The rules for the Cavalry Battle appeared on the stadium's massive screen as Midnight explained the mechanics to the students.

"Each team will consist of two to four members. Points are assigned based on the headbands each rider wears, with one special exception—the first-place contestant from the Obstacle Race will have a headband worth a whopping 10 million points!"

The crowd roared at the announcement, and everyone's eyes darted toward Izuku Midoriya, who had placed first.

"Teams must work together to protect their headbands while trying to steal others. The game lasts fifteen minutes. Use your quirks, strategy, and wits to outmaneuver your opponents! And remember, if your rider touches the ground, your team is eliminated!"

Kenji's mind raced as he considered the implications. Teams were being formed rapidly, and alliances began to take shape.

Kenji's Team Forms

Kenji knew the key to this event would be finding the right teammates—ones whose quirks complemented his own and who he could trust in the chaos of the battle. He approached Momo, whose analytical mind and versatile Quirk would be invaluable.

Momo nodded thoughtfully. "It's a sound plan. We just need to ensure we're not overwhelmed."

"That's where I come in," Tokoyami said, Dark Shadow extending menacingly.

"And me!" Kirishima added. "No one's knocking us down with me on the base!"

The Battle Begins

The signal to start blared, and the arena erupted into chaos. Teams dashed in every direction, headbands flying as quirks clashed.

Kenji's team held their ground, Tokoyami's Dark Shadow warding off attackers while Momo used her Creation Quirk to form barriers and nets to deter would-be thieves.

"Kenji, incoming on the left!" Momo warned.

Kenji glanced over to see a team led by Katsuki Bakugo barreling toward them, explosions sparking in his hands.

"Hold steady!" Kenji shouted.

As Bakugo launched himself into the air, Kenji activated Sunflare, releasing a blinding flash of light. Bakugo cursed as he veered off course, momentarily disoriented.

"That won't keep him down for long," Tokoyami said, Dark Shadow preparing for another attack.

"Doesn't need to," Kenji replied. "Let's move!"

Opportunistic Gains

As the battle raged on, Kenji's team focused on smaller skirmishes, snatching headbands from distracted teams and quickly retreating. Momo's quick thinking and creations proved invaluable; she crafted grappling hooks to snag headbands from a distance and shields to deflect attacks.

"Points check?" Kenji called out.

"About 600 points so far," Momo replied, glancing at their collection. "Not enough to secure the top spots, but we're holding steady."

"We'll strike in the last five minutes," Kenji said. "Until then, keep playing smart."

The Final Minutes

As the clock ticked down, Kenji's team found themselves near the center of the battlefield, where chaos reigned. Midoriya's team was under siege, every other team trying to claim the 10-million-point headband.

Kenji saw an opening. "Tokoyami, cover me! Momo, I need a distraction!"

Momo nodded, quickly crafting a smoke bomb. She hurled it toward the fray, obscuring the battlefield in a cloud of gray.

"Dark Shadow, push forward!" Tokoyami commanded, his Quirk creating a barrier of writhing shadows that cleared a path.

Kenji dashed through the smoke, his reflexes heightened as he snatched a high-value headband from an unsuspecting team.

"Got it!" he shouted, retreating to safety.

Kirishima laughed. "Nice grab, Kenji! That puts us in the top five!"

A Narrow Escape

The final seconds of the battle were pure chaos. Teams converged on Kenji's group, desperate to steal their points.

"Brace yourselves!" Kenji yelled as a team led by Shoto Todoroki launched an ice attack.

Momo quickly crafted a heat generator, using it to melt the ice before it could reach them. Tokoyami and Kirishima fended off attackers with Dark Shadow and sheer grit.

As the buzzer sounded, Kenji's team let out a collective sigh of relief. They had managed to hold onto their headbands, securing a spot in the next round.

Post-Battle Reflections

Back in the waiting area, Kenji leaned against the wall, catching his breath.

"That was intense," Kirishima said, wiping sweat from his brow. "But we pulled it off!"

"You all did great," Momo said, smiling. "It was a team effort."

Kenji nodded. "Couldn't have done it without you guys. Now we just need to keep this momentum going."
