More Than an Immortal

Chapter 9: The Treacherous Mountain

In Azure Vanguard Dungeon ( Prison)

Xiao Hei's eyes scanned the cold, damp cell, his mind racing with thoughts of escape. The stone walls seemed to close in around him, and the iron bars on the small window high above his head gleamed mockingly in the faint light.

Jian Feng's men tossed him onto the straw pallet, and Xiao Hei sprang to his feet, his eyes blazing with defiance.

"You'll never keep me here," Xiao Hei sneered, his voice echoing off the stone walls.

One of Jian Feng's men, a burly warrior with a cruel grin, stepped forward. "We'll see about that," he said, his hand on the hilt of his sword.

Xiao Hei's eyes locked onto the warrior's, a spark of challenge igniting between them. But before things could escalate, a voice rang out from the shadows.

"Enough."

The warrior stepped back, his eyes flicking towards the speaker. Xiao Hei followed his gaze, and his eyes narrowed as he saw Jian Feng emerge from the darkness.

"What do you want, Jian Feng?" Xiao Hei spat, his voice venomous.

Jian Feng's eyes seemed to bore into Xiao Hei's soul. "I want to know why you've been targeting the wealthy," he said, his voice firm but controlled.

Xiao Hei's smile was a thin, cruel line. "You'll never understand," he said, his voice dripping with malice.

Jian Feng's eyes flashed with anger, but he kept his cool. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice dripping with menace.

And with that, Jian Feng turned and left, leaving Xiao Hei to rot in his cell. But Xiao Hei's eyes gleamed with a fierce light, his mind already racing with plans for escape...

Xiao Hei's eyes gleamed with a mixture of desperation and cunning as he spoke to Jian Feng. "What if I could give you a rare treasure?" he asked, his voice laced with persuasion.

Jian Feng raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "I wonder what 'rare' treasure could persuade me to release a renowned bandit like you," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.

Xiao Hei's smile was a thin, cruel line. "What if it was the Lingzhi flower?" he asked, his voice low and urgent. "The one used to cure incurable diseases, with only one left in the three realms."

Jian Feng's expression changed, his eyes narrowing in interest. "Go on," he said, his voice firm but controlled.

Xiao Hei's eyes gleamed with triumph. "I have the Lingzhi flower," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "And I'm willing to give it to you, if you release me."

Jian Feng's face darkened, his eyes blazing with intensity. "You're a clever one, Xiao Hei," he said, his voice low and menacing. "But I'm not one to be trifled with. If you're lying to me, you'll regret it."

Xiao Hei's smile never wavered. "I'm not lying," he said, his voice firm. "I have the Lingzhi flower, and I'm willing to give it to you."

Jian Feng's eyes seemed to bore into Xiao Hei's soul, as if searching for any sign of deception. But Xiao Hei's expression remained calm, his eyes never leaving Jian Feng's.

Finally, Jian Feng nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Very well," he said, his voice firm. "I'll release you, but if you're caught again, you'll face the full force of the law. And if you're lying to me about the Lingzhi flower, you'll regret it."

Xiao Hei's eyes gleamed with triumph as he pulled out the Lingzhi flower from his invisible treasure bag. The delicate petals unfolded, revealing the flower's vibrant purple color and glowing center.

Jian Feng's eyes widened in awe, his face pale. "Where did you get this?" he demanded, his voice barely above a whisper.

Xiao Hei's smile was a thin, cruel line. "That's for me to know," he said, his eyes glinting with triumph.

Jian Feng's face darkened, his eyes blazing with intensity. But he knew that he had to prioritize his master's life. He took the Lingzhi flower from Xiao Hei, his fingers closing around it like a vice.

"Remember, Xiao Hei," he said, his voice low and menacing. "If you're caught again, you'll face the full force of the law."

Xiao Hei's smile never wavered. "I won't forget," he said, his voice firm.

With that, Jian Feng turned and left, the Lingzhi flower clutched tightly in his hand. Xiao Hei watched him go, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Meanwhile, in the treacherous mountains of Qingyun Shan, Xian Yue and Guang Cheng navigated the deadly traps set by the ancient mechanisms. The air was thick with tension, the sound of dripping water echoing off the walls.

As they walked deeper into the mountain, the traps grew more deadly, the mechanisms more complex. But the two warriors pressed on, their determination and skill guiding them through the treacherous landscape.

