Chapter 33: XXXII: The Woman II

Raiden responded with another Psyshock, the telekinetic attack surging forward in an instant. The woman raised her blade-like arms, blocking the blow and skidding backward. She flipped mid-air with unnerving agility, landing effortlessly on her feet.

Her voice cracked as she repeated, over and over, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't want to do this. I didn't mean to!"

Her words were frantic, barely coherent. She seemed trapped in her own torment, her mind spiraling as she grunted and slashed at the ground with her bladed arms. Shards of wood and tiles flew in every direction.

Occasionally, her erratic swings struck the mangled remains on the floor, adding to the grotesque chaos.

"Sorry, sorry!" she screamed again before crouching low, her legs tensing like coiled springs. In a heartbeat, she launched herself at Raiden.

He barely dodged, flying upward to avoid her razor-sharp appendages. "Damn it, I should go and ask for reinforcements" he muttered under his breath. She was getting faster, and her relentless attacks left him no room to counter or getting away.

Raiden waved his hand, sending another Psyshock her way, but she deflected it with her blades and charged again. This time, she didn't falter. Her speed and precision were increasing by the second, forcing Raiden into a desperate game of evasion.

"Think, Raiden," he muttered to himself, his mind racing. He considered several high-power attacks—Ancient Power, Hyper Beam—but dismissed them. They were too destructive. Using them could collapse the building and cause even more casualties. Options like Swift were out too; any explosion in such a confined space could destabilize the structure.

He needed precision. He needed control.

"Calm Mind," he whispered, activating the ability that had become essential in moments like these. The technique sharpened his focus and amplified his telekinetic power, enhancing his long-range attacks without risking collateral damage.

With renewed clarity, Raiden flung two Confusion attacks at the woman. One struck her square in the face, but to his astonishment, she shrugged it off and kept coming. Her speed was now near impossible to counter, and Raiden found himself on the defensive again.

"I thought I was fast," he muttered, darting to avoid another swipe. She was closing the gap with every step, her movements growing more feral and unpredictable.

But Confusion was doing its job. The woman began to stumble, her attacks missing wildly as her focus faltered. Her movements grew erratic, her black eyes flickering as if struggling to track him.

Raiden seized the opportunity, launching a series of telekinetic strikes. Each attack sent her reeling, yet she kept rising, her body unyielding despite the damage. Blood trickled from fresh wounds, but her madness—remained intact.

Then she shifted tactics. Instead of focusing on Raiden, she began lashing out at everything around her. Her bladed arms tore through walls, support beams, and furniture, causing debris to rain down. The room trembled with each impact.

"Not good," Raiden muttered, his eyes darting around. If she brought the building down, there'd be no containing the damage. He needed to act—and fast.

Raiden hurled two Psyshock attacks at the woman. One was deflected by her blade-like arms, but the other struck her square in the chest, leaving a jagged wound. Yet, to his disbelief, it didn't slow her down. She moved as if she hadn't even noticed the injury.

"What's wrong with her?" Raiden muttered, his voice edged with frustration. He had hit her multiple times already, yet she kept coming, relentless and unyielding. "At this rate, she's going to end up dead."

That thought twisted uncomfortably in his mind. He wasn't here to kill. His purpose was to save lives, not take them—even the lives of those responsible for atrocities like this one. No matter how monstrous her actions had been, letting this fight end in death wasn't an option, he was going to be in deep trouble if she ended dead.

But she wasn't giving him any openings. Her attacks were unceasing, her stamina seemingly endless. "No one has infinite stamina… I think," he muttered under his breath.

Focusing, Raiden channeled his telekinesis inward, using it to amplify his own movements. He wrapped a controlled wave of energy around his body, boosting his agility bit by bit. It drained more energy than he liked, but it worked. His dodges became quicker, his maneuvers more precise.

