Chapter 3: The Holy Trinity
There are usually three admins in the Main lobby and they're staff for Isekai Online. I don't know why the game only has three staff with millions of players, but they get the job done, so I'm not complaining.
But it's weird, isn't it? Nobody has ever questioned that, whatsoever.
I never focused on little details like that, because I was busy leveling up, and building my kingdom, Ottenmore.
The typical no-life thing to do, right? Wasting away all your precious time, just to put it all into an unrealistic game.
But seriously, I've been walking around for 30 minutes, and not a single admin is in sight! What the hell is going on here?
"30 minutes of walking, and I got nothing," I mumbled to myself.
My hands were dug inside my pockets, tucking away the rings on my fingers. If people saw I had level infinity items, they would be trying to kill me.
Of course, they couldn't accomplish that, but still, it's annoying. Dealing with dumbasses who think they can handle a great king is quite common in this world.
Trust me, I had my fair shares.
"Hey, look over there, is that one of the admins?! They finally returned!"
Someone behind me shouted as they pointed to the sky.
"Hm?" I turned around, glancing towards the clouds.
Right above us, one of the admins was floating in midair.
What was he doing?
("That's odd to see an admin fly, I didn't know they had any special traits about them, other than banning people because of offensive slurs or hacking. What's going on? Is this to announce the new big update?")
"Oh, look, two more Admins appeared as well! This must be for the big update!" Some Knight-class player mumbled.
("Now the other two appeared... was that spatial warp?")
"Greetings, players of Isekai World Online. As you all may know, there has been an update installed into the games database, known as update 1.2. This is a big update across the entire world because it introduces new graphics, new mechanics, and... death!"
("Death? That's definitely not part of the update, what's he going on about?! And what's with that psychotic smile on his face?")
Nobody else could see that crazed smile of his, since he was hundreds of feet in the air, but I could.
With the Eyes of the Emperor, I had farsight, allowing me to see long distances and into the future with ease.
It didn't sound like much, but it gave me plenty of opportunities when it came to battle.
I admired it.
"Death? Don't we already die whenever our character loses all of their HP?" A mage class asked.
"I don't know, maybe this 'death' he's talking about is an item?"
("I doubt that. I severely doubt that this exhilaration they mentioned is an item.")
"Yes, you heard me correct, death! This world has been alive for two years in total, but it has been boring us for far too long. So now we must introduce something grand!"
The admins were starting to laugh in sync, worrying the players around me.
This isn't right at all... what the hell was going on?
"Players of Isekai World Online, we will give most of you a demonstration of the new graphics! Are most of you ready?"
("Most of us? Why not all? Something's definitely not right...")
"Yeah!! Show us, we've been waiting to see this forever!"
The crowd started to shout, cheering together for the new graphics and mechanics, but I noticed that some of them were suspicious as well.
So it's just not me, huh?
"Here it is, the grand opening for update 1.2! Allow us to show you... the new graphics for death!!!"
"Yeaaah! Show us! Show us death!"
"We can't wait any longer, give us a demonstration!"
"Hyehaha! Very well, I'll give all of you what you're asking for!"
He was laughing like a maniac.
This isn't an update showcase, it's a betrayal.
The admins have gone completely insane.
All three of them held up their hands, casting a magical circle above the Main lobby.
All of a sudden, the entire lobby was engulfed in a magical barrier, entrapping us inside.
"As of now, all of you will die! Your real bodies have already perished, and you will never return again. We are the Holy Trinity, the three gods of this world, our words are absolute!"
"What are they talking about? Th-This is a joke, right? Holy Trinity? A loud of rubbish! We aren't falling for something like that!"
Everyone summoned their Personal Hubs, scrolling down to leave the game.
"Huh?"
"Wait... what's going on... w-why can't I leave?"
"M-My Personal Hub won't allow me to leave, is this some bug?"
Everyone, and I mean everyone, was panicking.
"Bwa ha ha! Normally when you play the game, your consciousness is implemented into the database, but it's changed for this update."
"Changed how?" Asked a player.
"Now, not only does your consciousness leave with you, but your soul does as well."
"O-Our souls?!" Some elf girl asked.
"Yes, your souls are trapped here in this world. Your real bodies have already died! Their hearts, brains, and organs have stopped, and your bodies are now lifeless meat-bags."
He chuckled at his own words.
"The game avatars are now your real bodies! You belong to our creator of this world, for he has a grand plan for most of you."
"Mom... help me... dad... please, I'm scared."
"...Father... I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your birthday."
"Mom, I'm sorry I was a bad child... forgive me for everything I've done."
The players around me started to cry, while some fell to their knees in denial.
They all had lives that were just taken from them, and they could never get it back.
"Then why? Why are you going to kill us? If your creator has a grand plan, then what's the point of us dying?" Some mage class shouted.
"Some of you don't fit the criteria needed for our master, so you must perish. Those are his words, and they're absolute."
One of the holy gods extended their arms to the side, gathering magical power into their hand.
"Summoning, Spear of Ares!" A bright light shone in their palm, as a weapon manifested from magic, "Now, to bring death to those who deserve it, begone from the power of Ares!"