Suddenly, a loud rumbling noise shook the ground, and a massive stone door slammed shut behind them, trapping them inside. Xian Yue's eyes narrowed, her hand instinctively reaching for the sword at her waist.

Guang Cheng stood beside her, his eyes scanning the surroundings, his movements fluid and confident. "We need to find a way out," he said, his voice firm.

Xian Yue nodded, her eyes locked onto the stone door. "I'll take care of this," she said, her voice confident.

With a swift motion, Xian Yue drew her sword, the blade flashing in the dim light. She charged towards the stone door, her sword slicing through the air with deadly precision.

The stone door shuddered beneath her attack, the sound of scraping stone echoing through the air. Guang Cheng watched in awe as Xian Yue's sword sliced through the door, creating a small opening.

"Let's go," Xian Yue said, her voice firm, as she squeezed through the opening.

Guang Cheng followed closely behind, his eyes scanning the surroundings, his hand on the hilt of his sword. As they emerged on the other side of the door, they found themselves in a narrow corridor, the walls lined with intricate carvings and the air thick with the scent of incense.

Suddenly, the sound of shifting stone echoed through the corridor, and the walls began to close in on them. Xian Yue's eyes narrowed, her hand instinctively reaching for her sword.

"Guang Cheng, watch out!" she shouted, as a massive stone slab swung down from the ceiling, barely missing Guang Cheng's head.

Guang Cheng dodged to the side, his eyes locked onto the stone slab as it crashed to the ground, sending shards of stone flying in all directions.

Xian Yue charged forward, her sword flashing in the dim light as she attacked the stone slab, trying to create an opening. Guang Cheng joined her, his sword slicing through the air with deadly precision.

Together, they fought against the deadly traps, their movements a perfect symphony of steel and silk. But despite their skill and determination, the traps seemed to be getting more and more deadly, the mechanisms more complex.

As they navigated the treacherous corridor, they stumbled upon Mo Yuan, the demon clan disciple, who was fighting against a group of deadly darts, his invisibility magic broken as he struggled to protect himself.

Xian Yue and Guang Cheng rushed to his aid, their swords flashing in the dim light as they fought against the darts. Mo Yuan's eyes locked onto them, a look of gratitude flashing across his face.

But just as they thought they had overcome the trap, a loud rumbling noise echoed through the corridor, and a massive boulder came crashing down, barely missing Mo Yuan's head.

Gao, the Iron Fist Sect leader, appeared out of nowhere, his massive fist swinging through the air as he tried to deflect the boulder. But despite his incredible strength, the boulder was too massive, and it sent him flying across the corridor.

Xian Yue and Guang Cheng rushed to his aid, their swords flashing in the dim light as they fought against the deadly traps. But despite their valiant efforts, Gao was badly injured, his body broken and battered.

As they caught their breath, Xian Yue's eyes locked onto the corridor ahead, her expression determined. "We need to keep moving," she said, her voice firm. "We can't let these traps defeat us."

Guang Cheng nodded, his eyes locked onto hers. "Let's go," he said, his voice confident.

Together, they pressed on, their swords at the ready, their hearts pounding with anticipation. But as they navigated the treacherous corridor, they couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched, that unseen eyes were monitoring their every move.

And then, just as they turned a corner, they stumbled upon a massive stone door, adorned with intricate carvings and mysterious symbols. The door was covered in a thick layer of dust, and it looked like it hadn't been opened in centuries.

Xian Yue's eyes locked onto the door, her expression curious. "What's behind this door?" she wondered, her voice barely above a whisper.

Guang Cheng's eyes locked onto hers, his expression serious. "Let's find out," he said, his voice firm.

Together, they pushed the door open, their swords at the ready, their hearts pounding with anticipation. But as they stepped through the doorway, they were met with a sight that took their breath away.

A massive chamber stretched out before them, the ceiling lost in darkness. The room was filled with rows of ancient stone pedestals, each one topped with a glowing crystal. And at the far end of the room, on a pedestal of black stone, lay the Clear Cloud Sword, its blade shining with a light that seemed almost divine.

But as they approached the sword, they were confronted by a figure they hadn't expected to see. Jian Feng stood before them, his eyes blazing with a fierce light.

"Welcome, Xian Yue," he said, his voice low and menacing. "I've been waiting for you."
