Chapter 475: Just Wait to Die
Xu Yang furrowed his brow.
With the situation as it was, it was indeed tricky to handle.
While the two were discussing, Hu Jialang had already arrived at another hotel and changed into another set of clothes.
Truth be told, Hu Jialang was still feeling a bit scared now.
Not because he was afraid of getting arrested by the police.
He knew that since he hadn't actually accomplished his deed, the problem wasn't that serious.
What really scared him was the axe that had nearly cleaved into his forehead.
If he had been hit, he would've been done for.
He was a third-generation rich kid with more money than he could spend and his whole life ahead of him. If he had died like that, it would have been extremely frustrating.
"Jialang, you don't have to worry. Your grandfather has already spoken to me. He said to ignore that kid. He might have some clout in the mainland, but he can't do anything to you," Qiu Xinhui poured a cup of hot water for Hu Jialang, and seeing his somewhat frightened expression and his trembling hands as he took the cup, Qiu offered words of comfort.
"I'm not worried. It's just a pity I didn't get that woman. You didn't see how beautiful she is. I tell you, she's prettier than any woman I've been with before. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone to such lengths. I have to think of a way to get her," Hu Jialang said.
Qiu Xinhui smiled helplessly.
Hu Jialang was good in many ways, but his lust was his downfall.
Every time he saw a beautiful woman, he always thought about getting her.
Many female celebrities in Harbor City had relationships with Hu Jialang.
"You just mentioned that kid has some clout. Who is he?" Hu Jialang asked after taking a sip of hot water.
"Have you heard of the hotpot brand 'Bottom of the River?'" Qiu Xinhui said.
"I've heard of it. They say their service is top-notch and they've grown very quickly. They're valued at several tens of billions now. I was actually planning on trying it while I'm in this city," Hu Jialang said.
"That kid is the owner of Bottom of the River, Xu Yang," Qiu Xinhui said. Enjoy exclusive adventures from My Virtual Library Empire
"What? He's Xu Yang?" Hu Jialang was shocked.
He had read reports about the owner of Bottom of the River, a self-made billionaire.
He was also close friends with Wang Xiaocong and could be seen in good spirits conversing with billionaire Zhang Yimin and others.
He had initially thought that Xu Yang was at most a small rich second-generation but hadn't expected him to have such a background.
However, thinking that he had almost got with the wife of the owner of Bottom of the River excited him.
"No way, I must get his wife!" A flash of excitement gleamed in Hu Jialang's eyes.
He wasn't afraid of Xu Yang at all. Xu Yang was just a billionaire with some influence, which was nothing compared to his grandfather.
"If you do something like that again, it could get very complicated. Better not do it," Qiu Xinhui said, still trying to persuade him.
"Complicated? That's nothing to worry about," Hu Jialang dismissed the concern. "Since grandpa said that the kid can't do anything to me, then even if I get with his wife, what can he do to me!"
He put down his cup, stood up, and said, "Give me a car. I'm going to find that kid now. He didn't know who I was before, but now that he does, maybe he'll let me sleep with his wife right away, hahaha!"
Qiu Xinhui was quite helpless but, remembering what Hu Yaorong had said, that Xu Yang couldn't do anything to Hu Jialang, he wasn't too worried and thus prepared a car for Hu Jialang.
Hu Jialang drove back to the hotel.
The incident earlier was only known to the security personnel involved in trying to capture him and the hotel management; other hotel staff were unaware.
Moreover, Hu Jialang had a room booked at the hotel, and the security, recognizing him, did not stop him.
The police hadn't arrested anyone, so it was pointless for them to stop him.
Thus, Hu Jialang swaggered to Xu Yang's room door and knocked.
When Xu Yang opened the door and saw it was Hu Jialang, his eyes narrowed instantly: "What are you doing here?"
Hu Jialang chuckled, "Nothing much. Just checking on your wife. Has she woken up?"
A cold light flashed in Xu Yang's eyes: "Are you looking for death?"
Hu Jialang curled his lip in disdain: "There's no need for such words. If you could really do something to me, I wouldn't be here. I know who you are now, and you probably know who I am too. To put it bluntly, I fancy your wife. Let me have a go with her, and when you expand your business to Harbor City, my grandfather can lend you a hand!"
Xu Yang really wanted to punch Hu Jialang's head in, but he unclenched his fist, took a deep breath and said, "So you think I really can't do anything to you, is that right?"
"Isn't that obvious?" Hu Jialang replied matter-of-factly, "Speaking of which, your wife is so pretty, why don't you let me have a turn? Or maybe we can share?"
The veins on Xu Yang's forehead throbbed violently, but suddenly he smiled, "You're wrong, it's not that I can't do anything to you, it's that I'm preparing to make you pay a price you can't bear!"
Hu Jialang sneered dismissively, about to speak.
Just then, someone came up behind him and smacked him hard on the back of his head.
Hu Jialang winced in pain, fuming with rage.
Dammit, someone dared to hit him—it was totally out of line.
"You're looking for death!"
He turned around, chased after the fleeing figure in two steps, and with a hook punch to the jaw, knocked the man out cold on the ground.
"Damn it, hitting me? You're really courting death!"
Hu Jialang snorted disdainfully, preparing to continue his talk with Xu Yang.
But he saw several police officers emerging from the elevator who had just witnessed him hitting someone. Two of the officers rushed over, pinned him to the ground, and cuffed him.
One of the officers immediately checked on the man on the ground and called for an ambulance.
They were local patrol officers who had received a report of a brawl at the location and had come to check it out—and it turned out to be true.
Handcuffed, Hu Jialang finally realized what was happening.
This was a trap set by Xu Yang, and the person who had hit him had been arranged by Xu Yang.
The cops must have also been called by Xu Yang, with the intention of getting him locked up.
But Hu Jialang wasn't worried at all.
All he did was knock the guy out, nothing serious.
In such cases, at most he'd pay a fine.
Maybe Qiu Xinhui would come with a few lawyers, and as an investor demand his release, not even having to pay the fine.
Honestly, Hu Jialang thought Xu Yang using these tactics against him was just too childish.
He really didn't understand how Xu Yang could become a billionaire—it must have been just luck.
Thinking this, he flashed a smile at Xu Yang, "Kid, don't get too smug. Just you wait, I've taken a liking to your wife, and I'll definitely get her one way or another!"
"You won't have the chance. Wait for death," Xu Yang scoffed and closed the door.
The police took Hu Jialang away.
In the car on the way to the station, Hu Jialang's phone rang.
"Officer, I need to take that call," Hu Jialang said.
An officer took out the phone to answer it; the other end claimed to be Hu Jialang's lawyer and requested to speak with him.
The officer handed the phone to Hu Jialang.
The caller was Qiu Xinhui, who sighed helplessly, "What's with you getting into a fight?"
Hu Jialang replied nonchalantly, "So I hit someone, no big deal. Come to the station and get me out."
Qiu Xinhui said, "I'm heading there with some people. Until we arrive, don't answer any questions from them."
Hu Jialang smiled, "Don't worry, I know the drill."
After hanging up, a smug expression spread across Hu Jialang's face.
He was thinking about returning to Xu Yang after getting out, wondering what Xu Yang's face would look like when he showed up again.
The thought brought him joy.
Just then, the police officer's phone rang. After the call, his expression changed drastically.
After hanging up, the officer looked at Hu Jialang and said coldly, "Don't count on your lawyer getting you out now!"