The woman, meanwhile, continued her relentless assault, charging at him like an enraged bull. Her strikes were powerful and wild, each swing of her bladed arms tearing through the air with deadly force.

"Just stay still!" Raiden shouted, half in frustration, as he evaded yet another lunge. He twisted and turned, narrowly dodging each attack, until something unexpected clicked in his mind.

As he fine-tuned his telekinesis to improve his movement, he noticed something—his body was beginning to move on its own, almost instinctively. He wasn't consciously deciding where to step or how to dodge; his powers were guiding him.

A grin spread across his face. "Looks like I just learned a new trick," he said, letting the energy flow freely through him. He allowed his movements to synchronize with the psychic waves he emitted, his body operating on a level of efficiency he'd never achieved before.

Then, with a surge of understanding, he activated another ability

Agility.

A wave of psychic energy enveloped his body, refining his speed and motion to near perfection. His movements became fluid and effortless, and the energy expenditure dropped significantly.

"This is amazing," he murmured, his excitement growing. "The possibilities with these powers are endless."

Now, with more time and clarity to think, Raiden began analyzing the woman's behavior. She never dodged his attacks; she always blocked them, and she was following him around like a puppy, a killer one, I can just get away or she will follow me. That gave him an idea.

'If she's just going to block, I'll aim for the blades, and I need to get her out of here, the other heros could ear and came to help' he thought.

he knew the fight shouldn't continue here. The environment was already unstable, and another prolonged exchange could collapse the entire building

He leaped back, retreating momentarily to gather his energy. Channeling it into his palm. It needed to hit hard enough to disarm her, but not so overwhelming that it caused further destruction, so he only had one attack of those characterictics

Raiden maintained as much distance as possible from the woman, weaving between her relentless attacks. He raised his hand and shouted, "Psyshock!" The psychic strike connected with her blade-like arm, briefly staggering her, but it also grazed her torso—a blow he'd hoped to avoid. Before he could process the situation, her tail swung with ferocious speed, blindsiding him and sending him hurtling to the ground.

"where did that tail come from?" exclaimed Raiden as he flew.

He landed with a crash near the doorway he had entered through. Dazed, his eyes caught sight of the large spoon he was carrying earlier. He had picked it up out of curiosity, dismissing it as irrelevant. Now, he muttered to himself, "Well, I guess it's better than nothing."

Grabbing the oversized spoon, Raiden turned back toward the woman. She was already upon him, her unnatural movements closing the distance in a flash. Raiden reacted instinctively, firing another Psyshock to deflect her incoming strike.

The blast succeeded, but, just like before, her tail lashed out at him again.

This time, Raiden used his telekinesis to swing the spoon into the tail's path. The crude weapon intercepted the attack, but the tail's sheer power shattered it instantly. He grimaced as the fragments clattered to the floor.

"There goes that idea, I will make another later" he muttered, casting aside the broken handle.

"Seriously, what's going on with you?"

When the fight began, she had seemed like an ordinary, albeit transformed, woman with a peculiar quirk. But as it dragged on, her abilities grew more horrifying. First, her endurance became evident—no matter how many times he struck, she seemed unaffected. Now, her body was changing further, mutating into something monstrous.

Her spine began to protrude grotesquely, forming jagged ridges along her back. Her legs twisted and elongated, transforming into blade-like appendages.

The wounds she had sustained earlier vanished as if they had never been there. Even her tail wasn't spared from the changes; the fleshy whip hardened and sharpened, ending in a blade that gleamed menacingly.

Raiden's heart sank as he realized the full extent of the transformation. She was no longer just a threat; she was a monster, growing stronger and deadlier by the second.

"If I hold back now, I'm done for," he thought grimly.

Determined, he shifted his focus. He couldn't continue this fight inside the crumbling building. It was unstable, the walls groaning with every impact. If he wanted a chance to survive, he needed to move the battle elsewhere.

