Chapter 1300: Plans of the Future

"The Azure Coalition…" parroted Thomas in response to Valyr's words, with Meria and Lucques muttering the name to themselves.

"That… sounds good. Cool, actually," said the man a few seconds later, nodding at the name in satisfaction. "Seeing that you took some time to think about it, I'm guessing there's a meaning behind the name?"

At those words, the three directly looked at the young man, their gazes making the latter feel like he'd been put in the spotlight.

"Well…" Of course, even though he did feel some pressure from the curious gazes they gave him, the pressure he got from them was nowhere near the pressure he had endure in his past life.

With that, although the intent behind the name had come from both his past experiences and new experiences combining together, Valyr went ahead and gave the three a response he felt was typical for a cool name like the Azure Coalition.

"Don't you think it sounds cool?" said the man, only to let out a slightly amused chuckle as he noticed the three's expression crack at his words.

"Then again, if you think about it, any guild name having a color at the front and another word would automatically sound cool."

"There's the Red Sky and the White Galaxy of the Five Leviathans," continued the young man. "And if you want to limit it to the famous guilds in the Southeast Alliance, then you have the Golden Stars and the Silver Thorns."

"I… see," said Thomas after a while, the young man's explanation slightly confusing him.

Fortunately, the confusion he felt only lasted for a brief moment, promptly reminding him of the slight suspicion he felt towards the intent behind the name.

"But seriously though." Still feeling that there had to be a grand reason behind the name of the guild, Thomas continued to press Valyr on. "What made you come up with the Azure Coalition as a name?"

"Let's just say it's preparation for our futures," said the young man in a succinct tone, making sure to not show any cracks in his facade whatsoever.

"I've got a strong feeling that we'll go far with a guild name like that."

"Unless… you have a suggestion for the guild's name?" asked Valyr back, giving Thomas a knowing smile. "As far as I know, who named our guild Harbingers of Chaos in the last VRMMO we played?"

"That… fuck you, man." Hearing Meria and Lucques laugh in response to the young man's words, Thomas could not help but let out a sigh as he decided not to continue their current topic out of embarrassment.

Letting out a bit of laughter at the response he got, Valyr quickly apologized to his good friend after that, allowing the four to return to their current topic not long after.

"Anyways, do any of you have any objections to the name?" asked the young man to the three.

"I've already looked into establishing guilds beforehand, so I'll let you guys know now that it's going to take a lot of effort to change the guild's name after we formally establish it."

"Got no problems here," replied Lucques with a slight smile as Meria nodded in agreement. "Plus, with how you showed no hesitation in helping us with our problem, the least we could do is not argue with you on the name."

"How about you, Thomas?" Thanking the two for their agreement on the name, the young man then shifted his gaze towards the first person he ever approached since coming back to Earth. "Got any problems with calling it the Azure Coalition?"

"None whatsoever." Thomas shook his head, his expression telling Valyr that he was already prepared for the young man's quips later on if need be.

"Aside from that, just like what Lucques said, it's the least I could do, especially if we think about the amount of money you've given me already."

"Other than that, I'm kind of excited," said the man with a smile. "It's been a long while since the four of us got together to create a guild. With all of us planning to play the game full-time, I'm quite curious how far we could take this guild."

"Definitely took the words right out of my mouth," replied Meria, grinning at the man's words.

Feeling his heart warm up at the positive reaction his friends had given to his idea, Valyr went ahead and thanked the three once more for their cooperation.

Telling them to finally get some rest after playing the game for far longer than they should have, the young man eventually reminded them to set some of the earnings they got from the beauty elixirs aside before they truly left.

Of course, the three asked him why after that, to which he responded that he had a way to help further improve their foundations in the game once they got back.

Although curious as to what Valyr meant by that, the three eventually left the game after the realization of how much time they spent playing hit them, leaving the young man to his own devices not even a few seconds later.

Whoosh!

Briefly glancing at the spots where his three friends previously stood before logging out, a grin soon adorned the young man's face, only for him to then start letting out laughter that gradually grew louder with every passing second.

"Haah…" Feeling as if he'd voiced out all of the excitement he felt at that moment, the young man soon let out a content sigh as he sat on the bed, storing his share of the earnings from the beauty elixirs into his spatial bracelet for the meantime.

Closing his eyes for a bit as he thought about what to do next, Valyr soon thought back to the words he told the three before they left the game.

"Now that I think about it, it's kind of weird that players haven't found the Reinforcement Elixirs yet," muttered the young man to himself as he opened his eyes, only to then bring up the player forum in front of him.

Ding!

Looking through the various articles the players have posted throughout the past week Greater Beyond had been released to the public, Valyr quickly confirmed the fact that none of the players have stumbled upon the Reinforcement Elixirs whatsoever.

Being the first advantage he'd given himself back when he was brought to the world of Greater Beyond as an NPC, the existence of the Reinforcement Elixirs had a great impact on the path that led him to where he was today.

With that, he promptly thought back to the memory that surfaced in his mind the first time he thought about using the Reinforcement Elixirs, only to then focus more of his attention on it.

Thanking the fact that his past memories had become clearer than ever before, Valyr was eventually able to recall more information on when the Reinforcement Elixirs had become prominent throughout the player base.

And that information… only made the young man even more confused than before.

"From what I could recall, it was after a week Greater Beyond was released to the public did players start to discover the existence of the paid Reinforcement Elixirs," muttered the young man to himself, faintly scratching his head as he decided to scroll through the forums once more.

Though he still hadn't found any articles or threads whatsoever that talked about the Reinforcement Elixirs in detail, there were still a few posts here and there that asked for ways to make themselves stronger.

Seeing the responses on these threads talk about elixirs and the like, the young man was confident that it was only a matter of time until the player base discovered the existence of the paid Reinforcement Elixirs, which would in turn bring about the existence of the craftable Reinforcement Elixirs.

Because of that, even though he still found it weird that the players hadn't discovered the Reinforcement Elixirs by now, Valyr decided not to pursue the matter any further.

…Even if the reason as to why that was the case unknowingly had something to do with him.

"How much time have I racked up on [Soul Shift]?" Thinking about giving the three a set of Basic Reinforcement Elixirs to help fortify their foundations for ascension, Valyr felt that it was a no-brainer for him to make use of his other identity to help with it.

Thankfully, with the fact that he'd spent almost all of his time thus far as a player, the young man was able to bring back the duration [Soul Shift] could last to a day, and then a few hours extra after that.

With that, the young man did not hesitate to activate the skill, briefly discarding his identity as Ataraxia as he returned to becoming Valyr Zeihardt.

Whoosh!

Ding! Ding! Ding!

"Hmm?" Hearing the system go haywire only a few seconds after returning to his other self, Valyr raised his eyebrow in curiosity as he did a few basic movements to adjust to his greater strength returning.

Curious as to why the system bombarded him with notification sounds all of a sudden, the young man went ahead and pulled up the screen in front of him, only to see that he had received messages from various people while he was in his player self.

Feeling a hint of panic set in as he wondered how much time had passed since he received these messages, Valyr went ahead and began to read through them one by one.

…Only for his heart to drop the moment a certain string of words laid before his very eyes.

"…Elves attacked… by the orcs."

"…They're joining… the fray."
