Chapter 31
Chapter 31. Surprised by the Otherworld’s Specifications
The sickle mows through the grass smoothly… or so you’d think.
“Is this really a path?”
At the entrance, it was narrow, but at least you could tell it had once been a path. But just a little further in, the grass grew so tall it seemed like even animals hadn’t passed through.
For now, I figured I’d at least clear enough width for the car, so I kept cutting the grass to widen the path.
“So hot…”
Wiping the sweat from my brow, I straightened my back.
When I turned to look behind me, I hadn’t made much progress at all.
“…Let’s take a break.”
I left the sickle inside the tent and sat down on the folding chair. A cool breeze lifted my spirits.
For hydration, I poured water from a PET bottle I’d set aside earlier into a mug. It was lukewarm, but that couldn’t be helped.
“Sigh… I wonder how long it’ll take to reach the spring.”
I turned on the tablet in the tent, launched Hirogeru-kun, and checked the map.
“Huh? The path got wider?”
It had been marked as a narrow animal trail, but part of it (about two centimeters on the screen?) now appeared broader.
“There’s still so much left~”
Grumbling, I closed the app—then noticed a small red dot blinking on the Storage app. Wondering what it was, I tapped it.
“Whoa! What? It’s full!?”
Panicking, I checked and saw it was maxed out with Grass and Branches.
I didn’t remember putting them in there myself. Hurriedly, I selected Discard for Grass. Maybe because the amount wasn’t much, the total KP I got was only 10 KP.
“Hmm… less than I expected.”
A cup noodle container gives 5 KP, so what’s up with this?
“Does this mean it automatically stores stuff?”
I looked for a setting or something but couldn’t find anything. Giving up, I left it as is and checked the portable power station’s charge level.
I figured, *Well, it’s only been an hour or two—it couldn’t be halfway yet—*but…
“Wait, it’s already full!?”
The weather was nice, but could it really charge that fast?
“Well… if that’s how it is, I can charge the weed whipper too.”
Still suspicious, I pulled the weed whipper from the back seat and plugged it in. It should charge now.
In the meantime, I might as well eat lunch.
“Ugh… I don’t feel like cooking anything heavy… ramen again, I guess.”
This time, not cup noodles—bagged noodles. My favorite is salt ramen.
At home, I’d stir-fry veggies and simmer them in the broth, but I don’t have fresh veggies now. So, I just added a raw egg and dried wakame.
“Maybe I should start a garden here… but it’s almost autumn… what can I even grow this late?”
Slurping the ramen from the cookware, I glanced at the land stretching before me.
No internet here, so I couldn’t look it up. I’d have to check next time I went shopping.
“…Maybe raising chickens or goats to eat the grass would be faster…”
Whenever that’d be.
After washing the cookware, I got up to resume grass-cutting. I thought the weed whipper would still be charging, but…
“Huh!?”
It’s already done!?
“Is this the otherworld’s specs!?”
Stunned, I froze in place.
