Chapter 386: Ignorance is Bliss
Damon shook his head, leaning back slightly. "I mean, I know what both of those words are, but is it like influencers doing boxing? How does that even work? Do they just box each other?"
Joey stared at Damon, his expression a mix of disbelief and pity. "Man, you need to keep up with the world. Seriously."
Damon chuckled, unfazed. "Nah, I'm good. Ignorance is bliss, they say. So, why are you reacting so hard to influencer boxers, anyway? What's the big deal?"
Joey waved his phone in front of Damon, like it would explain everything. "Because, Damon, these guys are making stupid amounts of money for fights that aren't even serious."
Damon raised an eyebrow, the corner of his mouth quirking into a small smile. "So, you're mad because they're making bank.:
"No... not that, you've been called out."
"Called out?" Damon asked, raising an eyebrow.
He leaned back slightly, his curiosity piqued. He had already made up his mind not to fight for a while, at least not until the World MMA Tournament was over. This, however, was unexpected.
Joey moved closer, holding his phone out toward Damon. "Yeah, there's a video. You might want to see this."
Damon took a moment before reaching for the phone, narrowing his eyes as he studied Joey's expression. "Alright, let's see what's got you so worked up."
Joey tapped the screen, starting the video, and handed it to Damon.
The video began, showing a shirtless man with short blonde hair, tattoos covering his chest and arms, and a pair of oversized sunglasses perched on his nose.
He was lounging in a modern living room, surrounded by a group of friends laughing and talking loudly.
The vibe was casual, but there was an air of intentional showmanship to the setup.
"Alright, alright," the man said, smirking into the camera. His voice was cocky and dripping with confidence, just from the two words.
He panned the camera to a large TV screen mounted on the wall.
The audio of Damon's calm, confident voice echoed in the background as the man focused the camera on the screen.
The man in the video, Dale Cole, leaned back on the couch, his trademark smirk plastered across his face as he gestured toward the TV.
"Yo, yo, yo! Check this out, guys," Dale said, pointing at the screen with exaggerated flair.
Damon's post-fight conference played in the background, his bold claim about being the best striker and grappler in the division still echoing in the room.
Dale turned back to the camera, shaking his head with a mocking laugh. "Damon Cross, huh? The so-called 'best striker' in the middleweight division. Bro, come on. You think you're untouchable? You think you're the best? Man, I've been knocking dudes out left and right, and I ain't even in the UFA!"
The group around him erupted into laughter, hyping him up as Dale leaned closer to the camera. "Damon, you're good, I'll give you that, but let's be real. You've been living in this MMA bubble for too long. Step out of it, big guy. Step into my world."
He gestured to himself dramatically, his friends egging him on. "Let's see if all that grappling and fancy kicks mean anything when you're in the ring with me. No takedowns, no submissions, just hands. You think you've got the best striking? Prove it."
Dale 's smirk widened as he tapped his temple. "But I get it, you're probably too busy prepping for your 'world tournament' or whatever, right? That's cool. But if you're really the best, if you really want to show the world you're untouchable, then fight me. I'll even make it worth your while, big payday, more views than any MMA fight you've ever had, guaranteed."
The camera zoomed in on Dale's face as he grinned wider. "Come on, Damon. The fans want it. I want it. Do you? Or are you gonna keep hiding in the octagon, pretending this challenge doesn't exist? Let's go, bro. Cross the line."
The video ended with Dale throwing a quick one-two combination at the camera, his friends roaring with laughter in the background.
As soon as Dale Cole's video went live, the comments section exploded with activity, and as expected, it was a battleground of opinions.

@Mammothking:
"'The fans want it?' Bro, who are these fans? Ain't nobody asking for this. Stick to fighting retired fighters."
@Iamnot23:
"Damon Cross would fold Dale like a lawn chair. Let's be real here. Dale's ego is writing checks his fists can't cash."
@JustBleedDude:
"Dale, my man, no one wants to see this. If you're so confident, step into the cage. Let's see how you handle leg kicks and elbows."
@Shady96sh:
"Respect to Dale for calling out real fighters, but Damon's on a 15-fight streak in TWO years. Dale wouldn't last 30 seconds."
@Jamesgg537:
"I don't know, y'all. Dale 's got hands, and this is boxing, not MMA. If Damon can't grapple, he might be in trouble."
@CrossEraForever:
"Damon's fanbase is bigger than Dale 's now. We don't need this fight, and we don't need this clown."
@Maxgyslel:
"Dale calling out an elite MMA guy who's not a boxer is typical. Dude, challenge someone in your weight class who knows how to box."
@Anthonhamisno57:
"Imagine Damon landing even one punch on Dale. Dude would wake up in 2027."
@ToughCallTim:
"Dale isn't wrong about the payday and views, though. This fight would blow up, even if he gets knocked out."
@Thebodybuilder:
"Damon's great, but boxing's a different game. If Dale lands that overhand right, it could get ugly."
@AgainstTheWorld:
"Dale just wants clout. Damon's fighting for legacy. There's a big difference."
@TeamCrossNation:
"Damon's momentum is unstoppable right now. Dale couldn't even keep up in a sparring session, let alone a fight."
@694Life:
"Lol at all the haters. Y'all scared Dale might actually win. Damon's never boxed, and Dale's been in the ring with pros."
@Michealpeiei7:
"Why is Dale even talking about 'best striker'? Damon would smoke him standing or on the ground. This is embarrassing."
@UnderdogTruth:
"Y'all underestimate Dale too much. Yeah, Damon's the real deal, but boxing is Dale's lane. Don't be surprised if he shocks the world again."

The comments kept piling up, a mix of overwhelming support for Damon, disdain for Dale's antics, and a sprinkle of contrarian takes supporting Dale's chances.
Damon's growing fanbase rallied behind him, dismissing Dale's challenge as a desperate ploy for attention.
Still, there were enough dissenting voices to keep the debate alive, and the video quickly became one of the top trending topics in the fight world.
