Chapter 122 The Fall of the Giant Dragon_2
Using the brief moment of chaos on the battlefield, a member with dragon-slaying Divine Protection rushed out from the steaming mist, with a longsword ablaze with pale blue flames. As they approached the Giant Dragon, they stabbed with force, and the sword and the Sword Edge were instantly covered in a layer of red light, piercing the Dragon's sturdy White Crystal scales and entering its internal body.
In less than half a minute, roughly 40 longswords were embedded into the Giant Dragon's body, causing the White Crystal Dragon to roar towards the sky.
Inside the translucent body of the White Crystal Dragon, the red glow carried by those swords flowed like blood, gradually spreading throughout the Dragon's body. As these symbols of curse and poison filled the Dragon, it became increasingly violent, as if the toxins were destroying its nerves and consciousness.
Inside the airship, Ores held her forehead, waves of sharp pain continuously emanating from the depths of her mind, due to her maintaining a connection to the Dragon's consciousness.
"Oh no..." she spoke in a voice filled with pain.
As a Songstress, she certainly understood what this was, yet she hadn't expected to see it today. Since humanity's rise, Dragons had become less of a threat, thus blades and Secret Techniques targeting Dragon Species were rare.
Unexpectedly, Blanchi found this ancient poem from the Third Era, and recited it for the first time to use it. Even if Ores performed the same large-scale Divine Protection, she would have had to prepare for days to ensure nothing went wrong on site.
However, realizing this now was of little use. As the Dragon's pain grew, flying chaotically in the sky, Ores had to sever their consciousness connection, letting the final restraint in the White Crystal Dragon's mind vanish, causing it to plummet from the sky, crashing into the ground, shattering various trees and stones along the way, and then struggling for a few minutes before finally dying slowly.
Perhaps this was the first Dragon in the Sixth Era to die under the Song of Dragon-Slaying.
The fall of the White Crystal Dragon enraged the Elves under Ores' command, and they sped out from the airship like streaming light, their silver-cold Sword Edges slicing through the air, targeting the exhausted followers.
The followers who had exhausted themselves using Guardian Secret Method were easily defeated, their ranks being pierced one by one by the gleaming Silver Ice Sword, hunted from sky to earth.
Minutes later, having cleared the followers outside the stronghold, the Elves in silver-blue uniforms rushed inside, cutting down various Autonomous Units in their path, continually breaking through defenses until finding Blanchi protected within the safe room.
Blanchi was still unconscious and asleep, with only four Maids watching over.
After a fierce battle, the four Maids were pierced by Ice Swords, pinned to the nearby walls, while the Elves surrounded Blanchi.
Although anger burned within them, they did not act against the rules. Nevertheless, this scene was cruel, leaving Maids witnessing their Songstress being defenselessly handled by the enemy.
Temporarily suppressing their emotions, one Elf slowly approached Blanchi, kneeling on one knee, lifting her wrist, and a shallow mark grazed across her wrist.
[Songstress Blanchi failed due to close contact attack by other Star Cluster members]
Thus, another Songstress exited the stage.
...
"Blanchi was defeated by Ores." On the high mountain peak, Prin sat on a rock with a deep red Short Cloak draped over her, gazing at the information on the projection screen.
Beside her, several members in Red Garments stood, their figures shrouded under wide cloaks, appearing mysterious and imposing.
"Blanchi is a newly promoted Songstress, the weakest in strength, such a defeat is not surprising." Responded one member.
"No, you didn't see the detailed process." Prin swiped the screen, projecting an image.
In the image, the strong Sequence 7 Dragon wailed as it fell from the sky, its entire White Crystal body permeated with terrifying strands of red.
"Though Blanchi lost, she also took away Ores' strongest trump card, which makes me truly grateful to her." Prin smiled as she spoke.
"Despite the large points gained from defeating a Songstress, it cannot compensate for the loss of the White Crystal Dragon; Ores must regret not taking down Blanchi first." Prin remarked.
"In the end, they're too gentle, like flowers never experiencing storm, too naive and innocent."
"You've often said Tilan is too gentle, does she have similar issues?" another member wondered.
"No, no, though I describe her this way, I never think Tilan would make mistakes on critical matters; you probably don't know the environment in which she grew up. At times, her ruthlessness even makes me a bit fearful."
"What I dislike is, though she can perceive all kinds of issues and has the Ability, she constantly restrains herself, trying to solve problems without harming anyone."
"She, unless forced to the brink, will not let go of this insistence."
"I, too, only gradually understood her thoughts and focus after learning about her growth experiences."
"Frankly, if one day I face a crisis unable to protect myself, you can certainly turn to Tilan. For my sake, she should take you in. Even if not heavily used, she won't heartlessly make you cannon fodder."
"Lord Prin, that's quite an unlucky talk." someone beside reminded.
"There's nothing unlucky about it. I know what I'm doing, and the current situation of the Federation." Prin tossed the terminal, jumping easily off the rock.
"Maybe stability can be maintained for another ten years, but certain conflicts will eventually be suppressed no longer. As Songstresses, the center figures of the storm, it's hard not to be involved; no one can guarantee the future scenario, maybe we'll win, or maybe we'll be reckoned with. Anything's possible. Unlike those around me, as the center of the vortex, Prin backed by the largest conglomerate group in the Central Star Domain, knows more inside information."
"Enough, let's not talk about this, time to get to work."
"While Ores is busy digesting Blanchi's legacy, Tilan at home building aircraft, let's consume Audrey the big white goose first, otherwise when Tilan's planes are built, it might be too late."
"Shouldn't we first interrupt Tilan, given her perceived threat?" a member inquired.
"No. She's surely set up defenses in the south, I know her cautious nature too well; fighting her won't yield results quickly, better eat Audrey now and gain a lot of points."
"With near triple Points Resource, we can stack combat power, potentially prevail. Tangling now would mean Audrey joining to help, making it two against one."
"What about Lord Ores?"
"Her, let me think, find someone who speaks well among you, negotiate and form an alliance with Ores, agreeing to jointly deal with Audrey and Tilan in the south."
"Though Ores and I aren't on good terms, it's alright, her Elves are likely to approve of joining us, and if they agree, Ores won't oppose too much." Prin rotated the small Ruby Scepter in her hands.
"Just that Audrey took the initiative; if Ores approached Tilan first, with Tilan's seasoned good-naturedness, she probably wouldn't refuse." Prin chuckled.
This half-year's training, Prin had observed the relationships between Tilan and other Songstresses, noting Ores most dependent on Tilan, even more than Audrey.
