Miracle Summoner

Chapter 2427: -2327- The answer to everything

Reaching the Root would mean attaining omniscience and omnipotence in this world.

Because the Root is the origin of all things—and the end of all things. It holds the records of everything in existence.

To reach it is to attain omniscience and omnipotence, capable of doing anything. That is why Magi devote their entire lives to reaching it.

However, Rozen had not reached the location of the Root. He had merely connected, through the Miracle, to the supreme existence across countless worlds—and only then was he able to create Magic.

If Rozen had truly reached the Root, he would have long since gained the ability to act freely and without restraint in this world.

That said, Rozen didn't feel regretful even though he hadn't reached the Root.

After all, what he had always pursued were Miracles and Mysteries. While curious about the Root, he had never been obsessed with it. Moreover, with his Mind's Eye having reached a perfected realm, allowing him to glimpse the very records of the world and comprehend all knowledge, he had no real need to step into the Root directly.

If he truly desired it, then once he completed his development of Foreign Mana and could wield the power of Miracles at will, he could open the gate to the Root and step into the realm beyond the world at any time.

In other words, for Rozen, reaching the Root was just a matter of time—so why bother feeling any regret?

Rozen didn't explain much more. He merely told everyone:

"I have indeed mastered Magic, but it's precisely because I sought to master it that my Magic Circuits turned out the way they are now."

Those words stunned the Chaldeans.

And then, they finally understood.

"I see… So your abnormal Magic Circuits are a result of having completed Magic, huh?"

Da Vinci realized aloud.

"No wonder—considering the scale of your Magic Circuits, it's strange they'd show such strain. But if that's the price of touching Magic, then it does make sense."

Roman sighed, a bit helplessly.

"This kind of cost is nothing compared to obtaining the key to the Root!"

Olga Marie was clearly feeling emotionally unbalanced.

Throughout history, countless Magi had sacrificed everything to reach the Root and complete a Magic—only to end in failure.

For Rozen to achieve it and pay only this much—indeed, it seemed insignificant.

After that, the Chaldeans asked many questions about Rozen's Magic.

Especially Olga Marie and Da Vinci—not only were they both Magi, but one carried the hopes of her ancient family, while the other was a peerless genius interested in everything. Now, with a living Magician standing before them, it was impossible not to want answers.

Before the Incineration of Humanity, only four Magicians existed in the world, and all were elusive—so much so that not even their shadows could be seen.

That Rozen, a living Magician, now stood before them naturally ignited the curiosity and fervor of Olga Marie and Da Vinci.

Even Roman asked Rozen what kind of Magic he possessed.

But Rozen didn't explain much.

He couldn't very well tell them that his Magic was the true embodiment of omniscience and omnipotence, capable of doing absolutely anything—even rewriting the laws of the world.

That would only raise more questions and cause more trouble. So Rozen said nothing and let them speculate.

There was, however, one thing he did state plainly.

"Don't assume that having Magic means I can do whatever I want. I'm not in peak condition right now. Even if I can use Magic, I can only access a tiny fraction of its power—barely one part in a hundred million. Unless I throw everything away, I can't wield its full might. So don't think just because I'm a Magician, this Singularity is as good as fixed."

That one sentence dumped a bucket of cold water on the Chaldeans, who had been getting far too excited.

They had likely been thinking that since Rozen was now a Magician, the repair of the Seventh Singularity would be no problem.

Unfortunately, that was wishful thinking.

This was, after all, the most dangerous and difficult Singularity they had encountered to date. Even at full strength, Rozen wasn't entirely confident he could resolve it—let alone in his current condition.

Ever since arriving at this Singularity, Rozen had sensed something was off.

This feeling stemmed from a reaction in his Mind's Eye.

Through its constant refinement, Rozen's mind had gradually become capable of enduring the burden imposed by the perfected Mind's Eye—allowing him to glimpse the mysteries of the world and perceive aspects of the past, present, and future.

And under those circumstances, for some reason, whenever he used his Mind's Eye to observe this Singularity, he always caught faint, inexplicable phenomena.

For instance, ever since he arrived here, Rozen had felt as though, on the far side of Mesopotamia, there echoed the sounds of crying—and occasionally, the sound of flowing water.

Rozen didn't know what that was.

But he did know this: the source of those sounds was definitely not something good.

Perhaps...

"Behind this so-called Three Goddess Alliance, something else exists."

Could it be the work of Solomon the Mage King?

Or perhaps it was that terrifying Great Demon that Rhongomyniad had once mentioned—something even more frightening than Solomon himself?

Whatever the case, Rozen knew this was something he had to take seriously.

More than the three goddesses themselves, this unknown anomaly demanded his full caution.

If the enemies were just the goddesses, Altera's power would be enough to deal with them.

But that hidden presence—that was the real threat.

Rozen did not share this with Chaldea.

After all, in this Age of Gods, Chaldea's support would be at its weakest due to the presence of True Ether and the vast gap in time. Even attempting to scan the far reaches of Mesopotamia would be impossible.

So Rozen chose to stay silent, to avoid spreading needless anxiety.

For now, what Rozen needed to do was twofold: continue investigating the Holy Grail, and keep an eye on this disturbing presence to see if he could learn anything more. Only then would he deal with the Three Goddess Alliance.

And if possible, Rozen also had other things he wanted to pursue.

For example: uncovering the truth about Altera's identity.

And there were other matters he wished to understand—things he needed answers to.

And on that front, Gilgamesh seemed to already know something. Even Merlin gave off the same impression.

Merlin acted like he was just a playful and frivolous Magus, but while Rozen looked down on his antics, he never truly underestimated the man who possessed the qualifications of a Grand Caster.

Rozen had a hunch—

"Everything I want to know will be answered within this Singularity."

With that in mind, Rozen had long made up his mind.

"Let's rest for today."

Starting tomorrow, things were likely to get busy.

Let me know if you'd like this smoothed out for use in a polished narrative or if you'd like to proceed to the next section.
