Multicrossover: I Took Utaha's Virginity At The Beginning!

Chapter 5: Chapter 4: Kasumigaoka Utaha’s Autograph Session

Saturday morning.

Normally, Ryuu would have slept in, following his usual routine.

But today was different—Kasumigaoka Utaha's first-ever autograph session.

After a quick shower and breakfast, he packed his things and set off for the event.

Upon arriving at the bookstore owned by Fujikawa Bunko, Ryuu immediately spotted the queue forming for the autograph session.

Perhaps because he had arrived early, the store itself wasn't particularly crowded. The usual number of customers were browsing the aisles, but the signing line stood out as the only notably lively area. Even so, there were only around sixty or seventy people waiting. Factoring in the latecomers, the total turnout would likely be around two to three hundred.

This gave Ryuu a clear sense of Kasumigaoka Utaha's current popularity.

Despite the initial success of her first volume, it was no surprise that the series didn't gain massive traction afterward. The light novel industry in Japan was a battlefield, with new titles constantly vying for attention.

After observing the queue, Ryuu turned his attention to the signing table at the front.

Seated there was a girl with long, dark hair, adorned with a white headband. She wore a simple yet elegant white dress, exuding the perfect image of a refined literary girl.

Kasumigaoka Utaha maintained an air of composure, her sophisticated demeanor fitting the persona of a young, talented author. The desk in front of her conveniently concealed her well-proportioned figure, allowing her to fully embrace the aesthetic of a graceful novelist.

Her gaze swept over the line of waiting fans.

The turnout wasn't overwhelming, but these were still her readers—people who had connected with her work. That thought alone brought a small sense of satisfaction.

However, when her eyes landed on Ryuu, she momentarily froze.

As a second-year at Sobu High, she was more than familiar with his name.

After all, he was often the subject of conversation among the girls in her class.

She never expected that the well-known junior, who had become something of a school celebrity, would also be one of her readers.

An inexplicable feeling of recognition stirred within her.

Before she could dwell on it further, a voice over the speaker system announced the official start of the signing event.

The line began moving forward.

After about ten minutes, it was finally Ryuu's turn.

He stepped forward, placing his copy of Metronome of Love on the table.

"I didn't expect Utako Kasumi to be Kasumigaoka-senpai."

He spoke with genuine surprise as he met her gaze.

Kasumigaoka Utaha wasn't shocked to be recognized. She was quite well-known in Sobu High, after all.

But the fact that Ryuu had come to her signing event intrigued her.

She accepted the book from him, her fingers brushing against the cover.

Unlike the pristine copies brought by most attendees, his book showed clear signs of wear—pages slightly curled, the spine softened from repeated readings.

Noticing this, a faint smile tugged at the corners of her lips.

"I didn't expect to meet a fellow student here," she mused. "Especially one as famous as you."

"You knew about me, senpai?" Ryuu raised an eyebrow.

Kasumigaoka Utaha let out a small chuckle. "It's hard not to when half the girls in class bring you up in conversation."

Ryuu merely smiled at that and pointed to the front page of the book.

"Could you sign here?"

"Of course."

She nodded slightly and picked up her pen.

As she wrote, her voice lowered just enough for only him to hear.

"So... what do you think of my work?"

"It's great. I've read it several times."

Kasumigaoka Utaha felt a small sense of satisfaction—until he continued.

"…But it's not perfect. Some of the plot points feel a bit too plain, and a few sections could use more engaging development."

Her pen paused for a fraction of a second.

Her crimson eyes narrowed as she processed his words.

Rather than dismissing them outright, she found herself contemplating his critique.

His remarks weren't unlike those she'd recently received from her editor, Machida Sonoko.

Finally, she glanced back up at him.

"Can you tell me exactly what you think is lacking?"

"We can talk about it after the signing," Ryuu suggested.

Realizing she was still in the middle of the event, Kasumigaoka Utaha nodded.

"In that case, would you mind waiting for me when it's over?"

She didn't usually seek out opinions from just anyone, but considering her recent struggles with writer's block, she was curious to hear his insights.

"Sure," Ryuu agreed without hesitation.

Taking his freshly signed book, he stepped aside, leaving the queue for the next person.

As he walked away, he caught sight of Aki Tomoya lining up.

Their eyes met for a brief moment, but Aki quickly turned away, pretending not to see him.

Ryuu smirked slightly but didn't bother acknowledging him either.

He had long since derailed the original timeline where Kasumigaoka Utaha was meant to be involved with him.

At this point, there was no connection between them at all.

---

A few hours passed.

Though the turnout wasn't massive, it was still close to Ryuu's earlier estimate—around three hundred attendees.

Since Kasumigaoka Utaha made sure to engage with each reader during signings, the entire event lasted quite a while.

By the end of it, she was thoroughly drained.

Collapsing onto the wooden table backstage, she let out an exhausted sigh.

"So... this is what an autograph session feels like."

Just the act of signing books was tiring enough, but dealing with all kinds of fans required even more energy.

Even someone as composed as Kasumigaoka Utaha felt completely drained.

"You think this is bad?" a voice teased.

Machida Sonoko, her editor, leaned against the desk with a grin. The short-haired woman adjusted her glasses and crossed her arms.

"Wait till you hold a signing for a bestselling volume," Machida continued. "You'll barely be able to lift your arms afterward—assuming that day ever comes."

Kasumigaoka Utaha let out an exasperated sigh.

"Only an editor would be cruel enough to say something like that."

"I'm motivating you."

Machida's tone remained cheerful, but her gaze carried a hint of encouragement.

"Besides, you had quite a few devoted fans today. That enthusiastic guy with glasses… and, of course, that handsome junior."

Her voice took on a teasing note at the end.

Kasumigaoka Utaha shot her a look.

"Aki and Natsukawa?"

She hadn't given much thought to it earlier, but now that Machida mentioned it, both had been among her attendees today.

Between the two, though, Ryuu had definitely left a stronger impression.

Having a well-known school figure as one of her readers held a different kind of appeal compared to regular fans.

Machida smirked knowingly.

"So, aren't you going to get up? Someone's been waiting for you."

Kasumigaoka Utaha rolled her eyes.

"I don't need you to remind me."

Despite her words, she immediately picked up her bag, straightened her dress, and strode out of the room with newfound energy.
