Whoever ran first, sure got a huge head start in the fight but what he was not expecting was that person to be this fast. But he didn't waste any more time. Seeing that more people were coming, he once again started to run.

At this time, Yuta scored more points but the clock was ticking for him as unlike others he didn't have unlimited access to his quirk and Yuta was acutely aware that his borrowed power had a time limit. With only 5 more minutes of Hero Time remaining, he needed to make every second count. As he surveyed the remaining robots, he spotted a cluster in the distance surrounding some examinees.

The idea was simple, find where he can get the most points and then by sheer power go and wreak havoc. Not only he will score points for killing that robot but also score rescue points by saving others.

Of course, he only went where he knew that the examiner needed help.

Without hesitation, Yuta raced toward the threat, weaving through the battlefield like a seasoned hero, nothing to do with his quirk but his martial art. He strategically engaged each robot, utilizing the enhanced strength and speed granted by One For All. His movements were deliberate, showcasing a remarkable understanding of his newfound abilities.

As Yuta continued to neutralize the robotic adversaries, his fellow examinees looked on in awe.

But he didn't have much time to talk with them. Every second was precious for him. Scoring as many points as possible was the top priority. He wouldn't been this stressed if only he had some more time, like around 15 minutes or 30 minutes. But 6 minutes is just too limiting.

But he knows that even 30 minutes is too little. For a full-time pro hero even having 8 hours of Hero time might be not enough. Or maybe it would be considering he won't be using his quirk all the time.

Whatever, the fact is that he needs more Hero Time is apparent.

With each passing minute, Yuta's Hero Time dwindled, but he pressed on, determined to leave a lasting impression. The remaining robots proved to be no match for his calculated approach and the raw power of One For All. Yuta tactically decided to at least save 30 seconds of his Hero time as a reserve.

It's a good practice he learned to do after at least having 5 minutes of Hero Time. It was already hard to train with such a limitation of his quirk but he still made a habit of saving a little bit of Hero time just in case to he ever had a life-and-death situation.

But he didn't worry, just by using 5 minutes and 30 seconds of his Hero Time, he was able to amass enough points that he could not only pass the exam but with a good score. It's just that he can't come first.

But he wasn't done yet. There are rescue points for some reason, this test was a 30-minute test. He still had a little around 20 minutes in his belt.

Now was the time to target all those one-pointers which he was avoiding before. Those are easy to destroy and even a quirkless person can do it like him. Not to mention, going for all those rescue points.

Huffing he thought of first catching his breath before moving.

The proctors and UA teachers observed Yuta's performance with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. The speed and precision with which he took down the robots were beyond what they had anticipated from a student.

On paper, Yuta was still a quirkless but he long knew that this would be an issue so he wrote a letter to UA about his suddenly awakened quirk.

Midoriya might not face any issues thanks to All Might being on his side, but Yuta has to take all of his steps carefully.

This is no longer just an anime. This is his reality now and anime logic won't save him .

Whispers of amazement circulated among the examiners, and some exchanged impressed glances.

Present among the proctors was Shota Aizawa, who raised an intrigued eyebrow as he monitored Yuta's every move. He noted the efficiency with which Yuta dispatched the robots and made a mental note to keep an eye on this unexpected contender.

Not exactly impressed by his quirk but more by how the kid handled it, he was clearly very well-trained in martial arts.

Meanwhile, All Might and Principal Nezu, who had been closely monitoring the exam, found their attention shifting towards Yuta.

He actually knew the boy, 10 months ago when he found his successor, this boy was also there.

Just like young Midoriya, this boy too moved to save young Bakugo. But before he could even talk with the young man, he ran away.

Others didn't care but All Might did considering how the young man saved young Bakugo. Only later does he learn that Young Yuta here is also a quirkless.

So it piques his interest when a letter from the very same boy arrives in UA about him not having a quirk on paper but actually possessing one as he found out in the last second.

While their focus momentarily shifted to Yuta, All Might and Nezu couldn't help but keep an eye on Izuku and Bakugo as well. The trio of Yuta, Izuku, and Bakugo had become a focal point of interest in the exam.

Well Izuku was only for All Might and Nezu.

As Yuta's Hero Time dwindled and the robots lay defeated around him, the proctors and teachers found themselves reevaluating their assumptions. They sure didn't know that Yuta could only use his quirk for a limited time. Everyone was confused about why the top-scoring student suddenly stopped.

But Nezu and All Might have their own thoughts. Yuta in his letter stated that his quirk was just recently found and he doesn't even know what his quirk is capable of.

So its quite understandable that he has no mastery over his quirk. And if that is the case then they have to comment on Yuta to score this well.

"That boy is doing much better than the one you are so invested in," Nezu looked at Yuta and pointed.

All Might nodded, but didn't say anything, in this case maybe both young Midoriya and Yuta were in the same boat. Both got their new quirks recently. He didn't doubt his successor at all. He believes that in time, Izuku Midoriya will be an excellent Hero.
