Chapter 625 - 625: 625

Chapter 625: 625

“Which guild dares to be so blatant?” Li Yao frowned.

At first, Li Yao thought it was retaliation for getting hold of the Dark Touch, but on second thought, it didn’t add up. The initial attack hadn’t even unfolded properly.

Besides, orchestrating such an impeccable plan, that would appear as an accident to his guild members was not a simple task.

He knew that the Frogmen and Murlocs were living there. Something must have prepared them for the inability to detect abnormalities.

“Not sure, not many people are involved, but each of them is a master,” said Sister Li.

“Did we make a move against them?” Li Yao raised his brows.

“Sort of,” Sister Li responded, “The first-time caused significant waves, but what they didn’t anticipate is that we didn’t suffer much then. After all, only Frogmen and Murlocs were at the port, and your fleet was out to sea; otherwise, our vessels would probably be lost.”

“That was a lucky escape.” Li Yao, now a bit scared. If he hadn’t rallied his fleet, the losses might have been huge.

Getting those ships was already an accomplishment, in itself. A loss of crew members on top of that would have been a significant blow, which would have affected the development of the guild. Regaining ships seemed nearly impossible at this point.

Factoring in the lost crew members, it would be impossible to find replacements.

Fury engulfed Li Yao on pondering these possibilities. He was careful enough, but such an unfortunate event still occurred.

“Right, their first plan was successful, but the impact wasn’t as expected. If plan A fails, proceed with plan B.” Sister Li’s eyes flashed a cold light, she continued. “We started organizing manpower to clean up the port at that time. Although we transferred personnel, to be cautious, we left the thieves from the Assassination Hall to secretly protect our base.”

“And, they ran into that trap?” Li Yao grinning.

“They tried to cast a spell again and got caught,” Sister Li nodded and continued, “Some of them even quietly placed high-explosive bombs in the significant guild buildings. But they got too greedy. They wanted to burn the raw material warehouse, but they were caught by Fairy Queen and Shadow Dance. The Assassination Hall killed them all.”

Li Yao gasped. High-explosive bombs, these bombs are known for their immense destructive power on buildings. If the city hall is destroyed, the guild’s functional buildings would become paralyzed.

The raw material warehouse is even more critical. Other than the valuable resources collected, there are some valuable materials brought. If they were burned, even Starfire with its impressive wealth would suffer a huge loss.

“They couldn’t destroy the base; they wanted to annoy me,” Li Yao snorted coldly. He recognized that this unscrupulous behavior wouldn’t harm Starfire much, but the recurrence would be enough to hurt Starfire deeply.

“Yes, they probably don’t have enough manpower. They played it safe by directly reviving in the graveyard as soon as the corpse was guarded,” Sister Li continued, “The second-time Frogmen were on alert. They discovered fluctuations in water magic and used the power of their whole tribe to oppose the waves, causing even less damage than the first time.”

Something stirred in Li Yao’s mind. He asked, “When did this all happen?”

“Just now,” Sister Li responded, “Our Murlocs discovered dozens of small boats, all using scrolls, forming an array to harness the Power of the Ocean. The Murlocs sent people to pursue them, but I’m not optimistic. The boats move very fast. And, you’ve taken our warships.”

“What’s the status of the port?” a concerned Li Yao inquired.

“We’re organizing it,” said Sister Li.

“Don’t tidy up yet. Act as if you’re on guard and in pursuit.” Li Yao instructed.

“Why is that?” Sister Li was puzzled.

“An individual challenging a guild can be seen as a type of war. In such a situation, one cannot use Hearthstone. The only way for them to escape is to take a small boat to the channel and board a large ship.” Li Yao explained calmly.

Sister Li, being very keen, instantly understood that keeping the port in ruins would imply that the war is still on, preventing them from using Hearthstone. This would offer a possibility of catching up. The sandbar was quite remote, and the nearest place was just a channel.

“You plan to chase after them?” Sister Li’s eyes sparked. Li Yao’s unexpected plan meant it was not meaningless.

“Yes. Summon a Magician to bring me back. I promise they won’t escape,” A cold glint flashed across Li Yao’s eyes. He was thoroughly annoyed this time. If such behavior were to continue, other guilds would inevitably follow suit. He had to teach them a lesson this time. Catching and killing them was secondary. The primary objective was to expose them.

Li Yao informed Centurion, and then Magician summoned him back.

Gazing at the devastated port, Li Yao’s expression was somber.

“Big Brother, these people are too much. When will our ships be back?” Dumb Dumb, infuriated as the guild’s base that they build together was now damaged.

Not just Dumb Dumb, the other guild members were holding their breath too.

“The ships won’t be back at the port until at least half a day later,” Li Yao patted her head.

“Damn, I swear if I ever find out who they are, I won’t stop till they’re dead,” the Guardian Angel stomped angrily.

“Do whatever you must, the most important thing now is to rebuild the base, and I’ll take care of the revenge. You all can go now,” Li Yao announced.

Given his high reputation, all guild members left the place grumbling and continued to rebuild the base.

“Comfort them. Their anger serves no purpose; I will handle this matter by myself.” Li Yao told Sister Li and others.

Sister Li and others nodded and got busy with their own things.

“I told you, your territory is not safe. Have you learned your lesson now?” Li Yao glared angrily at the Frog Prince.

The Frog Prince was embarrassed. When Li Yao initially proposed building a so-called navy-sea team, he assumed that Li Yao wanted to control his tribe, and so, he delayed it until now.

He didn’t believe anyone would dare to provoke them. But now, his newfound home was almost destroyed. He is having too much fun here and doesn’t even want to return to the sea.

“Okay, alright, I admit I was wrong. Let’s unite to build a defensive team.” The Frog Prince knew that if he didn’t comply with Li Yao after such an event, their collaboration might end.

Starfire wouldn’t allow them to occupy such an important place as the port for free. Without Starfire, he even doubted others more, so he had no option but to cooperate with Starfire.

Li Yao shook his head. The thought of controlling the Frogman never crossed his mind; it was the Frog Prince who overthought it.

“Be on your guard, I’m going to track them down.”

Piles of Dark Touch sprang up under Li Yao’s feet. He directly stepped onto the water surface, and the touch kept dragging him, making him look like he was walking on waves.

Li Yao blew a whistle, causing waves to ripple. The Sea Monster appeared before Li Yao.

Li Yao directly jumped onto the Sea Monster’s back. The Sea Monster roared understanding what Li Yao was thinking.

After circling around the area where the scrolls were initially released, it started to race towards the deep sea…
