Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 113: Cultivation of Young Dragons_3

The palm slightly raised, and the ice mist floating in the air quickly condensed, finally forming a flawless transparent ice sphere in the palm.

Holding this ice sphere, she placed it in front of the young dragon, then Tilan released her fingers, and the Cold-Scale Young Dragon swallowed the purely Magic Power-condensed ice sphere in one gulp.

"After this, just hold it and slowly absorb," the girl patted the young dragon's head and then let it return to the underwater to rest.

Leaving the underground hall, she closed the door again and then headed to the place where the maids rested.

"Lady Tilan," the maid who had seen the girl before stood up as she approached.

The girl nodded slightly, then her gaze turned to the hall displaying rows of stone coffins; about 130 stone coffins were placed here, with about a quarter currently containing sleeping Blood Clan.

Walking ahead, the maid held a lantern to lead the way for the girl.

"What's your name?" There were too many maids in the mansion, sometimes Tilan couldn't remember clearly.

"My name is Shayla, Lady Tilan," she said her name.

"How many maids are currently at the Same Rank Blood Pupil Sequence 6 with you?" Tilan was curious.

"Including me, there are 12 people in total. Lady Ran Bei'er is the only Blood Pupil Sequence 7, currently sleeping."

"High Sequence Blood Clan spend more time in sleep. Among the active maids in the mansion, only 5 are Sequence 6; others of Same Rank are in slumber."

"So, among these 5 people, besides you, there are only 4 who are Sequence 6 in daily life above, right?"

"That's correct, but our Blood Clan, due to our physique and the Sequence we cultivate, have significantly stronger combat capabilities than those of the Same Rank, so you don't need to worry, Lady Tilan."

"Among the rest, besides about 30 newly initiated companions, the others are at the Blood Pupil Sequence 5 level." She continued to add.

"Hmm, I see." Tilan walked past each stone coffin, occasionally placing her hand gently on the sealed stone coffins, feeling the state of the sleeping maids inside.

Although the Blood Clan is powerful, the drawbacks are also evident. No wonder their numbers have always been small over the years and haven't become a strong force. On one hand, it's due to the relation between bloodline and physique being rejected by major mainstream forces; on the other, frequent slumber prevents them from maintaining certain key positions, relegating them to assistive roles such as scholars, artists, researchers, combat categories, etc. If it's a crucial leadership position, regular replacements are needed.

"Are your existence known to many forces or major corporations?" Tilan was quite curious.

"Well... probably not many." Shayla shook her head.

"In the early days of the Federation, our identity was quite awkward; although not belonging to the 'Black Sun' subordinate Newborn Races, we were a significantly modified and specialized species, very different from mainstream groups."

"At that time, due to the war in the Fifth Epoch, major mainstream forces harbored strong rejection towards us 'abnormal' ones, often leading to bloody incidents."

"To avoid disaster, the Blood Clan back then had to hide their names, each itting scattered amongst the crowd, disguised even if possessing special abilities, and due to the peculiarity of physique, had to find sparsely populated areas to settle, thus reducing the likelihood of being discovered."

"Our branch, upon meeting you, had quietly thrived for hundreds of years in the Jade Skirt, gradually growing to nearly two hundred kin. If in other Star Domain, perhaps a large tribe might only consist of a dozen individuals, any more would greatly increase exposure risk."

"Does the Court of Judgment still capture you?" Tilan pondered, as the Federation seemed not to have laws specifically targeting the Blood Clan.

"They wouldn't specifically capture us, but if they invoke the '異種安全法例' (Variant Security Law), they could easily find reasons to arrest us, thus we exist in a neither black nor white gray area."

"However, with your protection and guarantee, those in the Court of Judgment wouldn't target us."

In fact, currently, as long as the maids don't leave the mansion's premises, hardly anyone would come looking for trouble, and following the Songstress, if her future influence expands, the Blood Clan as frequently appearing attendants will slowly improve their image among the populace, becoming more accepted.

After all, in the Sixth Era, the Blood Clan is fairly well-behaved, and the historical True Red Empire has contributed to humankind, often featured in many films and shows, making it relatively easy to change perceptions.

After listening to Shayla's description, Tilan indicated her understanding.

"Take it slowly, though I don't know how other Blood Clan are within the Federation, but while you're with me, I'll protect you well."

The trauma from that war is indeed deeply impactful.

The girl stopped walking and looked at the painting on the distant wall; it depicts the end of the Fifth Epoch when Isenisha led various races against the '漆黑太陽's (Black Suns).

The whole painting's tone is gloomy, only Isenisha's standing position resembles a faint golden light spreading, radiating around and behind, with historical great men standing behind her one by one, and in the remote sky, fiercely burning black sun.

Even now, both inside and outside the Federation, traces from that segment of history remain.
