Mira Rosemary’s adventure in Pokémon

Chapter 14: Chapter 13: Reflections at the Pokémon Center

Mira made her way back to the Pokémon Center as the sun started to set. The walk through Striaton City's quiet streets gave her time to reflect. The honorary ribbon pinned to her bag glimmered softly in the streetlights, and she couldn't help but smile. Snivy and Scout walked beside her, both looking tired but content, while Petilil nestled against her shoulder, his leaves brushing her cheek.

"You were all incredible today, especially you, Snivy," Mira said softly, her voice filled with pride. Her Pokémon chirped and barked in response.

The familiar warmth of the Pokémon Center greeted her as she stepped inside. Trainers were still in the lobby, chatting excitedly or tending to their Pokémon. Mira waved to Nurse Joy at the counter, who returned her gesture with a kind smile, before heading toward the row of computers near the back.

Settling into one of the booths, Mira pulled out her trainer ID and logged into the system. Moments later, the screen flickered to life, and her parents' familiar faces appeared.

"Mira!" her mom exclaimed, her smile radiant. "How did it go?"

Mira grinned, holding up the honorary ribbon. "We didn't win, but Snivy and I gave it our all. The judges loved our routine, and we even advanced to the battle round!"

"That's amazing!" her dad said, leaning closer to the screen. "Tell us everything. What was the contest like?"

Mira recounted the day in vivid detail, from the dazzling performances to her battle against Julian and his Chatot. She spoke of Eliza and Glameow, their new friendship, and how Eliza had inspired her to keep improving.

"Eliza mentioned something interesting," Mira added, her tone thoughtful. "Have you heard of Pokevision and Pokechirp?"

Mom nodded. "Those are from Kalos, right? They've been gaining popularity lately. Professors and Gym Leaders also use them to advertise new events or share important news."

"Exactly," Mira said. "I've been thinking about making accounts. It would be a great way to keep in touch with you and the friends I make along the way. Plus, who knows? Maybe I can find more information about Hisuian Pokémon there."

Dad's face lit up. "That's a fantastic idea. You're building connections, and these platforms could help you learn even more about your interests. Maybe we could buy you a C-Gear. It would make logging in and staying in touch easier, and you wouldn't have to rely on a Pokémon Center to contact us. Right, Lily?"

Mom nodded, her expression softening. "Edward is right, honey. We were actually thinking of buying you a C-Gear before you left, but you were so focused that we forgot. We'll send one to the next Pokémon Center you visit, so it'll be waiting for you there. Just remember, not everyone shares accurate information online, so stay critical, okay?"

Mira nodded, appreciating their encouragement and advice. "Thanks. I'm so grateful, and I'm sorry I've been so focused on starting my journey that I didn't think about keeping in touch. I promise, as soon as I get the C-Gear, I'll call you right away with the Xtransceiver."

After ending the call, Mira decided to set up her Pokevision and Pokechirp accounts before heading to the lounge. She brought up the registration pages for both platforms. After some thought, she chose a username inspired by her love of Grass Pokémon and Hisuian lore: "HisuianBloom." For her profile picture, she found an image of a Hisuian Lilligant on Pokenet, its elegant petals glowing softly in the artwork. Smiling at her choice, she finalized both accounts and immediately added Eliza as her first contact.

Snivy stretched lazily at her feet, while Scout gnawed happily on a chew toy Mira had picked up earlier. Petilil perched on the table, watching her write with curious eyes.

"This could be the start of something big," Mira said, looking at her team. "Not just for contests, but for learning more about who we are and what we can become."

Petilil chirped softly. Mira smiled and gently stroked his leaves.

As the evening stretched on, Mira felt a renewed sense of purpose. Before heading to bed, she decided to do something special for her team to celebrate their accomplishments. With Nurse Joy's permission, Mira borrowed the Pokémon Center's small kitchen and prepared a batch of Poké Puffs. She carefully crafted each one using berries she and her Pokémon had collected during their journey from her hometown to Accumula Town and onward to Striaton City. The trip to Accumula Town had taken four days, during which she had spent time exploring quiet trails and enjoying her first outdoor camping experience. There she had been lucky to find a discounted large berry container, perfect for storing the various berries they found along the way. The three days on Route 2 were filled with further exploration, gathering ripe berries while bonding as a team. The result was a tray of colorful, aromatic treats designed to suit the tastes of each Pokémon.

Snivy received a light and refreshing puff with a hint of mint, Scout a hearty one infused with spicy flavors, and Petilil a sweet puff topped with a drizzle of honey. Back in the lounge, Mira presented the treats to her team. "Here you go, everyone. You've earned this," she said warmly. The Pokémon eagerly enjoyed their snacks, Snivy letting out an elegant chirp of approval, Scout wagging his tail enthusiastically, and Petilil emitting a soft trill of happiness.

Afterward, Mira took time to groom each of them. Scout, already accustomed to the brush, leaned into her touch as his coat gleamed even more. Petilil, initially hesitant, relaxed as Mira gently wiped his leaves with a damp cloth and ensured they were free of dust. When Mira approached Snivy, the Grass Pokémon hesitated but ultimately allowed her trainer to adjust the floral necklace she wore and brush away small specks from her smooth scales.

"You all look amazing," Mira said, admiring her team. Petilil chirped softly, Snivy nodded with a graceful flick of her tail, and Scout barked in agreement.

Mira wasn't just on a journey to explore the world; she was building connections, sharing her story, and learning more about the endless possibilities that lay ahead. She imagined her parents' pride when she'd call again to show them what she had accomplished and her growing list of friends and discoveries.

With a final glance at her honorary ribbon, she went to sleep surrounded by her Pokémon.
