Chapter 168: First Test Flight Participation (Part 3)
"Yeah, yeah, I just contributed a negligible amount of effort, no need to thank me so much." She waved her hand and then left the research institute with a hint of fear.
Shortly after Tilan left, a group of personnel in dark blue uniforms locked down the entire research institute. As a Patrol Officer of the Court of Judgment entered with identification, every researcher here was taken away to receive 'education.' Unfortunately, Tilan didn't witness this scene, and the next notification for her to participate in the experiment came three days later.
In the Practical Combat Camp, because of what happened that night, fellow trainees developed an unconscious respect and awe for Tilan. Although the girl remained as gentle as usual, no one dared to joke around or comment in her presence from then on.
Joking? The officers who had previously teased the girl still hadn't come out, and no one knew where they had gone. Some said they were confined, some said they were transferred from the base, and there were outrageous rumors that they were executed, but no one believed that too much.
After another day of training, Tilan lightly jumped off the Mecha. Her body arced through the air, and just as she was about to land, she was slightly lifted by a current, then tiptoed on the ground to stand safely.
"Hecate~" Maggie approached Tilan with two boxes, hugging them.
"This is the week's supply." The two boxes featured black and dark green stripes, along with a series of alphanumeric characters. If one wasn't familiar, they might think it contained ammunition.
"One box contains 12 bottles of T4-grade drink 'Honeybee Honey Tea' and 12 bottles of T4-grade drink 'Flash Star Energy Liquid.' The former is beneficial for maintaining one's figure, removing impurities, toxins, and excess fat from the body, while the latter quickly replenishes energy and stamina, and restores some Magic Power."
"The other box contains six packs of T4-grade 'Compressed Nutrition Biscuits' and six packs of T4-grade 'Green Plum Snowflake Cookies.' The former quickly supplements nutrition and stamina, while the latter alleviates nervous exhaustion, being very beneficial for pilots."
"Thank you." Tilan prepared to take them, but Maggie stepped back half a step.
"Let me help you take them to the dormitory. It's inconvenient for you to carry them alone." Maggie shrugged her shoulders, showcasing her broad arms and muscles, in stark contrast to Tilan's slender figure, obviously making it much easier for her.
"Well, thank you, Maggie." Tilan, not wanting to refuse her goodwill, nodded in agreement.
The two of them then walked back to the dormitory, talking about recent events.
"Regular supply is once a week, all T4-grade food and drinks. At the end of each month, there's a special supply, which is scarce but T3-grade."
"Generally speaking, only Sergeant-level officers get T3-grade supplies, but as Elite Mecha Drivers, our treatment is equivalent to Sergeant-level officers. If we achieve military merits and promotions in the future, we can also receive the treatment of campus-level officers."
"The 'Compressed Nutrition Biscuits' in the supply are rarely eaten. Many save them to take home or sell, while other drinks and foods vary by position and camp, and sometimes people exchange them in the hall to choose their preferred flavors."
"I see." Listening to Maggie talk about camp life, Tilan nodded, finding it interesting.
"No one's been bothering Hecate lately, have they?" Maggie casually asked further.
"No, everyone seems much quieter these past two days." The girl reflected on recent training.
"That... must mean everyone acknowledges your strength now." Maggie originally meant to say everyone was intimidated by you, but slightly adjusted her words to be more gentle.
"The camp is like this; as long as you exhibit sufficient strength, you can avoid many unnecessary troubles, and officers will value and protect you."
"I understand." Tilan blinked, indicating she remembered.
"Haha, good for you, Hecate. Next time, I'll teach you some powerful techniques. Let me tell you, my university professor used to be the Federation's ace pilot..."
Maggie and Tilan talked about their university life as they walked, until their figures slowly disappeared around the corridor's corner.
Attention shifted to the projection screen in the dormitory hall, where a short message slowly scrolled across below.