Scanning his surroundings, Raiden's eyes landed on a large window at the back of the room. With a plan forming, he made his move. He retreated toward the window, keeping his back to it as he feigned a defensive stance.

The woman charged at him, striking with all her might. Raiden activated Agility once more, pushing his speed to its limit. As her bladed arms slashed toward him, he dodged fluidly, slipping under her legs with a burst of telekinetic precision. In a blur of movement, he emerged behind her.

Raiden clasped his hands together, concentrating his energy in both palms. He had only a fraction of a second, but it was all he needed. Psychic power surged through him, crackling and glowing as he unleashed two simultaneous attacks.

From one hand, a wave of Confusion erupted, aiming to disorient her. From the other, a concentrated blast of Psyshock streaked forward, targeting her weakened defenses.

The room lit up with psychic energy as the combined force of the attacks struck their target.

The waves of psychic energy surged toward the woman, shattering the glass behind her with an earsplitting crash and hurling her backward, beyond the confines of the hotel and over the pools below.

She landed with a thunderous splash, her scream echoing through the air—not one of pain, but of fury.

The water roiled as her body struck the pool, ripples radiating outward in violent waves. Raiden followed immediately, hovering seven meters above the water, scanning for any sign of her next move.

In an instant, she lunged from the pool, launching herself at him with a speed and intensity that defied logic. Raiden's mind raced. What kind of ability is this? Her resilience was beyond anything he'd faced before, and her relentless assault left no room for a clear strategy. The entire battle had been a chaotic, exhausting mess.

Raiden was already feeling the toll of the day. Hours of rescuing civilians and now this—fighting an opponent who seemed to grow stronger with each passing moment. He'd drained much of his energy trying to avoid unnecessary destruction in the crumbling hotel, yet here he was, locked in a brutal contest where restraint seemed futile.

"I guess understanding doesn't matter right now," he muttered, his voice low but resolute. Without hesitation, he unleashed another dual attack, combining Psyshock and Confusion into a powerful strike.

The woman met it head-on, and the two became locked in a vicious battle of endurance. Raiden rained down psychic blasts, weaving through her retaliatory strikes with calculated precision, aiming to weaken her blade-like limbs.

Each blow he directed at her bladed arms chipped away at her defenses. The clash reverberated across the pool area, water splashing and steam rising as energy collided. Finally, Raiden heard the faint but satisfying sound he'd been waiting for—a subtle click.

Mega Punch.

With his fist glowing with raw energy, he struck the woman's right blade with devastating force. The impact shattered the blade clean off, sending fragments flying into the pool. Before she could recover, Raiden prepared his next move.

Mega Kick.

The charged strike collided with her tail, protecting him from the incoming attack but sending him plummeting to the ground. He landed on his feet, but the force of the impact cracked the concrete beneath him. He steadied himself, his sharp eyes scanning for her next move.

The woman rose from the pool once more, her movements increasingly erratic. She turned her gaze toward him, and for the first time, Raiden noticed something strange—her face.

What had once been the youthful visage of someone in their mid-twenties was now weathered and aged, as though years had passed in mere moments. She looked closer to fifty-five, and her body was warping even further. Her limbs twisted unnaturally, and her bladed arms seemed to grow sharper, more menacing.

There was no time to process it. She lunged at him again, her speed even greater than before. Raiden activated Agility, his reflexes heightening and he narrowly avoided her attack. Her left blade came dangerously close, slicing the air just inches from his chest, leaving a shallow cut that sliced his chest plate, his armor saved him just now.

Gritting his teeth, Raiden ascended again, gaining the advantage of height and distance. From above, he retaliated with two swift psychic blasts. The strikes connected, forcing her to stumble, but it was clear she wasn't slowing down.

Her resilience was relentless, and her attacks were growing more unpredictable.

Raiden knew he couldn't hold back any longer. This was a battle of endurance and raw power, and if he didn't end it soon, he might not get another chance, and for another part no one was coming.