"The spear of Ares, that's one of the Legendary Grade weapons, we can't go up against that, we're doomed!"
"We're gonna die!!! We're all gonna fucking die!"
"Please show us mercy! Spare us, don't do this! I have a family, I want to see my brother!"
They all ran around like cattle in a lion's den.
But, all hope for them wasn't lost. A group of powerful players decided to join together and attack the Holy Trinity with their power.
Ah, I see, they were a party of people.
And a brand new one at that.
They must've created a party together to join forces and take down the three admins.
"We won't let you have your way!!"
The one leading this party was the strongest, he was level 50, halfway there to max level.
He had some powerful equipment from the looks of it, and he also had items that allowed him to fly.
He was pretty strong for his level, I'll give him that.
"You fool! Does a level 50 dare attack us with a party? Have you gone mad?"
"Now!!" The Leader knight shouted his command, which caused the other five party members to nod their heads.
All of a sudden, they teleported out of sight.
("Those were definitely warp mirrors; Level 5 items that allow you to teleport anywhere you desire without wasting any mana points. How did they get so many? Level 5 items are usually limited to 71-100 leveled players.")
"Warp mirrors?" One of the gods exclaimed, but before they could do anything else, it was too late.
"Enshroud!" (All party members)
Together they performed top-tier Defensive magic.
Ah right, I didn't explain Magic to you. Well, for starters, Magic is an art used to reshape reality through willpower and arcane knowledge. Sorcerers are known to use magic and practice bending the laws of physics, and reality as a whole, to their will.
The arts of magic use spells, rituals, and other mystical tools to defy the common sense of the world, however, magic is heavily dependent on the imagery and beliefs of the sorcerer, and can only be performed by manipulating Aether.
Aether is an omnipresent substance of untapped potential and energy. It is the very building blocks of reality, existing within all things, and defining existence as a whole. The manipulation of it in particular allows Sorcerers to achieve feats of projecting their image, or ideas, into reality, and influencing the laws of the world.
To cast spells, a sorcerer must use hand signs to create a magic circle, focusing on their idea and projecting it into reality. Spells are normally done by incantations and magic circles, which are used to help increase focus and give the caster a solid image of the spell they want to conjure, however, some don't require such a system and can create common spells perfectly fine with their imagery.
However, depending on how great, and powerful the spell is, it would require longer concentration to perform, sometimes lasting for hours, or even years.
Among the arts of magic, everyone at birth is born with a certain type of magic that they excel in better than the others. A celestial user could use defensive magic, however, it would pale in comparison to their inherited magic-type. A Necromancy user could use elemental magic, but it would be weak compared to their ability to manipulate and control the undead. The known magic-types are:
{Arcane: Legendary magic that can supersede all classes of magic. This class is so rare that only the four great kings have it, as it's only obtainable for those who pre-ordered the game and completed all its missions in a month as part of Isekai World Online's beta event.
Celestial: Celestial magic is usually performed for healing, restoration, or removing debuffs from players or themselves, it can also enhance physical attributes. Additionally, it can be used to enhance regenerative properties.
Defensive: This magic is usually done to create defensive spells and protect allies, but it can be used offensively as well.
Elemental: This magic manipulates the elements of the world to perform dangerous spells, such as air, water, fire, earth, light, and darkness.
Necromancy: This is magic done by mostly the Abnormal race, that allows them to raise the dead and summon powerful undead soldiers for battle.
Debuff: This is magic used to specifically debuff someone or cancel out magical spells, it's rarely used, but it can be useful to players who mastered it.}
Before you can actually play the game, you must create your character and choose one of these magic classes, excluding arcane, since that was limited.
This party's magic was quite powerful, but they were going up against the literal Gods of the game.
They were brave but incredibly unprepared.
The first thing they should've done was find a way to break the barrier around the Main Lobby, but they decided to attack the Holy Trinity.
"It worked!" (Party Member 1)
"I can't believe it..." (Party Member 1)
The Holy Trinity was trapped inside a powerful defensive magical barrier.
This spell was called Enshroud. The more you struggle to break free, the stronger the barrier will become to prevent escape, unless you possess a higher understanding of magical spells.
Crack—!
"It's... cracking!?" (Party Member 3)
And naturally, the Gods were geniuses in the arts of the arcane.
Just like that, the barrier broke like glass.
The three gods were enraged and decided to attack the party members with their spells.
They all fired powerful Elemental magic, which was enough to eradicate the party members' life points.
However...
"That's enough."
Their elemental magic was grasped, by me.
"Hoh?" One of the gods muttered.
"It's... you... Emperor!?"
Just in the nick of time, I created 5 individual clones with my Level infinity item, "Nyarlathotep".
Just like the faceless god himself, I had avatars I could create at any given time, with the same skills, experience, memories, knowledge, strength, and speed.
They instantly knew what to do upon creation, thus, we prevented the deaths of 6 brave party members.
"Futile," Me and my avatars muttered under our breath as we slapped away the A-tier Elemental magic.
"...A great king, here?!" The Leader Knight muttered.
"Let these people go, or you'll face the power of a King."
