Chapter 1302: Back to the Frontlines
"They've called everyone that enlisted to head to the frontlines as soon as possible," repeated Mystia in her reply, understanding the young man's shock over the matter.
"As for why, it's because they plan on launching an offensive on both the elves and the orcs at the same time, striking them at their most vulnerable spot."
Finally obtaining information on the intent behind the announcement, Valyr swiftly came up with a question he wanted to ask Mystia in return. "Did we attack yet, or are we still in the planning phases?"
"We've already launched a small frontal assault on the two races around a week after I sent you the news about the elves being ambushed," wrote Mystia in her message, which prompted the young man to imagine her letting out a sigh at that very moment.
"Though, unsurprisingly, with us having decided to only test the waters, that frontal assault didn't really do that much to tip the scales even a fraction of a bit back to our favor."
"…And I'm guessing we're planning to launch yet another frontal assault on the two races, then?" asked Valyr, getting the feeling that their conversation would head in that direction.
And surprisingly, it actually did.
"That would be correct," replied Mystia in return, causing Valyr to briefly imagine the amount of stress she was experiencing at the moment.
"Unlike the previous frontal assault we did, we'll be launching two-pronged attacks on both races."
"If everything goes smoothly and the two races react accordingly to the predictions we've come up with, then there's a high chances we'll be able to return things to its previous balance," continued Mystia in her next few messages.
"As of late, the elves and the orcs are currently the main forces in this war, which also means that we're being squeezed by the two races on both sides."
"If we don't fight back, then we'll be the first among the three races in the war to end up losing."
"I don't even want to imagine what would happen if that were to become a reality."
"…" For a while after that, Valyr whizzed through the air in silence as he pondered over the messages Mystia sent him regarding how the war was currently unfolding.
By the time he arrived at the first town he saw, the young man went ahead and posed a question to Mystia as he swiftly made his way to the town's Blacksmith Guild branch.
"How much time is there left until we attack the two races again?"
"Realistically speaking, around a month from now," replied Mystia just as the young man entered the Blacksmith Guild.
Showing his identification badge as a Lesser Elder of the guild to the attendants as he headed straight to the guild's Teleportation Hall, Valyr faintly nodded in understanding as he stood at the center of the teleportation circle.
"Got it," wrote the young man in his response.
"I'm already on my way."
Whoosh!
…
"I honestly thought you intentionally decided to ignore all of the messages I've sent you."
Just as Valyr had appeared within the Teleportation Hall of the Algerie Kingdom branch of the guild, a familiar middle-aged man appeared within his vision, causing him to smile and chuckle in response.
"It's been a while," said the young man, embracing Julian for a short while. "Sorry for not being able to reply for a long while. I was busy with other things during that time."
"At least you made the decision to show up," said Julian as he let out a bit of laughter. "I know quite a lot of people in my life that haven't shown their faces to the public in decades."

"In any case, what brings you to the guild?" asked the man, only for his expression to turn solemn as he took note of the gaze Valyr was giving him.
"…Did you come here because of the news I gave you?"
"Yeah." Valyr nodded as the two of them decided to head out of the Teleportation Hall. "Mystia even told me that they were calling everyone that enlisted in the war to the frontlines."
"That they have." Julian nodded, only to then let out a faint sigh. "Because of that, around a third of the guild's usual workforce is missing, which means we've begun to lag behind on the requests the frontlines have for equipment."
"…Even with all of the equipment I gave you that time?" asked Valyr with a slightly raised eyebrow, knowing that he gave almost 2,000 pieces of usable and serviceable equipment to the man.
"Unfortunately." Julian could only wryly smile in response, prompting the young man to scratch the back of his head.
Getting the feeling that the man in front of him wanted him to help the Blacksmith Guild finish some of the forging quotas they were behind on, the young man pushed the thought to the side for the meantime, especially after the two blueprints he shared with the guild came to mind.
"Now that I think about it, what's the situation regarding the armor and the weapon I gave the guild?" asked Valyr, his expression filled with curiosity. "Pretty sure they've already forged a decent amount of them by now, no?"
"They have." Julian nodded, inwardly sighing after seeing Valyr deftly move the conversation away from the topic he brought up. "In fact, the frontlines have made the unanimous decision to have everyone there wear a version of the armor you shared."
"And the arquebus?" replied the young man.
"Each of the four main defensive lines have a legion focused on honing their skills with the weapon," said the man in response. "From what I've heard, those legions are considered the ones with the lowest casualty rate among them."
'Not really surprising, especially given the fact that they're meant to be used in long-range in the first place,' thought Valyr in response to those words before nodding in understanding.
Having come to the Blacksmith Guild for the sole purpose of shortening his trip to the defensive lines as much as possible, it went without saying that the young man left the guild after talking with Julian for a bit longer.
"[Flash of the Azure Dragon]."
"[Flight of the Azure Dragon]."
Whoosh!
Making a few empty promises to make sure Julian would stop pestering him about forging quotas and the like, the young man eventually took to the skies, leaving the Algerie Kingdom in a matter of seconds as he headed straight to his next destination.
