A green haired boy stood before a door that towered over him like a giant obstacle, his shaking hands nervously gripped the door handle.
His chest rising and falling with quick, shallow breaths. It felt like the weight of the moment was pressing down on him, as if the very air around the door was heavier.
However the door wasn't an obstacle, but to usher him into his new life as an upcoming hero, to be trained and nurtured to be one who serves the society.
This was it. The first step into the life he had dreamed of since he was a child—a life as a hero.
Letting out an exhale to calm his nerves, Midoriya's mind reeled back to his journey to UA. It had been more than ten months since he met All Might, trained and became his successor.
He had puked, cried, forced his way here, passing all obstacles as he barely passed the exams, but that didn't matter anymore.
He was here.
And he was still nervous.
His thoughts briefly flashed to Bakugo and the terrifying possibility of being in the same class.
Then there was that other boy from the entrance exam, the one with the glasses and terrifying appearance.
"I hope that scary guy and Kacchan isn't in the same class." He prayed, crossing his fingers.
The hallway stretched quiet and empty behind him, the silence amplifying the pounding of his heartbeat in his ears.
There was no going back now.
He tightened his grip on the handle, swallowing hard. One more breath. One more moment.
"So you're going to enter or not?" A voice called out, jolting him.
Midorya instinctively turned to the voice, "Sorry," he muttered, awkwardly scratching his head. "I'm just a bit nervous."
"It's all good, I mean I'm a bit nervous myself too." The voice replied. "Anyone would be nervous on their first day in UA."
Midoriya's eyes settled on the voice—a boy dressed in the uniform. His blazer, unbuttoned and open, unlike most students.
Evenly split hair of green and light blond.
Yellow eyes that gleamed with an intensity to pierce anything they landed on, yet his face carried a laid-back energy.
Ear piercing that glinted under the florescent light.
Midorya couldn't deny the figure before him was quite handsome, exuding a rebellious air like a certain blond boy.
"Y-yeah," Midoriya replied. "I'm Izuku Midoriya, since it looks like we'll be classmates".
He awkwardly stretched out his hand, his body still shaking slightly as anxiety had not fully left him.
"Nice to meet you Midoriya." The figure replied, shaking his hand. "Call me Azaria."
***
I glanced at the figure in front of me—green curly hair that matched with his eyes.
Freckles adorned on his face, adding to his plain but innocent look.
A poorly knotted fat tie that looked like a kite, matching with a pair of red sneakers.
A very big yellow bag filled with lots of things that surprisingly didnt make him slouch or have a bad posture.
I was standing face to face with the protagonist of MHA— Izuku Midoriya. I felt a slight rush of anger as I shook his hand.
This motherfucker was the reason why I'm here. If he had a good ending, I wouldn't have gotten here.
Although I'm not entirely sure of the heart attack, whether it came naturally or because I was angry about the last chapter.
Anyways, I was here and I won't lie about it, it feels weird shaking the hand of the main character of a story you read.
I mean, I watched the dude grow from the first chapter to the last. I could definitely say I'm familiar with him, knowing everything about him even his future.
But I couldn't deny the bitter truth, I wasn't a reader anymore. I was in the story as a character, this fiction is now my reality.
"Ah" I exhaled, withdrawing my hand. "So, wanna enter now or you would stay here?"
"O-oh...umm, let's enter. I'm ready."
My hand moved to the handle, gripping it slightly. The door towering above us looked like a guardian ready to kill intruders.
I won't lie, I did feel nervous at this moment.
I glanced at Midoriya, who had gripped his bag handle tightly. We both exchange glances and I nodded, opening the door slowly.
The place was calm, or could have been calm as the voices of two individuals echoed in the air.
"Remove your foot from that desk! Such action is insulting to those who came to UA before us as well as the craftsmen who made the desk!!"
"Like hell I care. What middle school are you from, you extra?"
I was greeted with the scene of two main characters arguing—Tenya Ida and Katsuki Bakugo. I glanced at Midoriya, who is surprised and a bit bummed that they're in the same class.
I glance around for an empty seat and walk to one just as Iida walks up to Midoriya and introduces himself.
I stopped at a seat by the window side, just in front of a boy with a split hair of red and white who paid no attention to what was happening in the class.
In a normal high school manga or anime, this is usually where the main character sits.
My mind reeled back to past events as I adjusted myself on the seat, AFO's chilling voice echoing in my brain.
You're going to be a spy for me at UA. That's why you underwent training, repay the debt you owe me for bestowing this quirk on you. Don't try anything funny, I'm watching you as your life and that of your parents are in my hands and the actions you take.
I exhaled, at the end of the day, I wasn't free just yet. Still a pawn controlled by him and I wasn't strong enough to defy him.
I glanced at Midoriya, who was cowering with a flushed face as a girl with shoulder-length auburn hair chatted with him.
It still feels weird, being in a class with all these people—these familiar faces. Even though I know that I'm a part of this world, it still feels surreal.
But since I'm here, I would have replaced someone but who?
I glanced around, trying to see the person I replaced.
Then I realised, I replaced one of the minor characters in UA—the sugar dude that gets strong with sugar fueling him.
I put my hands together and apologised for taking his spot even though he had little to no impact in the storyline.
"If you're here to socialise, then get out. " A voice said, pulling me out of my thoughts as its voice cut through the noise.
It belonged to a man with unkempt black hair, drooping eyes, and a scruffy beard. He wore a black jumpsuit that hugged his lanky frame and carried a yellow sleeping bag, which he emerged from.
"It took eight seconds for you to quiet down." He walked to the front of the class. "Time is quite precious. You lot aren't very rational, are you?"
"I'm Shouta Aizawa, your homeroom teacher. Pleased to meet you."
His flat tone and indifferent gaze swept across the class, causing the people talking to freeze mid-conversation, as they were stunned by his appearance.
If I didn't have any knowledge of the story, I would be shocked as well at the appearance of this man. He really looks homeless and the sleeping bag just adds to that.
Without wasting anytime, he brought out a uniform—dark blue trousers with subtle vertical stripes running up the sides, paired with a matching short-sleeve shirt.
The shirt prominently displayed the letters 'U' and 'A' from his sleeping bag.
"Quickly now." His tone quite sharp."Change into your uniform and head out to the grounds."
