Monarch of Blue Lock: Yoichi Isagi

"Good works, my diamonds in the rough." Ego said as the screen switched from the Tag interface to a camera of him. "Now, get out Ryosuke Kira. You're disqualified!"

"...Disqualified?" Kira muttered as he stood up, wiping the blood from his nose. "N-No way, that's not even fair!" He yelled out, his finger pointing towards Igaguri. "Don't tell me you think he's better than me! Or even Isagi. I'm the jewel of Japanese football! There's no way they're better than me!"

While everyone stared at Kira's rage, Isagi was more-so focused on the Gold Card he had just received. He questioned on saving it, but seeing as how everyone was focused on Kira, Isagi let his curiosity control him.

His finger clicked on open as the screen switched to a gold card.

'Burst [Pace Ability]'

-The user gains a sudden burst of speed, increasing their pace stat by 2 for 5 seconds. Cost 30 SP. 

"A pace ability. I wonder how many types of abilities there are. But what does it mean increasing my speed stat?" Isagi wondered. Taking a gamble, Isagi muttered the word, "Stats."

Immediately, a screen replaced the card. It listed a large variety of stats.

Shooting: C

Dribbling: D

Passing: C

Vision: B

Physical: D

Pace: D

Stamina: D

Defense: C

Isagi let out a depressing sigh as he looked at his stats. They were pretty bad. Looking at his pace stat however, he thought in his head how a normal ranking went. "So my pace would boost up to B if I activate 'Burst'." Isagi thought.

He dismissed the screen just as Kira walked out of the room. Ego was also prattling on about them before announcing that they'd be Blue Lock's 'Team Z'.

It had been 4 days since Blue Lock had started. The first 3 days were stamina and physical training. Isagi was outclassed by most of Team Z. However, he was able to figure out a few things. He could view stats of every person, with Bachira being the best so far overall.

On the fifth day, Team Z was gathered in their sleeping quarters. The screen in the room turned on to Ego.

"Now, let me explain the First Selection. All of you in Wing 5 will have a round-robin tournament with the other teams in the wing. After the final match, the top 2 teams will clear the selection. For the loser teams, only the top scorers will be allowed to move on.

The next day sparked the first game Team Z had. It was against Team X.

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" Four people yelled out. Gagamaru, Bachira, Raichi, and Isagi. In the end, Isagi won by picking rock and the rest picking scissors. 

"Alright then, since Isagi is the winner, he gets to pick a position first." Kuon said.

"I get to pick first. Then, I'm obviously going to go with..." Isagi clenched his fist. "I want to be a forward!"

Team Z stepped out on to the field just as Team X did. As Isagi stretched, he worried about how the game would go, the anticipation killing him. "I wonder what their ranks are." Isagi thought. Ranks began to pop up over their heads without Isagi needing to open their profiles. All of them were rank C except one.

Shoei Baro, who was ranked B. "B? That's even higher than Kira's." Isagi thought as he stood up straight. Suddenly, a screen appeared.

Quest: Team Z vs Team X

-Defeat Team X to gain a reward

"A quest?" Isagi questioned. Though, a reward interested him. Maybe it'd be another skill card. That was all that he got so far. Isagi dismissed the screen as he got ready to play.
