Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 351: Bait And Switch.

Besides, the man had an armament on his back which identified him as a member of the Blood Skull sect.

The armament was in the form of a black leather cape. The underside of the cape had colorful runes on it, while the surface of the cape was scaly like the surface of a snake's body.

He glanced at them when they began walking in their direction. Then he glanced away when he recognized which sect they came from.

He didn't look at them or speak to them even when they reached him. He was silent and still like a rock.

Arthur asked him, "What's the situation? What's the delay?"

He replied, "The beast is powerful. I don't want to fight it with all of these people around."

Arthur still couldn't see the problem. So he said, "So just get rid of the bystanders."

The man replied, "I'm waiting for more of them to gather."

Arthur finally realized what the problem was. He said, "Ahhh. I see."

Thor also exclaimed in understanding.

Arthur thought about it and decided to withdraw. He said to the man, "Good luck and good hunting."

The man nodded and also responded. "Good hunting."

He realized that the man was hunting, and he didn't want to spoil the guy's plan, so he decided to leave. This is the courtesy that disciples of the Black Bones sect give each other.

The man told him about his hunting plan, and since the man didn't invite him to join, he should leave.

Arthur said to Thor, "Let's go."

Thor nodded and left with him.

From the beginning to the end, the two of them didn't speak with anyone else or consider them. Once they determined that all of this was a trap, they realized that it had nothing to do with them.

As they left, they were also noticed by the people around. But no one thought there was anything special about their departure.

Only five people thought that their departure was significant. These five belonged to the same group and were disciples of the Sword Way sect.

The five of them looked at each other meaningfully and discussed using voice transmission. They thought that Arthur's departure was suspicious, but they weren't willing to leave just yet, so they remained.

Apart from the precious plant here being very valuable, the main reason they didn't want to leave was because they had called for reinforcement.

Since reinforcement is already on its way, all they need to do is wait. Once they have enough numbers, they will sweep the scene and take everything for themselves.

Unfortunately for them, they weren't the only ones who called for reinforcement. The three people from the Beast Training sect also called for reinforcement, and their reinforcement was the first to arrive.

The arrival of 17 extra people increased the number of people from 12 to 29. So the people from the Beast Training sect increased from 3 to 20.

What's more, each disciple had at least one pet to support them. So they were effectively 40 combatants, not 20.

This number of people made the other groups wary. Some of them even decided to give up and retreat while they could.

Many people began stepping back and creating some distance between them and others. Only the obsidian-skinned guy felt that the situation was just right.

The cape around his body began to glow a black light. Then it wrapped around him and began to enhance his body.

When everyone saw his actions, they became encouraged to wait and see the outcome of the fight between the disciple of the Blood Skull sect and 20 disciples from the Beast Training sect.

By the time the Armament was done fusing with him, the man had become a humanoid serpent. He was still black, but he was more terrifying now.

He rushed towards the group of beast-training disciples. His targets saw him, but they were not afraid. They too had been preparing for the confrontation, so they stood their ground.

The man rushed over to them as if he wanted to tear them apart. But then he stopped in front of them and exhaled at them.

A thick cloud of soot was sprayed on everyone in front of him. Black dust scattered and submerged everything in front of him like fog.

Everyone was already using their shield spells to protect themselves. But when the black dust came into contact with their shields, the shields dimmed and popped.

The black dust looked like it was easily blown away by wind. But once it comes into contact with internal energy, it causes whatever spell it comes with to become unstable and go out of control.

After the shields lost the control of their users, they disappeared, which exposed their users to the black ash. The black ash settled on them and caused them to spasm uncontrollably.

The black ash is essentially a medium for spiritual attacks. It destabilizes spells and control of the body by bombarding the mind with spiritual attacks. Anyone that can resist the spiritual attack will become incapacitated quickly.

There were 20 people and more than 20 pets. But their number didn't matter. As long as they were touched and couldn't resist the attack, they became lambs ready for the slaughter.

They all fell to the ground twitching and spasming. They couldn't resist at all as the obsidian-skinned guy began killing them.

The man killed all of them and kept all of their corpses. He kept the corpses of the beast and the disciples alike. He didn't spare anything.

The disciples from other sects who had been watching earlier had already run away when they saw more than 40 people fall to the ground helpless.

They ran for their lives as fast as possible. The man didn't care. He simply picked up his loot while contemplating if he should wait here for more people and repeat the trick.

He eventually decided not to kill the guardian beast and use it to bait people.
